Question about progressing as solo player

I wonder, I have no time to play a lot, like many other people. So, can I still have nice gear but play mostly solo, without dungeons and raids in Wow classic?

Farm gold ,buy AH epics, wait for honor rewards, slowly ding your rank up to 10, Congratz! With blue pvp set and some random epic off parts ure eligible to pwn every pve hero out there

Yes, I like pvp but not much raids and dungeons, like to quest a bit, but mosty I enjoy pvp, and battlegrounds.

You really don’t have time to run a dungeon? If you play for 15 min a day you don’t need any “better” gear then

But on a serious note if you don’t want to go through main raiding progression you can get quite good gear from dungeons and some end-game quests depending on class. Later on more gear will be added to the dungeons, often way better than like in MC.

Aside of that there will be ZG and AQ20 - those are catchup raids and you can expect a lot of PUGs going on. It will be similar to a dungeon run experience, plus not as long as normal raid. ZG has an epic set plus lots of good gear and some BoE you could find on AH. AQ20 drops tokens you can turn in for weapon, ring and cloak which are nice. Plus some other gear directly from that raid.

And then Cenarion Circle event as well as Argent Dawn event will have turn ins for gear - you farm things, you turn in and get selected gear. The better stuff will need a lot of farming though.

Crafted gear can also be good/decent depending on class.

If you don’t have a lot of time to play we’ll rule out PvP rewards.

Nearly all “nice gear” comes from dungeons (or related quests) and raids. Therefore your only option is to farm gold and crafting mats and get crafted gear or BoE items from AH. Mind you, a good share of them are worse than tier 1 which requires just a few hours of raiding per week as opposed to farming for a week or longer to get the gold for one item. Vanilla is quite cruel for “going solo”. Nice, meaningful rewards almost always require cooperation with other players.

you will have no good gear if you play solo and can’t raid

not really…

if you farm a TONNE of gold you can buy some op stuff tho like lionheart helm for warrior bis till bc

No chance.

No time to play = You’re either gonna have to buy it from AH or have no good gear at all.

“Nice gear” is quite vague. What’s nice gear in your understanding?

I can tell you this much. With a decent guild, an mc + ony clear currently takes 2-3 hours. If you can shedule that once a week, you can get good gear without much time investment.

Play minesweeper

As a priest, you can craft a piece of pre-raid best in slot through Tailoring: Truefaith Vestments. Tailoring and Enchanting also gives you nice gear and wands as you level but the ones you get in dungeons and raids will almost all the time be better than general crafted gear.

However, if you play solo, you don’t need anything better than what you acquire through questing and crafting anyway, IMO. And, yes, it is possible to solo in Classic. I enjoy questing. And, you can do the outdoor elite 5-man quests as well in zones as you level.

Gold is your friend, if you can’t farm it outiright learn how to invest.
As someone who is playing a rogue, it can sometimes take 4-5 hours in LFG before i can find a single group running anything that needs a DPS rather than a tank, so it’s much more convenient to do some farming and simply buy carries for BIS

This goes for PvP too, you can get rank 10-11 playing solo, do BGs for 3-5 hours a day and camp flightmasters in WPvP until then and you’ll have a nice set of PvP gear

There’s a simple answer.

If you’re not inclined to do dungeons, Battlegrounds or end game content, then there’s absolutely need to have the best gear. Standard gear will be fine.

If your going to be spending your time mostly questing then you can make for yourself some perfectly decent armor sets by learning a crafting profession - all of which will make you more-than powerful enough to do solo content.

Learning a crafting profession also gives you another aspect of the game to focus upon, and one that you don’t need to rush - you can just work on it in your spare time.

Over and above that, quest rewards appropriate for your level will also be perfectly good enough for solo play.

You really only need best in slot gear if you’re planning to do the hardest content. Even if you do decide to do a few dungeons now and again, you’ll be fine in standard gear.

First off, if you don’t PvP or PvE, what do you want “nice gear” for? You can do quests or develop professions “in greens”. Anyway, there are some excellent world drops and craftable items, but if you don’t do any dungeons you’ll miss not only drops but very interesting quest rewards as well; the best come from group quests.

You don’t have to play “a lot” to get gear, you just need to use your time efficiently. About an hour is enough to do a Stratholme wing for example. A full BRD can take in the order of 3-5 hours, but it is a very open dungeon where you can choose your own path.

Try to find an active guild where you can arrange your dungeon runs. Say for example you want to do BRD arenas this saturday evening; find a few friends, log out at the portal, log in on time, and you can do several runs in half an hour.

Bear in mind Classic WoW offers very little to solo players, so you’ll quickly find you have nothing to do if you don’t play with others.

Make a toon that can farm gold as well. I am a solo player, my hours are 23:30 till about 01:00 GMT. I play a rogue but have a mage prepared for farming purposes as well as a few gold hussles.
