Quest return lost souls bug

this morning i did the night fae quest return lost souls. i did not hand it in. i then changed to venthyr and i am unable to hand in the night fae quest or even abandon it.

as i went through the venthyr quests i got the same quest return lost souls. how ever it gains no credit when i find a lost soul and now locked and unable to progress any further.

is there any chance you can just force remove the night fae version of return lost souls. so i can carry on with venthyr renown and not be locked out.

Same problem

Same issue, however from Venthyr to Night Fae in my case as reported here: Stuck on Renown 4 after Covenant Switch earlier today.

I didn’t notice this was the same issue as mine before making a separate thread (there were many issues with this quest not appearing last week and forums are swamped with them), so I’ll just keep to yours from now on, but this is clearly something that needs to be looked into urgently as it’s preventing multiple people from progressing their campaign.

I got a responsive from a GM, i asked him to remove it from my quest journal but they couldnt do it this was their answer:

Great question there and thanks for the ticket. I’m bummed to hear about the other Lost Souls quest
Even more so because this is one of those quests that not even a Game Master can remove!

Fortunately, we are aware of this and are working on a solution. There is currently no workaround.

Note: this is caused by having the quest for the old covenant completed, but not handed in. If the quest is not completed, it will abandon properly. If swpaping covenants, make sure these sort of quests are turned in before moving, or not completed, at least until changes can be made.

Tbh if they don’t fix this before wednesday i really don’t know what to do it feels like my character is just ripped now

same! At least Zuljerath got a decent response. Mine didnt help! Glad to hear they are aware of the bug

I feel exactly the same.

I’ve put so much time into this character over the years, 1239 days 23 hours to be precise and I actually feel so lost and hopeless in this game right now due to a simple quest bug and a once great Customer Service experience turned into a nightmare.

Is it maybe one that GM’s can flag as complete rather than looking to abandon the broken one or do GM’s not have any power to solve any in game issue these days?

The power a normal GM to “complete” quests for players was removed a couple of expansions ago, when a GM crashed an entire server doing so.

Now its restricted to senior GM’s and developers, or at least thats what I am told.

Hey folks,

We have an article up for this quest and Replenish the Reservoir which are very similar issues right now. Dev team are already working on it. Hotfix hopefully soon.

Will it be resolved before Wednesday and if not will it be compesated or should i just start making a new druid since this is just ripped?

Ye
I’m wondering if I should keep playing or uninstall the game. I mean I pay for this and if the issue won’t be resolved by reset and I won’t be able to complete this quest I really don’t feel like paying more.

So 5 days, no fix and still no response in game to tickets. Great!
This issues has been occurring since the start of the week, no doubt others are falling into this trap which Blizzard are aware of and seem to be leaving in place until, what? Maintenance this week?

I am actually going out of my mind here. I am so stressed out and frustrated about this issue that it’s affecting my ability to sleep or think about anything else! I’m constantly checking forums, logging into the game praying I have a response and I can get on with playing and be able to catch up before raiding starts next week.

Thanks for letting us know you’re at least aware of the issue, however it’s now time to tell us what is being done about it and when we can expect this to be resolved.

I don’t believe anything is being done about this until maintenance as we surely would have seen a fix before now considering there were hotfixes applies last week for very similar issues with souls being unobtainable by people switching covenants and they’ve known about this for some time now.

We are unable to gain our redeemed souls! Our campaigns have ground to a halt for a WEEK! I don’t see how this can be any less important than the people encountering issues on week 1.

Please direct your efforts towards paying customers unable to play the game, because reading about some dude getting a direct ticket response after 4 hours, being able to log in and play without an active subscription just infuriates me even more.

Just to note my ticket response time after having a ticket open for 4 days is now 12 days 8 hours. It started on 11 days.

Yeah it is ridiculous Since we are now jsut going to be behind on Renown and Those redeemed souls there is no way we can catch up now, i hope they will compesate for it but knowing blizzard that won’t happen anyway ;/

Guys! It’s Fixed!!!

At least for me. I did my habitual 30min quest glance and noticed the completed version was gone from my tracker, gone from my log also and the hand in was no longer showing in my old sanctum. I rushed to the Maw and was able to collect the 5 souls and able to hand in the quest with my new covenant gaining renown 5 and my 5 souls allowing me to progress my campaign.

I can’t report past this atm, The Jailer is not a happy boy with me today, so might have to wait until tomorrow to carry on as I believe the next part involves the Maw.

Strange thing is, I got a ticket response at the same time saying there was no ETA on a fix. Fantastic communication and again another automated response when I had actually opened another ticket with the view of looking for a refund if this issue persisted.

Good luck folks. I hope you all manage to get this completed in time.
