Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race (Part 1)

in my opinion those two icons fill that gap, and that bird as eagle isnt needed

void elves are blood elves. So, no reason for them not to get full blood elf customization.

Should i apologize for the behalf of the horde that we got the high elfs you guys wanted? Because i surely am not. This decision was made by the devs in blizzard, horde players didnt ask for blood elves nor nightborne.
This doesnt mean we want our race to be 100% copypasted to the alliance.

good, so they can come and join alliance.

Blood elves and nightborne of the alliance

In your dreams Moontear.

wow wow wow, chill

Im sure you both races will come eventually as alliance or third faction.

You are wrong. There are threads up explaining by old personnel of blizzard that blood elves were granted to the Horde because there was a HUGE Korean poll made back before TBC asking for a beautiful race to be added to the Horde so guys’s girlfriends could play Horde with them.

Did they ask for high elfs? Or was it specifically asked we want pretty elfs. If i know anything about korean people they like their anime looking cat characters or very small cutesy characters that would have been a bigger hit with them.
Played enough of korean mmorgs to notice this.

Here is the source: https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/9fb2bo/john_staats_ama_author_of_the_world_of_warcraft/e5v3p5t/?context=3

Blood elves were given so that Korean girls could play Horde, as they asked for a pretty ‘‘femme race’’.

Explain to me in simple terms then, how bombing an Enemy Military fortress, that is launching an enthusiastic military campaign deep into your lands, committing atrocities along the way, is somehow a War Crime.

You may have to Retcon 20th century World History in order to do so. So I will give you some time.

I don’t need to, I have a good memory, I have played the Purge quests on both Factions, and I have read that wowpedia entry several times, usually when having to correct people making lore mistakes. Does it state in there that Jaina convened the Council of Six? No. Does it state in there that the Dalaran Peacekeepers were replaced by the Silver Covenant as the Law Enforcement of Dalaran? No.
However interestingly Does it state in there that Alliance soldiers took part in the Purge?
Yes.

Which they actually did not.

The Alliance did not take part in the Purge. They had troops there, yes. Those Troops stood and watched, they do not murder Civilians.

Why do you think Varian Wrynn was so annoyed with Jaina at what she had done? The Purge of Dalaran was entirely -against- the aims of the Alliance at that point! Lor’themar Theron and Varian Wrynn were in talks about the Blood Elves seceding from the Horde and rejoining the Alliance, due to Garrosh’s madness. The rash and illegal war crimes carried out by Jaina and the Silver Covenant absolutely halted those talks, to an extent that Lor’themar Theron is not even willing to listen when Anduin sends Alleria to make another overture to talk about the idea.

And frankly, who can blame him.

You can’t even bring yourself to type it, can you? You can’t bring yourself to type “We want High Elves” without adding “Silver Covenant” as if they were the only ones who existed.

I’m beginning to wonder if you are actually trying to sabotage the High Elf movement from within. You don’t want High Elves do you? Admit it. If Blizzard made Silver Covenant playable, but all High Elves had to be Silver Covenant, you’d be happy, wouldn’t you?

You don’t want High Elves at all…

It is a High Elf Crest. Silver Covenant are one group of High Elves. Nothing more.

It is actually a quite cool crest, as it does mimic the High Elf Imagery we see on their flags in game.
As with the Icon of Blood, I -think- the Bird is meant to represent a Phoenix, rather than an Eagle, as even long before the Phoenix took on resonance for a people rising from the ashes of the Scourge invasion, the Quel’dorei saw themselves as a people of re-ascendance in the aftermath of their Exile.

I think we’re seeing the truth of the matter. You want High Elves. Moontear does not want High Elves…

If your blood Elf character does not see themselves as the master race, then frankly they are Blood Elfing wrong :stuck_out_tongue:

Apart from then Blood Elves would need a whole new set of customisation so that they get unique customisation as Blizzard stated…I mean I don’t have a problem with that, we might get some Ranger and Magistr customisation options.

But we’ll know when Blizzard finish giving the Blood Elves the customisations that were promised…

Breaking News. Large business conducts market research and acts upon results, in other news the Pope is confirmed as Catholic, and bears do not use public toilets…:stuck_out_tongue:

Always hilarious when people drag out that reference
“One thing I vaguely remember”
“Korea or China or somewhere”
“I think that’s what happened”

And it is on Reddit.

I mean the fact it is on Reddit should tell you all you need to know. They are a reputed source for allowing quotes and comments of factual accuracy.

Bigly.

Strange thing is, that none of the people who quote that guy, who can’t really remember the facts, or whether it was actually WoW that was being talked about “Could be China or Korea” (One of those is WoW, the other is a completely separate Franchise) seem to remember playing WC3.

I mean I am -pretty sure- that WC3 happened before WoW was launched, so before any poll that is vaguely remembered, may or may not have happened, the quoted person wasn’t involved in, and can’t even remember if it was about the same game.

