I get why the non lunatic high elve fans want them and I support that.
It’s just important that the high elves are there own race and not just blue blood elves.
I personally thin high elves should be done via character customisations for blood and void elves but I get why a stand alone race is preferred by some even so we have more then enough elves imo ^^
If they do high elves I hope they do it right.
One race for each faction and then the horde can get something nice too.
And please not the idea the lunatics sometimes throw around that we should get th super uninteresting uncreative and lore wise impossible forest trolls
As much as I am a playable High Elf supporter, I do completely understand why they might not actually be a playable race and they will be a customization option for Void Elves (ideally and in the main) as well as Blood Elves.
Nobody can deny that you can essentially RP two (arguably three) Elven sectors, despite not having them as a playable race - them being High Elves, Highborne and maybe even Felborne if your a Nightborne Warlock, as well as being able to play 4 different elf races already.
I don’t think Blizzard will create an Elf race for one faction without giving an Elf race to the other faction.
In this, the only concept I can think of would be playable Naga for the Horde (Naz’dorei.)
Oh yes I can see that.
I always forget Naga are elves too.
High elves for the alliance Naga for the horde.
Back to that “good and evil” thing the factions once had.
That actually sounds like a good idea and I try to not be biased cause I could play a Naga then
Only problem would be that the high elves would kinda clash with the viod elves.
There would be probably not many viod elves left when the alliance gets high elves.
Just like you really rarely see a nightborn.
See that moontear and all your alts.
Thats compromises.
That’s mutual understanding even so we have different stances on high elves.
I think Void Elves have their place and people do like them, but we have to call a spade a spade and yes, their would be a large portion of void elf players who would transfer over to High Elves. I would for 1 of my characters and that is my Void Elf Hunter, because I would want the “High Elf” tag for her because I do love the old school High Elf Farstrider fantasy.
I’ll be honest, I’m seeing more and more Nightborne casters involved with high end Mythic+ and Raiding. I’m not sure if it’s due to their passive of having 1% extra spellpower…but their does seem to be a lot of Nightborne players when I log in.
At the start of BFA, I’d hardly see any. Then we get to…the disaster and nobody saw me because I was playing TBC Classic, but during TWW, I have seen more and more Nightborne.
To be honest, I’ve always wanted to play a Naga Elemental Shaman as well as a Naga Shadow Priest…they do fit thematically with the Horde and if we think about it…discounting the Elves…I actually think Naga do fit well with the Forsaken.
Let’s review:
Both were changed from their previous lives and they both turned very cold and black-hearted towards anything that was their previous lives.
Both were once Human and Night Elf respectively and now, both absolutely hate Humans and Night Elves.
We’ve got to be able to compromise.
We can’t go into Midnight, expecting High Elves and expecting them to come at the expense of Blood Elves.
BFA tells us that Blizzard won’t go down that route again and it doesn’t matter which races will be impacted negatively/positively.
ok so. i dont think stealing silvermoon capital from horde is common sentiment from high elf lovers. look at OP; no mention of silvermoon, only existing high elf settlements.
silvermoon as a glorious red jewel in the eastern kingdoms, where the only non blood elves are a few horde ambassadors getting escorted through the city; this is something im sure resonates with majority of elf enjoyers.
if story wise blizzard want to signal elf reunification, im sure handful of high elf in remote corner wont hurt; this is like quel’delar questline. but i dont get the idea that general populace that wishes for high elves wants silvermoon to lose it’s identity as the great capital of the blood elves.
I’m a High Elf supporter and I always want High Elves in their own nation and city because that is what it will take for them to be a proper allied and playable race.
But the OP is now alt-swapping and his mind has changed. He now wants Silvermoon shared between all Elves, with the majority of it being an Alliance City. Say what you will about Bel’ameth and Gilneas, but neither of these have lost their Night Elf or Worgen feel, despite them being “neutral” in the game.
Silvermoon must always remain Horde-leaning, even after the events of Midnight. Any high elf or void elf who chooses to stay is subject the Blood Elf laws created by Lor’themar.
I very much believe that with the Northrend Revamp, Crystalsong Forest and the city of Shandaral should be the home for playable High Elves.
I will never support ideas which are at the expense of the Blood elves. That’s not how it can work.
i ask, what does it matter. his post, with all the support, doesnt contain this suggestion and i believe this is for good reason; its unpopular sentiment.
ppl dont want high elf to play silvermoon government nationalist, that beats entire point of high elf race
It is unpopular even amongst the High Elf supporters, but to try and give the idea some momentum, he’s alt posting to make it seem like it’s a perfectly reasonable request which has backing. It does not and should never have backing.
It turns the High Elf cause into a “pity elf” cause. The race we want can’t function without the Blood Elves and it actually does far more damage to the High Elves from a lore standpoint.
They should be the Shandaral Government Nationalist for The Last Titan. That has my full support.
Blend old Highborne buildings (think Azsuna) and current High Elf Arcane Towers and you have a total Quel’dorei paradise, just for the Alliance. Get some Highborne Mage Ambassadors there and let both sections of the Quel’dorei live together
i think concession players want is blizzard admitting the void elf is not what was desired or asked for… ppl that want high elves dont want to turn into blueberry have echo voices or only greasy hairstyles. ppl dont want their elf soulbound to the void.
being a void elf with high elf customization feels like if man’ari was main race and draenei the customization. it feels like a disservice to the race.
which is ironic example because atleast man’ari racial ability appearance changes based on their skin colour.
Obviously there is a demand for stand alone high elves and who am I to judge that.
Every has there dream race.
I ould die for forsaken kultirans or arakkoa.
I really don’t think this game needs more Elves nor should Blizz create it. Sick of variations on the same thing. If we are going to have new races let them be actual new races.
