Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 1)

Incorrect.

I want it for playable Ogres. Their coming deserves a revolutionary change.

Saying this as an elf main yeah it’d be nice if they put in some more races that were more rough around the edges

too many smooth coded races.

I still havn’t gotten over bipedal nerubians, spin’dorei

or the DF taurens, neigh’dorei

stop making everyting an elf!

Also not happening as they don’t want to do a new skeleton.

Because between Star Wars Fans, Star Trek fans, Game of Thrones fans, hell any fandom, there is something terribly obnoxious about your brand of fandom.

Most of them complain about the franchises they love to the point of toxicity, but you alone have this overwhelming need to have the lore rewritten around your preferences and without respect to anyone else’s investment.

Right you are, but I mean visually they are not all that different.

The Lightforged and the Draenei are likewise light
years apart (pun inteded) but they look very similar.

Elvenization, the theory that all things eventurally turn into elf.

the intellectual might on display in the forums is something truly staggering. i come to the forums to face intellectual discussion of such an IQ that it is measured in the low trillions. you need at least 6 PhDs to get into a wow forum debate about the high elves, where all parties calmly and collectedly don’t spend their entire morning posting through depression with the same cyclical arguments and a staggering lack of self-awareness.

Anyways, when the circus is in town its good to go see it.

But that’s where we disagree.

There’s no rewriting that has to be done to achieve this, it’s merely technical.
They already exist in game, and we want to be playing as the Quel’dorei who remained in the Alliance.

To balance the scales your lot can have Leper Gnomes.

How many times have you been told that the Alliance High Elves are almost dead and you point blank argue against it?

How many times have you been told that the reason they aren’t added is because of the gameplay desire to keep the two major factions distinct?

Constantly.

Hence, you are simply being incredibly obnoxious. If this were an author writing a book you’d be outside their study trying to barge in and steal the pen.

I think some people genuinely believe that there is a secret vault with 100000 high elves hidden under the hinterlands.

Well a hidden city of High Elves has been suggested on more than one occasion.

Ah, we’re back to the “They’re extinct” argument. Nope, not going there again.

That’s your take, and not the modern take.

The argument to keep anything distinct went out the window when they allowed us to have several identical races on both factions.

And even when they did that - they still gave us a lore reason for it, whether it was good or not isn’t really relevant.

High Elves have more reason than any of those to be represented as a playable race on the Alliance.

They ARE almost extinct.

See? You refuse to accept the story is as and demand it be rewritten according to your absolutist headcanon.

It’s not an argument, because Void Elves are even lesser in number.
Gnomes are also an “almost extinct race” as of the events of Gnomeregan, yet they’re playable.

You go round and round when one point fails, you go to the next.
And yet they all fail. xD

Well, to be fair… we recently discovered a secret vault of dragon people on a secret island and a secret empire of Humans, Elves and Half-Elves (making them playable for humans btw).

Storywise ← , nothing keeps Blizzard from introducing Alliance HE, it’s a pure gameplay (and faction balance) choice.

Porbably the most honest and valid point made in this entire thread.

What is viable “storywise” means nothing to blizzard, it’s ok. We can stop pretending.

I agree. But tbf i think its also a stupid discussion, we have alliance high elves its called customizations for void elves. People are just crying that they don’t get to have a racial of their own, which is like… Ok?

We already have playable high elves, we’ve had them for years.

Storywise Alliance affiliated High Elves are already in the game, they don’t need to be introduced. They just aren’t playable.

And again you resort to the same old tired arguments that have been refuted again and again and again.

Gnomes were specifically cited as being more numerous than Alliance High Elves. FAR more numerous.

Void Elves can turn other Elves into Void Elves, so as long as there are Blood Elves and Alliance High Elves willing to change, they’re good.

Each argument refuted in line with existing lore and what the developers say.

But you argue with facts you invent in your own head and then insist are facts. That’s absolutist headcanon.

I literally said that last night. The issue is they don’t want to and they aren’t going to.
