thats fine, but truth is elves are very beloved. and argument of “too many elves” feels unjustified to ppl who desired high elves for many years before the nightborne/void elf bloat.
theres argument to be made for bloated char creation screen. you see bunch of orc, tauren and twice as much elf. but there are ways to fix this issue that are elegant and only require us to think outside of existing contraint of the menu.
Don’t get me wrong I think Velf was the wrong call and it should have been Helf but all they can do now is make Velf be Helf. Without needing to add yet another elf race. It just needs to be a customisation option IMO.
We have Taurens and Moose Taurens
Three flavours of Dwarves
Four flavours of Elf
Gnomes and robotic gnomes
Draenei and Shiny light Drae
Etc etc
Ideally (for me obvs) it would be you choose your faction then you choose your race, then you choose your variation of that race. Then create as usual, instead of having many of the same thing.
arbitrary alt swap to show devotion to elfkind
but blizzard can redeem these blueberries. they have it in them and Midnight, by concept of xpac, is opportune moment.
They absolutely can - their is an avenue for playable High Elves, where it has no involvement of Blood Elves, whatsoever.
But that is the only route for playable High Elves. Anything where they are involved with Quel’Thalas/Blood Elves just simply isn’t a proper High Elf. It’s just a Blood Elf, until you leave and integrate with the Stormwind populace.
We have enough trolls. And I don’t think there is any convincing way to write a story where the Amani suddenly become big fans of the guys that destroyed them twice
