Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024 (Part 2)

Except I didn’t say anything about not caring about High Elves?

All I did was decide to say that people are acting like idiots over a race.
And quite frankly, they are, when they basically just want to sacrifice the current existing races in favor of getting the thing they want.

Idiots, according to you.

Most of us are here because we want something added.

Ah, and here comes the typical argument upon confrontation, which is extremely overexaggerated.

Nobody’s being sacrificed for a few customizations to happen. High Elves of WoW already exist in the story, and have been a natural oppositional force to Horde Blood Elves for a long time.
Like I said earlier:

But because we don’t live in said perfect world, all we can do is ask for non-intrusive customization.

I’m certain that there are more polite people who think the same thing about you, but aren’t quite as forthcoming.

And you got that. You are currently playing a character who looks like the most vanilla High Elf you can think of.

What more do you want?

You say that, and then you quote this:

This is you quite clearly wanting to sacrifice Void Elves as they are right now, in favor of having High Elves.
This reads as you saying “Just make Void Elves a cosmetic option, and not be these elves that are void-infused that is reflective in their gameplay”

Anyway, no point in arguing with a brick, so I’m gonna go experiment in the kitchen.
You do not deserve High Elves, and if it were up to me I’d permaban everyone wanting them.

Would’ve made sense if you didn’t leave out what I said:

Should we Get Stormwind Humans next? Maybe ones that are tired of Wrynn Monarchy and want freedom from their perceived incompetence? I know you fail to understand a difference between Neutral Race with groups that support either faction and race that in it’s core supports one side having identical copy.

You mean traitor in their midst that had access to information that proved vital for Arthas? You mean you DIDN’T know that? Oh no the Lord Regent trusted a wrong person… Just like Uther and Terenas trusted Arthas. Argent Dawn trusted the guy who ended up being Cult of the Damned member that took Kel’Thuzad’s phylactery back to Lich King. Night Elves trusting Staghelm etc.

Why can’t be done the same for the High Elves and Blood Elves? if silvermoon become neutral at the end of midnight why not? everyone will be happy.

Btw we already have 2 human race that are the same whats the difference one being fat? lmao
2 gnomes race that are basicaly the same except for some arms and legs

2(+1 neutral) dwarfs race that are basicaly the same different colour scheme lmao

2 draenei race it changes only the colour scheme

The issue is, is that High Elves are Alliance and Blood Elves are Horde and no matter how much people try and twist this, the Blood Elves are the ones who own and lead Silvermoon. It’s vibe, it’s colour scheme, everything about it in Midnight won’t be changing. It will be remaining as a Blood Elf city as will Eversong Forest…it will all still be considered “Blood Elf land” because that’s how it’s been created.

No - I don’t think sharing Silvermoon or making it neutral works. The High Elves in 2010 who went back to Quel’Danas for Quel’Delar’s restoration - what influence have they had on the story since then?

What we’ve got is Silverglade Refuge and I’d say, as a High Elf supporter, that is what we need. The High Elves at the Refuge also hate the Blood Elves, hate the Horde…and that’s absolutely fine. That’s what they should be like.

But you can’t demand that the minority that is the High Elves of the Alliance, is catered for over the majority which are the Blood Elves of the Horde. We can’t do that and Blizzard, just from the vibe of Silvermoon and Eversong, isn’t doing that.

The game is literally flooded with their demon spawn. We sincerely don’t need another elf (or silly dwarves) race.

Can we get more forsaken? Hozen? Maybe even Tunaka or the walrus people (I’ll never remember the name of the race).

But noooo. Ugh.

I hope you are around when we get HE on the alliance. I want to share that moment with you. I will also have a cartman meme ready

I leave a few hours and almost 100 new replies. You all have mastered the art of being annoying.

Some kind of unification is happening.

We just have to wait and see how it’ll turn out.

“unification” can mean many things.

It could mean that all Elvenkind unites under one banner (whether that means all Elves collectively leave the Alliance and Horde, or, Light Forbid, all the elves unite under the Horde banner (in which case, what is the Alliance even doing in Quel’thalas)), it could mean the Void Elves and the High Elves repatriate back to Silvermoon where the Alliance and Horde Elves live amongst each other and tolerate each other.

I just hope this story arc will have a satisfying progression and resolution

I personally don’t think Silvermoon will become neutral.

It’s more likely it’ll be a loose council of some sort, where the common interests can be discussed - but I doubt there’s going to be anything more than that. Although, who knows.

Indeed. :x

Well too be fair that’s on Blizzard for suddenly deciding Alliance should hold absolute authorities in all cosmic forces. In this case Light and Void in their favorite power couple.

Never happen

cause it means every blood elves player will lose every horde/alliance tmogs

The problem with this angle is that some folks here are viewing it exclusively through a story lens and then projecting their wishes onto that story. That is not how World of Warcraft works.

Start from a common sense position and prioritise gameplay and systems; the Blood Elves will not leave the Horde and will remain a core Horde race. There is no gameplay reason that would justify the Blood Elves leaving the Horde and there would be a massive player backlash if that was tinkered with. Art time has been invested into creating thalassian Horde assets which would be a waste if Silvermoon was intended to be made neutral.

What Elven unification therefore is left when you accept that premise (and people really should accept that premise, because anything other than that is a wild, unsupportable flight of fancy)? It probably means them working together to save Quel’thalas and it may just be that, a story MOMENT. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything more profound than that.

If it is more than that, then it would be the other tribes being allowed to live in Quel’thalas but Quel’thalas remaining Horde. This may be their way of drawing the Alliance High Elves to a narrative conclusion by having them going home, declaring they will be there for the Alliance if needed…and then we forget about them going forward.

Something I wonder, since Darkspear Trolls get a customization reward for the Amani achievement: Does that have any lore implications in regards to certain Forest Trolls (other than the Revantusk) joining the Horde?

Perhaps there’ll be something similar for the unification quest/achievement down the road for Thalassian Elves.
