Answer: They actually ban Them. First ban for macro= Perm. Ban. You Will get detected instantly. If this do not get Better Soon i Personally Will quit.
It’s actually a really big shame that blizzard don’t ban bots. The game could have been amazing, but with the amount of bots in every mid/high level zone it just ruins it.
Jagex have done well to remove bots and put people before profit which blizzard don’t seem to do any more.
It didn’t change since 15 years and you expect Blizzard to change it soon? Sad optimism mate.
huge difference monitoring 200000 players versus Xmillions
Majority of players are running the same bots. A quick google search will find the most popular ones.
Surely a million dollar company can make an attempt to ban bots?
TBH there is not that huge difference, in both scenarios you will need automatic tools to handle this as no company can hire so many people to scan every player 1 by 1.
I’m thinking about that for many many years, simple google search can show whole black market about WoW and no one from Blizzard just tried to investigate, just lol.
Runescape has the same issue as WoW has. So I dont see the comparison.
Ban 1, 2 more pop up, the circle is never ending.
They are doing that, the issue is that they make such an ammount of real life money so to make a new account does not affect them.
if you really want to remove bots forever, players themself have to stop buying gold period.
So the blame is not all on Blizzard, we ( or they who buy gold ) need to stop buying gold online.
Which is never going to happen, many people want to go easy way, pay few euros instead of week worth of grinding for example. I would be glad if Blizz made restriction 1 account per 1 human being, that would get rid of multiboxers also. How to check if someone logs from two separate accounts? MAC adress for example., 2 accs from the same? Ban.
Therefor, bots will never disapair completely.
Like i said, we the community is part of the problem, but it’s easier to look the other way and blame Blizzard one and only for botting and for not getting rid of them all, which is in fact a huge task.
What you suggested comes with an variety of problems and legal issues.
Tracking and personal privacy just to mention a few.
I agree with you on that, but telling other people “don’t cheat” “don’t buy gold on 3rd party sites” is like sitting next to McDonald’s and shouting to people to not eat there. They all know it is unhealty but tastes too good to not try. Consequences - perma bans, bans for ip or mac, things like these may work. #noaccountsuspension #bringbackpermabans
Edit: I wonder why Blizzard does so stupid with bans for 6 months, they want botters and hackers to come back to their game?
Griefing, offensive language, things coming out of affection would come with a week ban.
Intentional hacking/exploiting/botting - perma ban
It’s a daunting task indeed.
The issue with banning accounts is that you have to be 110% sure.
remember when [ insert game here as I dont remember the name ] did a mass bann involving 100’s of players got banned for no reason at all?
Oh the drama…
One can only wonder, but from the bots i remember back in the day ( never cared much for them tbh ) was hunters in greens farming in Azhara. So banning for more than 6 months does not solve the issue as it’s just as fast creating a new account, getting boosted by the other bots? to max level and start grinding.
Haha i have sad conclusion for this, Blizzard would make more money on perma bans, so botters/hackers would need to buy more BFA expansions for their new accounts.
Long term bans, rather than permanent ones. Have the merit, that people who gets their main account back following such a lengthy ban will be less likely to break the rules again. So rather than make 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th then 6th 7th and 8th account, all exploiting the games by botting and other means. They get their account back, albeit far into the future, then actually care about that account.
From what i have heard over the years. From anecdotal evidence. Blizzard will permanently close accounts, that they are convinced exist for the sole purpose of creating in game gold, items or other services for the purpose of selling said things for real life money.
Whereas actual customers account, will only be permanently closed following repeated infractions.
if you’ve got the brain of an american why do you post on EU forums?
learn to insult better next time
got you to reply you dough brained idiot :’)
Happy to make your day.
Blizzard do ban bots, but not before they’ve made millions of gold and transferred it to their real accounts. They use banwaves, which I have always thought is a really bad idea, they claim they study them, do you need more than one to study? No.
Bots need banning quickly and PERMANENTLY, none of this six month rubbish, a ban forever. These botters get their old accounts back every six months to bot on again.
In what timeline does Old School Runescape not have bots, the f2p worlds are notorious for being full of bots and it remains a constant problem in osrs just as it is in wow. What are you people on about
