Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 2)

I saw it as terms used in a context where they do not belong to justify either violence and vitriol against a person, because thats the only things those terms are ever used out of context for.

Just so you understand how other perspectives may have seen it, so to you specifically, maybe don’t throw stones while you’re in a glass house.

Tempers can rise and sometimes a comment can misfire but that was something vile from my perspective atleast that topped what came before that atleast I was witness too.

High Inquisitor Sunbringer :fire: for you, smurf imp. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

My 1st name is for blood elves or horde folks

I can see how it might look like that.

But that also tells me you’ve either not seen the essays and essays of hostile and condescending slop he has written to a lot of people in this thread, or you’re deliberately leaving that out.

He wrote a lot of unhinged posts before that parallel was made.

Yes, they said that, which also made no sense when most of the items in question may as well be straight out of Pandaria.

I wouldn’t put too much meaning into it, yet. It felt more like a forced point to make the whole practice seem less bad.

No you use unicorns.

After the exile, yes.

With Silverglade Refuge I reckon we can smuggle some hawkstrider eggs out. Only the ones in blue, silver and white, of course. The rest are dinner.

Hawkstrider is a blood elf mount. We are going to coypright it.

“But your Honor, they said they were unifying the elven tribes”

I have seen all alpha spoilers up until Harandar and so far I don’t see any elven unity anywhere. Is this unification in the room with us right now?

I wonder.

Maybe it’ll be a story later on in the expansion, when the voidstorm has passed.

Rommath is also still alive by the time we enter Void Storm.

It seems my previous post was removed. Thin skin around here. My point remains, and it just further justifies what I meant.

Weird, I guess they didn’t like being contradicted? :skull:

Geez I take a break for two days and you’re already trying to kill one another and ran out of arguments that hold any merit. Didn’t think you’d get Kaeros to snap like that but here I am, proven wrong.

Now to pick something that I feel like would actually merit a rational response…

Not really. They aren’t Blood Elves in Political sense. Their Culture is basically indistinguishable. During the 20 years that passed they haven’t done anything to move and expand on shared cultural roots. Hell they still retain the same sense of pride even though they’re entirely dependent on Humans for their existence.

And now I can’t be bothered to find out relevant quote let me share you my thoughts on the Man’ari argument.

I feel like the similarities you try to build between their customization and theoretical High Elf Customization is surface level because the two couldn’t be more different as concepts.

Man’ari do not take away from the core aspects of Dreanei, they add upon them. Since while Draenei’s relationship with the light may be stronger than most, the light doesn’t build up on their physiology (which is what Lighforged are) the Man’ari don’t take anything from their core fantasy. Yes they are fel mutated but their introduction and backstory are clearly showing they want to get back to their uncorrupted brethren and share the same values and beliefs that define Draenei.

Proposed High Elf Customization for Void Elves are substraction based by nature. They operate on the idea of removing core fantasy of the race just so you can pretend to be something entirely else. They do not enrich Void Elves Lore or Story. They serve no purpose other than satisfying your side.

Weird math, when its optional. Did the Man’ari took away from dranei? Nope. Its a weird take that one, just for the sake of saying no.

You guys keep saying to accept the compromise, people present a compromise they would be ok with.

And you guys are like no, not like that. Its ridiculous and childish at this point.

You’re partially right, it’s not that they don’t share any culture, if anything - High Elves had more foreign / new culture added onto their original Quel’thalas-centred one. They learned to survive outside of Quel’thalas, and whether you were an elf in Stormwind or Quel’Danil, we can probably agree that they’re different.

I get what you’re saying, but at the same time it doesn’t really matter which direction you go with it. An Eredar player can still pretend they never had anything to do with the Draenei (pre or post-exile), just the same way a High Elf player will pretend they had nothing to do with Void Elves from a direct in-game perspective.

The same way a Dracthyr who wants nothing to do with their dracthyr form, and stays in their humanoid form will make up the rest of their own story and play as though they’re just a human/elf/whatever with X features.

Void Elves lose nothing by having the customization, they get more stuff while they can still play their preferred race.
It’s meant for the players.

After rewritting the story and the lore, you re stealing our hawkstriders.

Bunch of thieves you are. These are not your mounts.

This is cultural appropriation

From the City to the trees, Hawkstriders ll be free.

My brothers of the Sin’dorei, arise!
The Sunwell burns eternal in our eyes!
Thalassian pride, we’ll never compromise—
Shadilay, shadilay! High elves can cry!

Shadilay, my brothers, shadilay!
Blood elves reign, the high elves fade away!
Green eyes glow, our fel-fire leads the way—
Shadilay, shadilay! Vereesa, pray!

Exactly. Man’ari do NOT take from Draenei because they were designed as an addition and expansion. Introduction of their customization served to build upon the lore of Eredar Race after the Burning Legion has Fallen. It helps that Draenei already had the Fel corrupted Variant in their midst from day One - the Broken.

The proposed customization for Void Elves all boil down to substraction. There is no lore or story you can derive from it that would Enrich the Void Elf Fantasy because you never design it with that in mind. Because the moment you attach Void Elf onto that set in its lore they lose the purpose you want them to serve.

Except they do. They’re no longer Servants to the Burning Legion because the Burning Legion has fallen. They’re no evil hated by everyone because the game does not support that fantasy. They cannot enact their fantasy by trying to rain fell on Stormwind because they’re allied to it.

Isn’t that why you refuse to accept Blood Elves as you gateway to the High Elven fantasy? Even though you can dress one in blue and pretend you never had anything to do with the two wars they participated in? Because no matter what you can’t enter Alliance Zones without being attacked? Because no matter what the game will treat you as a Blood Elf responsible for Theramore and every other Horde Atrocity?

You know that not every Eredar is a penitent, right? Eredar as a whole are not official members of the Alliance.

The penitent are a minority.
