I think they tend to be very magically adept (Drow) and not really at all associated with nature, at least not in the way WoW’s Night Elves are.

Night Elves were concepted as traditional Dark Elves, with the purple skin and the matriarchal power structure, mixed with the traditional wood elf. There is no precise one to one with Dark Elves in other franchises.

I guess Nightborne might be a closer match now.

I always liked High Elves ever since I saw them on Stormwind, Outland, and Dalaran back in WOTLK.

Then we got the Void elf version and… it’s just not the same. I’ve been stuck with this Grey hair since September and I’m not even sure at this point they are going to do anything about the hair colors. So I just gave up and got bored with them. I think my actual hair turned grey while waiting

Night elves are currently looking waaay better and they got the most customization in the game too.

I wouldn’t. I’d play LOTRO if I wanted to play a goody two shoes elf. Fair play to those who do, but the Voidy customisations give them the ability to do that. I’d rather play an Elf from actual myth and legend, and that, that means a Blood Elf.

Which is weird, because it says Void Elf when you mouse over her, and she actually looks more Void Elf than most Void Elves when she uses her stuff, and she calls herself a Void Elf, and Blizzard have stated she was a Void Elf. What exact evidence are you using to suggest she is not?

Well, No. You are simply incorrect with Alleria, Blizzard have outright stated she is not a High Elf. She does not regard herself as a High Elf. The only person who does, is you. And you don’t get to make that decision.

Sylvanas is however an Undead High Elf. As well as a ridiculously overpowered Mary Sue retread of Kerrigan who needs eradicating from the game as soon as possible.

Point is she does look like a high elf , she just using void powers, calling her a void elf is actually incorrect because she was not changed like real void elves. Blood elves transformed into void elves.

Void elves are blood elves, and as we all know blood elves used to be high elves before renaming themselves, the difference is plainly political, although some people just insist we are void elves and will never be high elves.

Don’t let others tell you who you are. You form your character’s story as you wish.

My friendly advice to you would be to start embracing the Void concept. There are so many wonderful stuff we can achieve by embracing the Void. Perhaps we will succeed in pushing for an elegant, cosmic type of Void elves, with Starcursed hair effects and starry hair.
