Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 1)

Or just a fan of Quel’dorei and Sin’dorei

It’s not illegal to like both, you know…

Indeed.

Bot lorewise you have to choose.

Kaiine cant be a swiss elf !

Some involvement was always expected. The question is.

  1. How much?
  2. How much is really just Veressa?
  3. How much is Veressa acting as a bridging character to Alleria and Sylvanas?

No you don’t.

I can write stories for my High Elf toons (Void Elven High Elves) and Blood Elf toons, where they can both be correct in their judgements of each other.

And unless it’s against the forum ToS - nowhere does it state that I have to pick a single side. I can pick both sides.
I pay to play the full game…not half price just for one side.

Silver Covenant NPCs have been datamined to be around the High Elf Refuge Point; so I guess that will be the new High Elf settlement, since many of them probably died in Dalaran, before it exploded.

You take my sentences too seriously… you must be a void elf with that lack of humour.

You even didnt notice the star wars reference joke about “you re a grey elf” (grey jedi between dark and light side)

It’s hard to get the reference with something you don’t really like or watch

You re right and star wars is not really known among the planet.

I agree, which offers support to my hope this place is intended as a final stop for that group and their ultimate retirement from the narrative.

But their presence doesn’t necessarily mean they will play a major role in the story. The Alliance High Elves have only VERY rarely played their own part in the story. Usually they were deployed in support of Jaina and Dalaran with only the purge standing out as a moment they were proactive (and even that, I would still argue that was mostly Jaina’s story).

The fact Maria Hamilton confirmed the purge isn’t really going to be dwelt on, when it is the obvious hook for any genuine content, strongly implies to me that the elven unification storyline will be focused on the void and blood elves (which mirrors Midnight’s theme) with the High Elves getting a look in but not being a major part of the plotline.

We gift High elves to Amanis as meals and two problems solved

  1. no more high elves
  2. playable amanis

When she stated the opposite, because we’re delving into why the Elves were divided. The Purge will be touched upon and it was the High Elves that were KILLING the Blood Elves. Jaina’s orders were not to kill, but the High Elves did it anyway and faced no consequences.
It’s a big factor why the schism between High and Blood Elves remains. It’s no shock that it will be touched upon.
No doubt, we will see something similar between Night Elves and the residents of Quel’Thalas and Suramar as well, since Thalyssra and Halduron are seen in Bel’ameth

As much as this is about a union, we’re delving into why the splits occurred in the first place.

I don’t see why they’d put so much effort into the High Elf settlement, still based within Quel’Thalas, when they aren’t involved.

That’s like having the Nightborne having built a home on the old Night Elf Isle, but then stating “Nightborne probably won’t be involved with this.”

Windrunner Village is, by proxy…now an Alliance base of operations, with Void Elves occupying it.

No I believe you missed the comments regarding the purge, though given there were so many interviews done it was hard to keep track of them. Blizzard was asked directly if the purge would be referenced, and the answer made clear they weren’t going to dwell on it. As the single biggest incident of violence between the Blood Elves and the exiles, if there was going to be real meat on the bones of the division there, they would dwell on it. Now, they didn’t actually say they weren’t going to acknoweldge it, merely that they wouldn’t dwell on it. They also confirmed things would touch on the Quel’Dorei, but touching on the Quel’Dorei doesn’t mean they are a major part of the narrative. Touched upon get simply mean that it gets mentioned.

Blood Elves and Void Elves are both playable. Their split actually reflects the theme of the expansion. It is not unfair to assume they have recieved the lion’s share of the attention. Even the lorewalking quests cover the split between the Blood Elves and the Void Elves rather than the exile of the Alliance High Elves, demonstrating the narrative priorities they seem keen for folks to experience before hand.

I actually expect very, very little to be done with Night Elves and Nightborne. I think Metzen’s line has been misinterpreted, and that the Elves he was referring to are the thalassians alone as this is their homeland.

As for the presence of Void Elves in Blood Elf lands, until told otherwise I am assuming this is a narrative convenience. Once Quel’thalas is saved, I think the Alliance forces will withdraw afterwards in terms of the story.

Is that why Thalyssra and the Nightborne are in Silvermoon’s Horde part and why she’s also part of the Sin’dorei and Shal’dorei force, requesting Kaldorei aid in Bel’ameth.

So…
“It’s not spoiler-y to say, that we will be learning a lot about the Elves and their relationships with one another and that would include, the Quel’dorei.”

