Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race - 2024

They do nothing :woman_facepalming:t3:

:pill: :pill: :pill:

here for you troubles

EDIT: They’re not planning any new customization at Midnight launch, which means there is still chance in 12.0.5, 12.1.0 and so on…

As it is looking right now, I vote for making blood elves a neutral race and Silvermoon a neutral city.

Reunion of the high elves of the alliance and the blood elves as the blood elves no longer use fel magic like before the restoration of the sunwell.
The blood elves now use arcane and holy magic and have stopped abusing other beings to fuel their magic.
Give players the option if they want to be referred to as high elf or blood elf by the game.

And in return, fill that spot in the horde’s roster with the Forest Trolls!

You’re really a blonde lol

I’ve just re-read this and…it’s not so much an issue, rather a concern…

Does it betray the story of the Highvale Elves if they merge with the main faction of Quel’dorei, who fully use Arcane and Frost Magic to such high measures?

These Elves of the Hinterlands purposely swore off the use of Arcane Magic…I know they don’t have much story, but that little bit they do have…does it go against or is it time that they swallowed their pride and returned to serve Lady Vereesa Windrunner.

Congrats - you’ll still have a 1/3 of the city for the Horde only.

3/3 for the Horde as a whole.

Did it betray the story of the Night Elves when the Highborne were allowed back into Darnassus?

Perhaps. Perhaps not.

I don’t believe it would be a betrayal as much as it would be a natural evolution of the story. As the Silver Covenant grows in power and influence, it’s only natural they would send some resources to help Quel’Danil grow as a settlement, both as an ally of the Wildhammers and an enemy of those evil trolls who worship the spider loa or whatever. Those in the south.

Well the difference here, again as somebody who also studied the Shen’dralar lore - those Highborne were the most nature-dwelling, nature-loving Highborne I have ever seen.

Ancients and treants roamed the corridors of Eldre’Thalas, including an Arcane Ancient so the vibes were very similar to that of Darnassus.

The Shen’dralar fitted in well because part of their vibe, partly matched Darnassus anyway…albeit some Wardens and Druids would have something to say about the Arcane Ancient, no doubt…

True.

I just hope it would be told well, where we can see evolution of the Quel’dorei Enclave coming together and rebuilding Shandaral.

I know it’s not confirmed, but I do hope Blizzard swallows their pride soon and, for TLT, gives us playable High Elves on the Alliance.
For the Alliance to also have the proper claims to the old ancient Highborne buildings, as well as modern High Elf spires and arcane structures…it would just do the Alliance story some overall, justice that is long overdue, on the Elven front.

Blizzard doesn’t even remember Vereesa exists so they probably forgot there’s High Elves in Hinterlands too.

Once High Elves become playable because they are the most requested race, they might make up a new leader from nowhere unless someone reminds them Alleria does indeed have a living sister.

They probably think Arator is the Silver Covenant leader, even though he’s a Half Elf.

I’ll put good money down that Vereesa has returned to Windrunner Spire. I’ll call it now.

That place can’t be looking so pristine and have nobody living in it.

They do remember she exists because she was mentioned by Alleria at the start of TWW.

Pretty sure that was hastily made once the X crowd pointed out the hilarity that Vereesa doesn’t appear in TWW when her home is under attack. It feels very asspullish.

“Oh yes, btw, this family who has lived in Dalaran for the past decades just randomly decided to move to an undisclosed location because… huh… they felt like it???”

In fact that line of dialogue came from Hallowfall, which chronologically was the third zone made available in the alpha. Plenty of time to add a throw-away line to please the starving Helfers.

If she appears to have returned to her home, then I’ll accept it…we also now know that Sylvanas is returning for this, so I am fairly certain all the Windrunners will be involved.

They have confirmed that Windrunner Spire will delve into the lore of the Windrunner Sisters, so that will be Alleria, Sylvanas and Vereesa

I’m not really fussed about the timings of extra lines, to be honest. It’s been addressed that she moved from Dalaran, so…now we get on with it.

Hold out hope for 12.0.5,12.0.7 or 12.1 there is always a chance we still get them! alongside amani for horde in a recent interview they mentioned trolls might get some new custo, but didn’t rule out horde not getting amani in future, so they’d need an alliance counter part.

I think its worth noting we will see what part the high elves play in midnight 12.0 when alpha/beta drops with datamining to better determine the future

Cool, now hope Blizzard gives her a new model because it’s kind of tiring to keep looking at a 2008 model in the 2020s.

New customisation for Amani features isn’t giving me hope for playable High Elves to be perfectly honest.

No one thought the Haranir would be playable after they missed their chance in TWW yet Blizzard found a way to include them in Midnight.

So they can release High Elves whenever they feel like it.

We all thought High Elves and Amani would be the new allied races and if the latter are only getting extra features…then I have every right to be worried about the former.

Is the best we can hope for, more High Elven features for Void Elves?

I don’t know…all we have is that they are NOT doing more customisation, outside of the Trolls, during 12.0.x

Haranir made no sense after TWW because their homeland is in Khaz Algar until Blizzard decided yesterday that no their homeland is actually near Quel’Thalas.

Even the first expansion, TBC, proves that Blizzard doesn’t care about lore when making a new race because they wanted to give pandas to the Alliance then decided to retcon the Eredar and Sargeras to give them Draenei.

Blizzard bends the lore to suit their whims.

They’ll eventually make High Elves because they are still the most requested feature and will be an easy win with all the Alliance Roleplayers who are a sizeable portion of the playerbase.

But this isn’t about lore though - this is about the fact that Amani are only being treated as a customisation for current Darkspear Troll characters.

Is that all we’re getting when it comes to High Elves? More High Elf features for Void Elves…is that it? No new race? No Alliance Shandaral? No Highborne+High Elf unification for the Alliance? No Quel’dorei paradise for the Alliance?

Nothing is off-limits, what if they make a new system like the LOTRO origin system? What if they just make an “Alliance Thalassian” race then create an origin system where you can be either a Telogrus Ren’dorei or a Dalaran Quel’Dorei? (maybe in an expansion revamping Lordaeron and rebuilding Dalaran)

As the Worldsoul Saga brings the first 20 years of WOW to an end, we are entering into uncharted territory. They might even make a “Proto WoW2” which is just a reskin like Overwatch 2 but introduces a whole new system of roleplaying and character choosing.
