Indeed. On this thread we work on both assumptions that it can happen, or if it does not, then next best thing which is void elves.
Void elves have 2 sub-themes going on at the moment which are Alleria type and Umbric type.
Their origins are different aswell as we all know, so it would not be a strech to have option for the passive, using a quest like the Man’ari for example.
But like i mentioned previously, i would prefer by far High Elves, and let the Void Elves grow into their own theme.
NO, you just want to keep stealing from the Blood Elves!!! How many MORE hair colours do you intend on taking from the one and only TRUE High Elves - The Blood Elves? The medium golden blonde is OFF LIMITS!!!
I cannot blame them any less than i can blame those who shot it down.
Its been two dacades of this, as you said, and the gears have been grinded down to circles.
Its not so much the High elves I take issue with, its mainly the constant pop up of the same topic, asking for the same thing, getting replys from the same people, reaching the same stand still.
I’m tired boss, I don’t think the High elves are comming.
Blizzard said no, we have high elves from wish, changed their mind in a blizzard way and gave us blood elf skin toggle.
the high elves are here if we close our eyes and pretend.
And I for one would be really disappointed if we got another elf whos biggest draw is, we don’t have void elf racials.
It be a nothing burger served in an air bun with imagnary source.
But that is exactly what they are. There are no biological or cultural differences between them. Their alignment is of political nature. They would be the same race in everything but the name.
Notice how instead of admitting how nonsensical the argument is you switch the topic, trying to derail it?
I never claimed it was about a name plate.
Most admit that we can only ask for non-intrusive customization since Blizzard decided to be difficult. Most don’t want a purple passive. It’s not that deep no matter what angle you use.
Lmao. I mean i have repeated ad nauseum Blood Elves should have more cosmopolitan costumization, and High Elves a more rugged look, outside the SC. Void Elves need tattoos like the xalasomething. That would look cool.
The 20 years timeframe is a dead giveaway of course. There seems to be a sense that if people keep asking for them, Blizzard will cave, but they’ve managed to say no for 20 years. The point at which it was realistic for pressure to cause a change passed about a decade ago, when they made the active choice to create Void Elves rather than Alliance High Elves in the allied race system. THAT was the moment.
And they didn’t do it because they didn’t want to duplicate Blood Elves. Rightfully so.
And this is the second part of the equation. Even if they were minded to change their mind, they can’t. Void Elves tie their hands now.
I hope for better or worse Midnight puts an end to this topic for good.
I hope they either find a new way to live that change them into something worth making an Allied race or they are all switch to blood elves.
regardless I hope there won’t be anymore High elves at the end of Midnight.
Because they become the misplaced middle child between the older blood elf and the younger void elf.
Can’t add a stand alone allied race as it duplicates Blood Elves.
Shouldn’t add more customisations of that type to Void Elves as it compromises their core race fantasy.
There are no good options in other words, even if only the later is POSSIBLE (there is enough information to confirm there will be no stand alone Allied race).
The only thing I can say is that this is the endgame for this request. If not now, when? And I say that because the narrative focus on Quel’thalas means that this is the only opportunity for anything to move on this front. If they haven’t decided to move on this topic in an expansion set in Quel’thalas, then they are never going to move on it. Why would pressure work when we are back in Northrend or running around the Arathi Empire when it didn’t when we are in Quel’thalas? Why would this demand have a greater impact when they are rebuilding Northrend or scoping out Avaloren than it would when we are in Quel’thalas?
We already have all the important customization, now we just don’t want to have an ugly purple passive when we fight, as an option.
Jealous, though? I guess you’d grasp for anything instead of admitting that you’re being a silly goose with no argument.
I mean, we’ve had Mag’har being plucked from another timeline in BFA, instead of getting them in WoD. I don’t think it’s as big of an obstacle as you think it is.
I mean i was just advocating to exacerbate the difference between them with costumization… but as you can see above, no matter what compromise you try to reach they just want to deny us at all costs. Thats why i dont even engage with most of them. Just sylvaris (apologize if i got the name wrong), that while against it, you can actually have a talk with him.
I would have been totally fine with just brown skin for the Mag’har really. That extra WOD touch wasn’t needed. I am more wanting for grey skin on regular Orcs these days instead.
No one should be denied more hair, eye, skin, tatto, nose ring, ear ring, ear, etc options.
more options good.
Asking for a graphical change to a racial is a bit more than just costumization though.
Eredar skin tones came with a quest, green fire came with long quest and a class challenge.
A change to their racials visual element would logically then come in form of a quest explaining why its different.
which could be done, but I have no idea where to begin with that.
Wouldn’t bother me much, but I don’t really pay attention to my own character in combat, I mostly look at the enemy and if there is fire on the ground.
