I think the point OP was trying to make is that lore-wise calling yourself a “High elf” in Silvermoon is highly offensive to your people. It’s like you slapped all the people that died in the war, which is why they changed the name.
So changing your name back to High elf is very political and I doubt Rommath or any of the other Blood elves would allow it.
But you can feel free to Roleplay. Make up a convincing story.
Nah. By calling myself a High Elf, it shows we have overcome the threats and troubles that killed them in the first place. We have got our revenge and restored their honour. So it is perfectly fine to call ourselves High Elves, because that’s what our ancestors were when they died and their souls can rest in peace.
The Nation of Quel’thalas joined the Alliance of Lordaeron during the Second War, and only for the duration of that War, seceding from it immediately afterwards, along with the Kingdoms of Strom and Gilneas.
As such, they were only part of the Alliance for one War.
Some (10%) Thalassian Elves had been exiled after the Third War, and sook refuge with the Alliance. Thalassian Elves however were a neutral Kingdom until the events of TBC, during which they joined the Horde, and have remained there ever since.
So uh, Nope. Exiles might have hung around the Alliance for a long time, but Thalassian Elves as a body politic have been Horde round about 15 times longer than they were in the Alliance?
Just sayin’
I mean High Elves for Alliance is cool, but lets keep the facts straight here.
Well, no
A High Elf, a Quel’dorei, children of Quel’Thalas, descendants of the Highborne of the Kaldorei is a racial name
Blood Elf is a name several of them took to honor the fallen ones, its just a name, ideological thing
Others never took it, even among the Sin’dorei, honoring the fallen king, prince, their tradition and their history
Every Blood Elf IS a High Elf, just under different name
They are not Alliance exclusive thing, more like… neutral. The Elves never were too keen to join the Alliance in the first place, literally had to be dragged in to the War calling in some ancient debts - to their dismay - and even then only token force was sent, and in the Third War, they considered the whole Scoruge thing a local, human problem
They Elves always were and always will be Elves first, not Horde, not Alliance… but the Elves. To the Elves, first thing that is important, will be forever their skin and kin. Arrogant ones we are. Would sell Azeroth to save our own skin and elven kingdoms, like Suramar or Quel’Thalas.
The loyality of an Elf always… questionable at least and you could be 100% certain, there is something behind it why it is benefical for an Elf to remain on your side.
The Ren’dorei (again, only a name, not really different than the fel-infused Elves, they are just Void-infused. Or Light-infused. Not mana/arcane infused like the original. Elves are sponges basically, soaking up energies) are “loyal” because the horde discarded them. Then again, it wasn’t the Horde who turned their back on Umbric’s little team… I’m sure a Troll, a Goblin an Orc wouldn’t mind some Elves with tentacles bringing awesome void powers to the Horde. Not really worse than the biological warfare the Forsaken are known for example… Tuaren maaaaaybe would have problem, but the rest of the Horde? Nope. The Alliance accepted them as such weapons, but the Children of Shadow not really let anyone else than an Elf to visit Telogrus…
And even Theron planned to jump ship when things went south with the horde and almost “re-joined” the Alliance
An Elf is an Elf thing… basically neutral with momentary intrests and involvment to one side, considering the longer lifespan - they plan long term - , your avarage orc or Troll or anything would be dust and bones when the Elves decide, okay, its no longer benefical to stay. And probably the alliance would accept them back, if they decide to join.
Or they would form an Elven Empire with twin cities of Suramar and Silvermoon (or extreme situation, triplet cities with Nazjatar if you toss the Naga in to the fray)
I said Thalassian Elves, and no numbers mean nothing. I said Thalassian Elves-- you simply can’t refute a fact, that this species has been represented on Alliance for the entirety of World of Warcraft and before.
Exiles or Blood Elves of Silvermoon, it really is meaningless because I am talking about the species.
Is Alleria in fact a Thalassian Elf? Are those NPCs dotted around and even the portal master to Warfronts in fact Thalassian Elves? They are, and they are tagged as Alliance.
It’s hilarious people like you speak of ‘facts’ here. It helps for your case changing the goalposts doesn’t it?
