Yes, and it is worth keeping that in mind as the discussion rumbles on here. People forget that their hands are bound by decisions made previously and even if they now regard Void Elves as a mistake (for which there is no evidence) they still put them in as a compromise and they still gave them High Elf like customisations.
If you look at this from a coldy rational point of view, there is no avenue to add Alliance High Elves. What the Horde would get at the same time is a fair question, and they just closed out the long suggested counterpart as a possibility.
Perhaps they will try and make it more explicit that High Elves can become Void Elves?
This is all speculation of course. It might be we even see it after midnight, but nothing is certain.
It’s a matter of wait and see what happens.
We will see what they have in store for the future.
Just let those who want it be hopeful and those who are against be hopeful they won’t be added. That way no one will be disappointed.

So just like Rommath predicted the void elves are infact a danger to all of us who could have known.
You are another high elf fanatic.
It probably won’t be after Midnight. We learned from recent interviews that new races need to make narrative sense. If they were ever going to be done, it would be now.]
The chances diminished when they weren’t announced at the logical time, the announcement of the expansion itself.
They further diminished when their presumed counterpart, Amani Trolls, became Darkspear customisations and as we know Void Elves already have high elf customisations. though given there are Void Elf NPCs out in the world now who use those customisations whilst remaining obvious Void Elves I don’t believe it means much outside being wholly subjective.
And someone is going to be disappointed. This is pretty much the last chance.
I do think we’ll see playable High Elves in midnight.
Either because scattered groups of elves will rally under Vereesa or Arator, or because elves from the Arathi Empire replenish numbers across the board.

Vereesa maybe, but only if the playable high elf is going to be a silver covenant one assigned to Dalaran, which probably means they’ll be neutral which I don’t think anyone will want and if they are added as alliance there’s still the problem of, with amani now being “added” as customization options for darkspear, what will the horde equivalent be?
I don’t see how Arator will lead to playable helves tho, he even lives in silvermoon, where high elves are exiled from
Blizzard always does new faction locked races in pairs there is no way they will just add high elves while the Horde gets nothing.
Unless they are added as neutral…which whilst completely nonsensical (as Blood Elves are High Elves and Void Elves have high elf like customisations) would obviate the need for a Horde counterpart
The possibility exists. It is exceptionally low, but it exists. Personally I feel they are most likely to be a thing in Classic+ and that they won’t be added in WoW retail (because they already have been). Remember, Classic+ has only been heavily implied but not officially confirmed so they can’t come out and say ‘hey, what mount should a High Elf use in Classic+?’.
Classic+ will be an alternate timeline. If they add High Elves there, I literally don’t care.

The analogy is more like a guy flirting with a woman who tells him that they’re better off as a friends, but continues to invite him on 1-on-1 meetups that are totally not dates, wearing makeup and freshening up before these non-dates, brushing her shoulder against him multiple times, and openly talking about what they would do as a couple.
The woman in your analogy is giving the guy mixed signals!
Also, if bumping this thread is spam, the people in this thread who don’t want high elves are just as guilty

To complete the analogy, they really aren’t dates. The guy is imagining those interactions and getting resentful as he feels he is being lead on, even when he isn’t.

You’ve likely missed out the part when they were attacking one another yesterday and having a purity spiral.

I know but I feel like just with BFA we haven’t seen all yet. I don’t put it beyond Blizzard to give us some candy customizations in the last patch.
Oh I definitely missed that.

The question was specifically aimed, mentioning “Allied Race”. Maybe we’ve played different games, but I don’t recall Allied Races being a Classic feature.

That’s why it would be classic plus.
Certainly. Keep changing the goalposts, and you’re setting yourself for further disappointment. Which by the way, I’m encouraging you to do.

I am not sure what you mean by further disappointment. You are implying that things are going your way and I am dismayed yet at the moment the sole totality of evidence you have is a single tweet that was done in a personal capacity as ‘just for fun’.
That’s a mighty thin basis for acting as if it is going to happen and I am currently in no way disappointed.
Currently there are several possible outcomes which in order of likelihood are.
1.) They aren’t added (by far the likeliest given the existence of Void Elves and Blood Elves).
2.) They are added to Classic + and are a big highlight of the reveal at Blizzcon 2026.
3.) They are added in a mid patch before the end of Midnight but it is another monkey paw (one such monkey paw is that they create a set of customisations, say those are High Elf customisations, give them to Blood Elves and Void Elves, unlikely as Blood Elves already are High Elves and Void Elves already got said customisations).
4.) The High Elves are retired narratively, which is the same outcome as 1.) but involves spending time on them in the narrative that could be devoted to existing playable races and…
5.) They are actually added. Though given there is no Horde equivalent with Amani customisations going on Darkspear Trolls they’d probably have to be neutral…which loops around to both the first point (Blood Elves and Void Elves exist) but also wrecks the whole ‘they are aligned to the Alliance’ argument people have used for years to try to justify their addition.
