Quel’dorei High Elves as an Alliance allied race (Part 1)

Ah you reminded me my good old DK Evilsmight, I’m pretty sure I did Silver covenant dailies with her back in the days of WOTLK. I’ll give her a login to see where her rep is at and farm more of it eventually ;D <3 thank you for the tips!

Thank you! I’ll go have a look xx maybe I can put together a little High elf set

…that coloUr of a piss really not “same” as you claimed.

Skin tone different. Eyes, well yes, eyes are that color. But rest are not. Not hairstyles, not hair color, not skin tone.

come on… That not even close to a high elves that are behind.

that color is literally Alleria’s hair color. also, Void elves have like… 4 shades of blondes. and brown, and white, and black, and red. you choose.

Its literally the same, like what?

well yes, Void elves have different hairstyles. But blood elves and High elves share the same harstyles, which was my point.

The skin tones, eye colors, and hair colors they both share look exactly the same, they’ve literally been taken from Blood elves

Anyway, while I would not mind a separate High elf race, it needs to have some unique features and not be a blatant copy paste. But if Dark Rangers become playable as separate race I would like us to get a separate High elf race instead.

They could have very much been a seperate race with uniqie braided hairstyles, blue tattoos, and farstrider-like racials something that is not arcane focused. because unlike the blood elves, they do not suck arcane from creatures which is the blood elves racial. Their starter zone would have been Windrunner’s overlook, Allerian Stronghold, or Quel’danil lodge.

But i guess it was too much work to add a unique voices, starter zone quest, etc so they were mixed with Void elves as customizations. same with the wildhammers and Brozebeard.

so void elfs?

Here is an idea i have been working on for a few days. Credits to Visna for the original idea.

“Thalassian Elves” (or maybe just Elves?) would be a single neutral race similar to Pandaren, but unlike Pandaren they would have faction specific customizations.

Horde Thalassian Elves would be the Blood Elves we all know and love today with the addition of San’layn/Dark Ranger inspired customizations.

Alliance Thalassian Elves would have all the Void Elf stuff we have now (and some more!) but with the addition of some more “wild/nature” (think Night Elf) inspired hairstyles, tattoos, and accessories. They are also a bit bulkier to mirror Night Elf/Nightborne and because i feel it fits the ranger/warrior look better than the “instagram model” look of Blood Elves.

“Thalassian Elves” would have a mix of Blood Elves and Void Elves current racials.

Passive Racials:

  • Inner Focus: Your ability casts are not delayed by taking damage.*
  • Fabulous: Reduces the cost of Transmogrification by 50%.
  • Arcane Affinity: Enchanting skill increased by 10.
  • Arcane Resistance: Reduces Arcane damage taken by 1%.

*Includes physical abilities like Hunter’s Aimed Shot.

Active Racials:

  • [Horde] Blessing of the Sunwell: Restore 1.5% of your mana, 10 Energy, 10 Rage, 10 Focus, 1 Holy Power, 1 Chi, or 10 Runic Power and increase all damage and healing done by 5% for 10 seconds. 1 Minute Cooldown.

  • [Alliance] Unbreaking Resolve: Restore 1.5% of your mana, 10 Energy, 10 Rage, 10 Focus, 1 Holy Power, 1 Chi, or 10 Runic Power and increase all damage and healing done by 5% for 10 seconds. 1 Minute Cooldown.

This racial is a combination of Arcane Torrent and Entropic Embrace but with the AoE dispell component removed, and the duration of the damage/healing bonus nerfed from 12 seconds to 10 seconds since you can now control it. Numbers probably need to be tweaked further.

  • Ethereal Connections: Summons an Ethereal that provides Transmogrification services for you and your party/raid. 1 hour Cooldown.

This is just a “fun” racial like Nightborne [Cantrips] or Dark Iron Dwarfs [Mole Machine]. And since Belves have also been dealing with Ethereals (not just Velves) i felt like this could fit, and Velves already had the name.

I would add a section for Classes here but since Blizzard mentioned every race will have access to every class at some point in the future, i am just going to skip it.

you said “same” as high elves. Which was not true and false.

Which are none of what high elves have. even blood elves don’t have that shade of a color from high elves.

It’s almost same yet different.

And i knew that you would jump on this and say this.

You said same same same, yet it’s different and different apart from eye coloUr.

only eye color, rest are different.

Hairstyles if some new ones okey, but those that silver covenant high elves have would be a must have.

Big no to “bulkier” body shape :S

Hmm, that could work. And I don’t have anything against San’layn/dark fallen being part of the horde. And I would like to have those old eyes the Silver covenant had since WOTLK or get the option of Sylvanas eyes of her new model. The normal blue eyes were they lost the eye glow due to the lack of mana. And that symbol for the Alliance Thalassian Elves would symbolize the union of the Alliance high elves and void elves. And I really like that symbol. The blue, silver and purple. Dalaran as their home would be great. Altough Dalaran could be bigger or as pictures been seen on the net that Dalaran has “landed”. Hopefully a spellbreaker class will come in the future for both factions.

But Hey, Im game.

Edit.
Hillsbrad Foothills could get an update/revmap where the surrounding areas of dalaran have been rebuildt as it was before it left and southshore become alliance again and cenarion circle is there trying to clean up after the forsaken.
Silver enclave could have a portal to both Stormwind and Telogrus rift. And some void elves have moved in to Dalaran so we get to see void elves walking in the streets of Dalaran. Magister Umbric could get invited to join the Dalaran council (Besides he is wearing Kirin tor robe so would make sense). Alliance would have their own magic city force once while horde has two. Silvermoon and Suramar.

Although I wish the heritage armor would be like Sylvanas armor or if they could combined Void elf heritage and and Sylvanas armor.

Or maybe the Alliance high elves can move in with the Night elves new home as it seems Tyrande was given a gift from the Wnter Queen.

Would be nice. Also, i hope we get new mega shiny tree with city like Suramar on top of it  Just more lunar stary themed with dragon blessings granting immortality once again. That would work for Silver Covenant too.

I love this idea!

Now like all allied races, the High Elves wouldn’t have a starter zone with lots of quests, but they could move to Crystalsong Forest where a High Elf Mage sets up a portal to Stormwind. Again, they’d have their own hairstyles as well - maybe a one or two copied from Humans, Blood Elves and Night Elves.

Darkfallen would be the same - perhaps starting in the Crimson Halls of Icecrown Citadel, which has been fortified by them with powerful Thalassian Magic. Naturally, a portal is set up for Orgrimmar.

Sounds pretty cool - but I don’t think the aspects have the powers to grant those blessings anymore? They lost their aspect power + their own immortality, I’m not sure whether they have the power to bless in the same scale anymore

Well who knows with dragonflight expansion, they can regain their powers.

Also
Umh…i hope that void elves will not receive high elf customization option so we will not get high elves as allied race…

too late

Not yet not yet. Void elves and blood elves still cant look identical to the high elves such as Silver Covenant high elves.

And we got Nightborne as an Allied Race that does not look like NPCs either.

No need for high elves, you can customize your blood elf to look like one, it is simple realy, blue eyes+lighter skin tone. And i doubt aliance will get high elves ever, due to void elves being a thing already.
