World of Warcraft recently held this poll across various social media

So where do you fall?

When a new expansion starts i also starts reading them again. And then you get to a hub that gives you 3 quests or more at once and from there i am not bothering at all anymore.

On my first run through I read everything. It’s one of the many reasons I can’t level with anyone else when it comes to new content. I like to take my time and enjoy it all, take it all in.

However with alts it’s just pick it up and go.

I read them if it’s my first time doing it. Also maybe if I’ve not done an expansion for a while and don’t remember all the story.

I use the Storyline AddOn which breaks up the text into smaller chunks with bigger font so is easier to read.

Religiously on the first run. Then whenever I need a refresher.

Somewhere between 3 and 4.

If there was more substance to a lot of it I’d read it. Most of it is just vapid rubbish or some other contrived reason to farm 8 hearts from bears that inexplicably don’t have them.

Depends on which zone I am in. If I am interested in the zone then I’ll read it, otherwise I will probably just grind through it. Some of the zones/quest lines are really good

I read all text, and I talk to all NPCs that I can talk to, some even pestering them until they use the annoyed voiceline.

I always read the first time on this main, and skip on alts.

Seeing how TWW will track quests you’ve done it’d be nice if there was an auto-turn in and accept for quests already done.

Real men don’t read instructions and we don’t ask for directions!

If I ever die because that badly built shelf collapses on my head or dehydration takes me because I’m not where I think I am (not lost!) then so be it…

Tbh rarely, it’s not the kind of game I play for the plot, there are some great questlines tho.

Barely.

I’ll read if it’s something of interest but some random kill x amount of monsters or collect some trash - no, I just accept it instantly and go about doing my business.

Usually only the first time, but lately not even always then. I read the first lines: if there’s something interesting I read it, otherwise if it’s the usual I need help kill these for X reason, I skip it

I read quest text only when killing a mob doesn’t change 0/10 to 1/10.
