Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race (Part 1)

Oh look the rampant toxicity is leaking again. I’m saying that there is certain baggage that comes with being a Void Elf but that people are more than free to roleplay as they see fit just like they were before these changed.

That you’te somehow petty enough to deny that options to Blood Elf players too when we also have High Elven units to draw from only exposes your rank partisanship.

Sorry, but that response of yours is just too vague.

It’s simple, call your character a High elf if you want, it means other Blood elves will look at you very bad for disrespecting the new name they adopted. Not knowing this and what it means, means not even knowing the lore you talk too much about. That’s called ignorance.

And yeah, I’m the most evil creature there is, no need to reminder :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m following the golden rule of gameplay before roleplay and to me these will still be blue eyed Blood Elves and bleached Void Elves.

But it opens up for creative roleplay for those who are interested in that. You could even make your Blood Elf a disillusioned Silver Covenant High Elf who renounced their loyalties to the Alliance after the slaughter in Dalaran. Or a simple High Elf pilgrim who fell in love with a Blood Elf in Silvermoon while visiting the Sunwell.

Only in an IC context. OOC I wouldn’t shame anyone for it, it is factually correct, IC however I would view it as extremely dishonourable and refusing to remember our fallen, which as with most Blood Elves, would not go down well.

That is an entirely credible idea. If it looks like a High Elf then playing it as a High Elf is surely an option on RP realms, however…

Do you have to be so thoroughly unpleasant towards people in arguments? In fact just do you have to be that way full stop, Like what was yesterdays little rant about, Telling people to go and eat a rotten rat? Was it because Blood Elves got Blue eyes and Void Elves got an option to look like High Elves? You think those are bad things, and were madly aggressive at those who thought those were good things? What was your thought process there?

This is a prime example. You have no reason to get so snide, aggressive and personal about things, when talking about a damned Video Game of all things. Get a sense of proportion.

Doubtlessly there is some trending fad on Twitch or Reddit or wherever, where abrasive unpleasantness is the current youthful trend of “Just being like, honest, man” But it is an ugly look. A Really ugly look.

Next time you compose a message, re-read it and think “Is it really worth being like this over a game, why not go for mildly sarcastic, rather than aggressive and personally attacking?”

Just a thought.

I haven’t agreed with a lot of what you’ve said in the past and etc, but I will say I actually agree that alliance have a better IC precedent to RP their thalassians as Helf than horde do.

OOC ppl will do whatever, but it makes more sense for horde to be blue eyed belf than helf, as someone not adopting their belf moniker residing in their city would be seen as quite offensive. So it pretty much limits helf horde RPers to not interacting with Silvermoon or the horde at all. Lor themar is pretty tolerant but I don’t think he’d be okay with people demanding belf resources and facilities whom want to cling to a name associated with the alliance and the abandonment of their homeland. I can’t see why any Helf determined to reunite with Silvermoon would be adamant on maintaining the title either.

What a beautiful brick of text that says nothing.

Oh, and that’s what you do? Saying someone is against something for what they are not against so they feel forced to justify themselves? That’s pretty sociopathic.

Just get lost, you have been too much in this little bubble of a thread.

As long as you don’t have delusions of holding absolute truth then I don’t give a damn about if you agreed with me or not.

Blah blah blah…

Blood elves changed the name of their race, High elves rejected it and didn’t come back to their homeland, staying in the Alliance.

Not calling yourself a Blood elf while being around these folks is disrespectful and makes you vulnerable to lose your dignity, that’s the lore, pretty simple, end of the story.

It’s the thing I explained previously (AKA repeated myself), but some of you just hate me and have some kind of cognitive dissonance when reading my posts. Not my problem.

Oh, so you are the guy with the soft swede brain, there is a ignoring function if you feel so much pain in the behind when looking at my posts.

Boohoo, the chair psychologist is crying again.

The audacity.

You are the one who needs to get lost. Nobody likes you, you insult people in your every post and you seriously need help.

I think your next ban is already overdue.

Dude, what is your problem? I literally posted I agree with you and added my take on why I do, and you just spit it back going on about people hating you and something about hoping I don’t suppose I hold notions of objective truth (nowhere is that even implied I my post).

It was more to signal that despite disagreement I can recognise sound arguments when I see them rather than whatever you’ve obviously taken it to mean. 🤷

I think the content was fairly clear, but I will break it down for you.

  1. Blood Elves would likely be extremely -disappointed- in a Blood Elf calling themselves a High Elf.
  2. It is perfectly possible to RP your Void Elf that looks like a High Elf as a High Elf on an RP server.
  3. Your attitude towards others vastly leaves something to be desired.

No, actually, that would be the direct opposite of Sociopathy. I was trying to understand your thought process, hence the question, a Sociopath would not have given a hoot about your thought process.

You directly insulted two people because they were rather happy with the new updates, so which was it, you are unhappy at the new updates? Or you simply wanted to pour some vitriol on people who were rather happy with the new updates?

I think I would be reasonably safe in saying my contributions have been of rather more relevance than yours, and certainly more civil, so I am afraid I shall refuse your angry sounding request.

Lack of concern for others however, is a trait of lacking empathy…Be careful what you call others, You now, the whole Glass Houses thing?

That is correct, yes. As I said.

Oh dear, you really can’t help yourself, can you?

Aido eat a snickers before you will get banned

I think its more than clear that I dislike entitled people who think they know more than anyone while acting pompous and pedantic over some lore and game that don’t even require such level of intricacies.

But acknowledging that would be a hit to the ego innit?

So. Anyone also hoping for a blond eyes option for the velves? Likely not, I suppose?

Do you mean the hair? I would like for them to have a silvery blonde, silver, gray, cool brown or black, but oranges, yellows and reds wouldn’t suit them at all.

if the combine Void elfs and Blood Elfs and give the pussible to be High Elfs

Why not red eyes for dark rangers ?

What privents them doing same with Night Elfs and Nightborn they also same Race.

So, apparently, Void Elves are getting fair skin tones and new eye colors. Sorry to say it, but I am not excited. If that’s the only result of three years of constant High Elves threads across all the forums, it just shows that Blizz are too dense or stubborn to get the essence of what people requested. They wanted a race that Blizz themselves featured as a part of the Alliance throughout the entire history of WoW, along with its history and background. Those who are happy about the new customization options probably don’t realize that they will still have tentacles sticking out of their hair, they will still have creepy voices and will still turn purple in combat every now and then. So, expect to see a ton of threads about blonde hair for VEs and requests to disable Entropic Embrace visuals (it’s already happening).

I feel like the new customization options are robbing Void Elves of their identity. To the outside world, fair-skinned VEs will already look exactly like High/Blood Elves, so I have no idea why Blizz didn’t introduce proper High Elves instead. It’s not like there is any technical limitation on the number of slots for Allied Races. With minimal effort, a bit of voice acting, a racial set + mount they could have kept people invested in grinding an associated reputation and leveling new toons over several months till Shadowlands and got a ton of money from Void Elves race-changing into High Elves. Questionable decisions are questionable. But if people like it this way in the end, good for them.

At some point I thought that it would be cool to have playable High Elves and would probably even race change a couple of characters into them but I have no interest in playing a fair-skinned Void Elf. At this point, I am more interested in new customization options for Night Elves. Hope they will be great!
