Look at Warhammer/LOTR High Elven cities, those are REAL grand cities. And similar could easily be replicated in WoW.
That’s my point, the word “high” indicates elevation above all other races. These elves in the Warcraft world are about on the same status as Gnolls or Centaur.
A High Elf proud of his/her heritage would be embarrassed of their stick huts and small outposts.
Even the Blood Elves have been missing half of their capital city for 13 years. And it wasn’t even that impressive to begin with.
Now Suramar? That’s a start. The other elves should take a leaf from the Nightborne’s book.
The name “High elf” is merely to honor the name of their ancestors, also to distinct them from their Sindorei brothers who took the name blood.
There are Night elf Mages who still call themselves “Highborne” and yet, they are treated the same as everyone else in Night elf society. The days of the “Highborne” is long gone, but they keep that name to honor it.
Have you never noticed in the Allerian stronghold the perfect mixture of races living there? Even the music reminds me of LOTR. Try to visit it sometime and see for yourself
High Elves
Humans
Dwarves
Gnomes (Hobbits)
I always got LOTR vibes from the Allerian Stronghold
I have been there (old Terokkar is one of my favourite WoW zones, sometimes go there just to relax), it’s just some human stone walls and a couple of buildings, you could probably fit 20-30 Allerian Strongholds into Suramar!
High Elves should not be content with settling for mediocrity. That’s my point.
High elves were attacked by Arthas and his scourge, got 90% of their people killed, only later to be exiled from Silvermoon for refusing to suck magic out of living creatures.
Suramar was shielded for … I don’t know how many years. so they built a big city and the population would be huge.
He never says that though. Both he and the Silvermoon Scholars and High Elf Wayfarers refer to a new path of Study, that is all. They’re studying the Void. There is no indication in game that new Void Elves are being created at all. It is a forbidden study likely because to both High and Blood Elves the only notes they have on the subject were written by the singularly most reviled High Elf traitor in the history of the species, who caused the death of 90% of them! Even Umbric comments upon that.
The new models are cool and all, but until Blizz confirms that -somehow- Void Elves are able to create new ones, let’s not jump the gun here. It is not shown to be a lore thing yet.
Again i have to say void elfs shouldnt get same haircolors that blood elfs have. We have to look different.
Also selfish reasons i’d say if void elfs get even more what we have or look like blood elfs should get something new too. Like there are topics dark ranger or san’layan options for blood elfs.
You cant just take and take without us getting something in return at least i hope that would be the case, otherwise horde race is simply getting screwed over.
The way the High elves and the Blood elves are positioned
The way locus walker is looking at them.
The area that they are in.
And finally, this message he says while teaching them
Do we really need blizzard to confirm that new void elves can be made, when the fact of the matter is already 100% clear. I mean how clear does Locus Walker have to make his message? I understood it as did many other individuals.
No. We really don’t need ALL of it. I do think there needs to be some differences.
One hair color is enough to look like a High elf.
But knowing blizzard, they will probably copy them ALL over to the Velves. Which is why I keep making a point that asking for ONE is not selfish at all.
Blood elves can have Alleria’s tattoos in return. I don’t mind
I agree. Which is why I have always been supportive of Blood elves getting Red eyes, San’layn customizations, etc.
And if you guys want Alleria’s tattoos too, you can take it.
“This is another place where there was a race, High Elves, in the game which hadn’t really been represented on player characters. Blood Elves were the closest, but had felt green eyes. It was an opportunity where we had a number of elven races, and we could tie it back to their roots, letting players choose where they want to align and what fantasy to play out. We did have a lot of discussion about it, ultimately we might do more in the future, but for now we’re providing the option to have a few High Elf customizations available”
(For now). So more stuff is coming, just have patients. I wouldn’t be surprised if a Blonde, Black, and white hair started to be available.
However, the idea of a High elf race on its own will never happen especially now that Void elves got the High elf flavor and will continue to do so.
Unless, Blizzard introduced sub races and separate customizations, but that’s very unlikely given the other interview where they said they won’t do sub races.
So, just wait and more stuff will come. Have hope . And don’t let the Anti-Helfers get to you. More stuff will come to the Void elves.
very vague statement, because void elves dont have an option to look like highelf, but like blood elf. Males actually have only 1 haircut which isn’t with tentacles…
I know for a fact most High elf fans just want natural hair colors to Velves.
Remember the interview? Or should I quote it again?
The interview said FOR NOW we will give a few high elf customizations, and we might do some more later on based on discussions they will have.
The things Void elves got are high elf customizations according to the Devs themselves. And more will come.
So this idea of a third Thalassian race won’t happen, because it is already being represented through the Void elves. Only different is they got a unique racial. That’s it.