I’m pretty sure in WC3 they set up the reason why the Blood Elves are not buddies with the Alliance.

Strangely everybody quotes the rambling guy who may not even be on about the same game…

It is the same as the “Pandaren were a mistake!” says man who does not represent company and whose objective truthfulness is open to question and opinion is as valid as a bloke called Dave down at the pub.

Pretty hilarious…

Thats a reddit post id take it with a grain of salt.
I doubt players of horde ever asked straight can we have the pretty blonde elfs.
I’m sure there were people that were asking for a prettier race and i cant blame them. Vanilla wow horde races werent hugely popular amongs the ladies i would know i was one  still am.
It was blizzards decision in the end to put the high elfs to horde by making them new lore and changing their name. Blood elves fit the horde same as nightborne.

i will say this:

You can’t blame anything what happened at Purge at Dalanar, because it was caused by your own faction. Not to mention, that warning was given.

highelves that are in alliance, most represnted silver covenant

It was also Blizzard’s decision to Give High elf customizations to Void elves. So… yeah

In the end we players have very little saying in what is put to the game.

I’m not 100% convinced that’s the case. Looking at the options void elves have gotten (and hopefully will be getting more of down the not too long line), I truly believe that’s Blizzard responding to the community.

Wrong…players decided most of time

Yet again, Moontear, you are factually incorrect. It’s becoming quite a trademark of yours. The entire game and each expansion have been decided by Blizzard. Players have never decided what content we’ll get. Only with the mount we voted on has that ever happened, because Blizzard decided to ask us, and it’s not yet implemented.

But I believe they’ve sometimes listened to us. And I think we’ve got a far better chance of being heard if we’re reasonable and factually correct. Attributes which I can’t say you’re presenting in this debate.

That’s me saying that I believe you are causing more harm than help in this cause.

Devs are players too?

OK, let me give you a real life example, right, a metaphor. Before anyone takes umbrage at this, let me just preface this by saying I am half-Irish and know full well the severity and horror of ‘The Troubles’ in Northern Ireland, so am not making light of it in any way, shape or form.

You had two major groups (There were actually loads, but lets stick with the two big ones) in Belfast. The UVF (Protestant) and the IRA (Catholic).

They are the same race, and are physically identical apart from -sometimes- dress. The only difference is religion. Lets for the sake of this metaphor go, the only difference is -political- so Silver Cov are Alliance affiliated, Sunreavers are Horde affiliated.

-One- member of the IRA commits a crime using a UK Passport to travel to France (Could be any country, but lets say France) That’s your Sunreaver nicking the Divine Bell from Darnassus using Dalaran assets.

What is your response?
Do you a) Try to find the person responsible, and punish them,
or
Do you b) Hold all Northern Irish Catholics responsible for the actions of that one person they do not know anything about?

I mean that is pretty unreasonable right? Whilst Half Irish, Half Scots, I was born in England so my nationality is English. Does that make -me- responsible for any crimes any English person commits in a foreign country?
But lets go further.

You are the MP for Belfast. You have a Police Chief of the Royal Ulster Constabulary. They are the legal body of the Police who keep the peace and have the legal power of arrest. They’re actually a mix of Protestants and Catholics, and don’t have a horse in this race.
Even if you decided to take the -insane- step of arresting every Catholic or telling them to leave Northern Ireland, despite them personally having done nothing wrong, who do you send in with arms, to forcibly remove people from their homes, people who have actually done nothing wrong?

Do you
a) Send in the RUC who have the legal power of arrest (Still a crazy move, but they are the legitimate police) So Dalaran Peacekeepers in this metaphor,
or
b) Suddenly tell the UVF, a violent Sectarian group who hate Catholics, to go and carry out these ‘arrests’ without giving them any legal powers, or putting any restraint on their powers? Literally kicking in doors and saying “You have to leave the city now!” “But this is my home!” “You were warned” and then shooting them in the head.

One of these choices will end in absolute chaos, murder, blood shed on the streets.

That is the one Jaina chose, and that is the one the Silver Covenant willingly embraced.

Mass murder and torture, with no legal remit, of people guilty of doing nothing more than saying “Err, no, I won’t leave my home, why should I? You can’t arrest me!”

Jaina knew what she was doing. We know she knew what she is doing, because she happily orbits the city, watching the Death Squads she unleashed killing unarmed civilians trying to surrender, and she does not intervene, she just lets it happen.

Jaina, and the Silver Covenant, committed War Crimes.

Get over it.

You’re almost there, you almost managed to say “High Elves that are in the Alliance”
Come on, one more push, you can do this. Just say it. “I Want High Elves on Alliance”

You can do this…

Why are you so against the idea of the Alliance getting playable High Elves? Why does it -all- have to be about the Silver Covenant when they are actually a relatively new group of High Elves in the greater scheme of things?