I ll agree on one thing :

In term of developping/working on the game.

  • It would be easy and precisely easy as F to improve quel danil lodge or/and allerian stronghold as a large village maybe a medium town (not big as Silvermoon HE are small in numbers) as a starting zone with elvish buildings sanctum and stuff and NO HUMANS NPCS

  • Add classes kaiine mentionned

  • copy past the same model as BE

  • adding new haircuts is not necessary

  • copy all racials

Update… boom chinch… playable high elves

1 month maximum to work on.

So easy to do but also proof, in a sort of way, that blizzard doesnt want playable HE

Ofc cours fair skin and blue eyes for VE is absolutely not enough

And as an old ex-HE fan I ll say its clearly a middle finger to HE fan club

If a bunch of :turtle: guys did with fun in the back of a dirty garage room with coke and pepper cans and crisps packets on the floor

Blizzard can do it

But they apparently dont want since 2007 and we had the final proof with midnight trailer

• Arcane Meditation : Restore 5% over 3sec channeling of your Mana, Energy, Rage, Focus, Chi, or Runic Power.
• Arcane Mastery : Increases Mastery by 1%.
• Arcane Beauty : Jewellery skill increased by 5.
• Arcane Focus : Add 1% of Arcane school damages to every attacks

You ll obtain the arcane meditation spell by a nice starting quest about your pilgrinage in the sunwell

Boom new racials

quel danil lodge could be perfect

Not so far from the sunwell
Not so far from alliance cities
Former HE group
Nice lake spot for meditation
Remove the dumb NE building

Not a :turtle: copy

Add :

Sanctum, Church, RogueSpies building, Warriors Building etc etc Inn, portal zone etc.

A main leadership builfing with Auric Sunchaser as leader with vereesa as assistant

Everything with quel dorei buildings style

Classes :

Warrior
Priest
Hunter
Mage
Rogue
Death Knight
Monk

Sorry HE fanatics, there is NO quel dorei paladin order or history, facts

But presence does not equate to focus. In fact, if it really is ALL elven groups getting that focus, then that diminishes the space for Alliance High Elves.

Also, I am aware of that video.

I was referring to this one.

https://youtu.be/k3Mga4jbN8o?si=Hq5RqEbOPi_AnVqp&t=992>

“Might we see a quest about Veressa going over what she did during the purge of Dalaran in Mists of Pandaria?”

“We do have some campaign chapters about the elves…and that will be covered a bit in those chapters but not in significant depth”.

Which is a very strong hint that the Alliance High Elves may not be getting the focus some wish. After all, that was THE event they actually had a serious role in (even if, as I have expressed, I would argue it is mostly Jaina’s story there).

In fact, the additional context you’ve provided that there is a more substantial Night Elf/Nightborne presence than I anticipated means more narrative space by necessity has to be given to them, thus diminishing any for the non-playable Alliance High Elves.

I hope HE fan club are not against joining the Silvermoon society only because of the red roofs colours and the memorial name itself… :expressionless:

But that still means that the Quel’dorei as a whole are playing a role in this…now, I don’t think it will be in the role that many fanatics wish for, but they are the crux in the divide, between both:
Kaldorei/Quel’dorei
Quel’dorei/Sin’dorei

It’s still a bit hazy on the relations between Ren’dorei and Quel’dorei, because those High Elf NPCs have all been removed from Telogrus.
Shal’dorei and Quel’dorei have no relationship, so there’s nothing to look for in that…outside of the fact that both races hold the strictest views on Warlocks and Fel Magic.

But, the Purge will be touched on. It doesn’t matter whether it’s 1 quest or 3 lines…the fact is, the continued divide between High Elves and Blood Elves specifically can be attributed to that and that is the primary fault of the High Elves.

MRGM who has been against playable Alliance High elves before, for a long time is now supporting for playable High elves. Hmm…what changed…

But Im glad since Gamescon we have gotten more and more people supporting for playable Alliance High elves from both US and EU (sure antis has increased aswell). And the devs have either noticed that or they could just be trolling like they have in the past, not sure anymore.

Mr.GM was sympathetic to the request for the years, even as far back as BFA. When was he opposed?

but there s not gonna be playable HE, because what can blizzard give to the horde? the amanis customs are already an Achievement to unlock, not an allied race feature.

the customs for high elves on VE are already there
