QoL tip: Set preferred flying method to any individual mount

I really dislike this new change that you either set ALL your mounts to Skyriding or set ALL to normal flying.

Up until now I had 2 mounts bound on each character: 1 skyriding mount for long distances and 1 normal flying mount for short distances (or if precision mattered on landing).

Here a great way to fix it:
Set all mounts to either skyriding or normal flying (just like now), BUT let us switch a toggle for any specific mounts to use the other flying method.

Problem fixed.

that would be great

Yup, agree. I also had one button for Dragonriding and another for normal flying.
Would like to have that ability again.

I’ve been wondering what happens when you have skyriding enabled and you get on a mount that doesn’t have skyriding.

Reading on WoWHead someone posted that ALL flying mounts have skyriding now, so the list given of those that weren’t during the beta is no longer relevant.

Not checked meself yet though to confirm.

Ah! Time to check some of the animations out then.

Farming Expedition Scout’s Bags, Disturbed Dirt and Magic-Bound Chests for treasure maps just became a lot more difficult.

Oh come on, that’s hyperbole.
5 secs to switch isn’t ā€˜a lot more difficult’.

Would it be nice if it was a ā€˜per mount’ thing you could set? Sure.
But your claim is just over the top.

It behaves like a ground mount.

It is annoying, not for just what I said there, but for a lot of other things. Do you really expect me to press that 5 sec cast 50 times a day? Just add up how much you lose and how annoying it is.

It was literally better before, so what are we talking about? I can’t settle for a clear downgrade, since I’ve known better already before.

All flying mounts have it. Even those without ā€œwingsā€.

Which is quite ridiculous considering they behave like a winged animal, and even have the correlating sound effects.

I don’t expect you to ā€˜need to change’ 50 times a day, honestly.

You’re out of vigor otherwise, you do a couple of short jumps and then you don’t have vigor for a longer jurney. But I don’t understand people like you, if it was obviously better before, what would you settle for something less? And why do you feel the need to defend this new system?

I’m not defending it. I’m saying your claim is hyperbole.
You could have said: The 5 secs isn’t needed. Or: I don’t like the swapping system.
Or any number of reasonable arguments. That is what I have an issue with; not with you disliking it.

Players have been raising this since Beta came out. I even put this in as Feedback on the Beta myself.

Good to see that Blizzard aren’t listening to players again.

I literally gave a personal exemple when it’s annoying, also explained it to you:

And if you think a bit for yourself, you could understand this applies to many other similar scenarios.

I also came up straight with a solution, not only counting what I dislike.

I’m done replying to you, you clearly have a different agenda and I don’t have time for endless arguments.

That’s sad, they wait until it hits the live servers and then the backlash comes. What is the logic in this?

You’re taking this way too personal and reacting way too aggressive.
I have no ā€˜agenda’.

I agree with the idea of this thread. :person_shrugging:t3:
You do you, man. But please… Relax a bit.

it’s crazy how many of us can think of this but people whose job is to think of this can’t.
