Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 2)

I wouldnt read too much into that.

It fits the naming convention of all the other adventurers.

We have like “kul tiras adventurer” “exodar adventurer” “outland adventurer”.

Its pretty much always the location. The only exception seems to be earthen adventurer.

Well, that would never happen, so lets not even use that as a “point”.

You were basically saying “Well, he has a point if” and then also refuting it yourself the next sentence. That’s why I said:

Half the things here get lost in translation, or deliberately mixed up anyway, I cba.

But for example, you have a tendency with telling people that they’re “wasting time talking about X” and then you start doing it yourself a day or so later. It’s a bit weird.

On this one. I’ve been proven wrong - High Elves now feature in Silvermoon City - and not just Void Elves.

The Silver Covenant has a command building dedicated to them, called “Silversun Accord” in Falconwing Square. It’s currently populated by a lonesome Captain Elsia, but I imagine it’ll have more NPCs inside of it once the campaign brings the High Elves under Vereesa to Quel’thalas.

Didn’t it happen already when Blizzard added the normal skin and hair colors and made the tentacles optional? As I said, I’m not criticising that they did - but from a Void Elf “void purist’s” POV, it’s a different story.

I am weighing arguments against each other and try to see where the other side is coming from; something that should be normal in discussions imo. :man_shrugging:

That is not an example, it’s just another claim.

Yes, I participate in discussions, I argue and and yes, I also try to convince people… but I’m aware that we’re talking about customization in a video game - nothing that would justify attacking people personally or making assumptions about entire groups of fandom.

No but you jumping on that bs about my eyes makes me dislike you a fair bit

Well, it seems something will be happening.

And with this revelation I can confidently pre order midnight.

That would be fine if the ones in question weren’t consistently acting in bad faith and took things out of context half the time.

It’s one thing being a devils advocate, but these two aren’t here for a debate. They don’t care about what happens, they just want to argue and be proven right no matter what.

One day they are all about X, then another it’s something else. It’s all very inconsistent.

The amount of constant provocation and belittlement is unheard of in other threads.

I very clearly do care what happens.

I care about void elves remaining void elves and not being turned into little more than a tool for you to live out your high elf fantasies.

You dont think that would happen so you rule out the idea that anyone does have that concern.

If you put all the high elf requests made in this thread into the game, then void elves would have been taken over completely.

You like to act as if the racial is the one and only thing high elf fans ask for because thats your want. People ask for a lot more than that and will keep asking for more if they did get it.

The fact that you say things like that just proves my point.

Blizzard has already created the tool for it to happen. We’re here because we want it to be more authentic, which can be made by implementing some very small and benign things.

Get over yourself.

The void elf npcs with the natural skin and hair shows they are void elf customisation. Its nice that you can use them too. But using them doesnt make you a high elf.

That might’ve been true if it wasn’t for the fact that we have Silver Covenant High Elves walking around with Void Elf hairstyles. That was clearly done with intent.

What’s more likely is that we’ll have to wait until Blizzard re-does their selection screen, or how general customization work as a whole. Maybe we’ll see it done later on when the unification they speak of actually happens.

Then why are you debating with them in the first place? Everybody goes ad-hominem and viciously defends their own position, attacks others because they disagree and… then what?

“You’re siding with them, even though they are evil!” just doesn’t do it for me as an argument. If there are points in Moritz’ posts that I can agree with or that I can at least understand, I’ll do that, even if I have a different opinion about it.

I defended Erevien’s / Numriel’s “Blizzard treats the Horde awful in the story!”-stance on numerous occasions, despite disagreeing with 95% of his other “hot takes”, despite his annoying and undifferentiated methods and a (from my POV) very questionable personality.

Taken over by whom? People who didn’t want to play Void Elves before and instead play them as High Elves? I would claim that these people are already a majority. Still, it doesn’t prevent you from playing a “voidy” Ren’dorei.

The very notion of being a devils advocate here implies that I don’t think you’re siding with them, but what I have a problem with is that you took it out of context.

And while I appreciate honest debate, these two aren’t honest. They’re sly and deliberately strawman at every turn. I’m not debating with either of them anymore, if Kaeros wants to try and bait something I just say “Good for you” or “We’ll see”'.

If you think i strawman you then you must not be making your points very well.

Im not the only person that has apparently taken what you said of context.

When multiple people does it, it might be on your end.

It’s just you and Kaeros.

At least you’re consistent in this behaviour of yours, Mortiz.

It’s not like you have interest in debate though do you? Whenever Kaeros or now Moritz and occasionally even me point out flaws you just return to your support circle to ensure you’re in the right.

What exactly did I take out of context? He made the point that he doesn’t want the Void style cumstomization to be overshadowed by the “normal HE” stuff. A “soft precedent” for that case was made when the only new customization that the VE received since their introduction was the “normal elf” colors (and black and white hair a few weeks later, but that can be used by all of them).

In order to support this argument, I don’t need to know how he behaved on the US forums or what he said in post X or Y. I agree with the argument, not with everything he wrote.

I understand the concern on a player’s POV, so I agree with that specific part of it.
It’s not even a “devil’s advocate” situation. Personally, I’d prefer more HE customiziation, but I understand any VE player who would prefer more voidy stuff - and I think, there’s a good case for both positions.

You’re consistently wrong about your takes, like not subjectively - but objectively wrong about your lore, for example thinking Vereesa isn’t a part of the Alliance, or that the Eredar are all official Alliance members, etc.

But that’s what you’re doing. Although your circle is more Kaeros sitting and patting you on the back because you’re the only one who agrees with him.

I even call out someone who I know agrees with my point, like Senti.
