I really want to play wow classic HC, but I have a couple of questions.
If my internet goes down or my house lights go out, will blizzard help me recover after my character dies?
They did not mention it, but common sense says the answer is no.
Blizzard has no way to know whether your internet went down, or whether you deliberately yanked out the network cable because your character was about to die to a bad pull.
You might have a video of what happened, but they do not have the manpower/resources to manually check every such appeal since they would be absolutely swamped by them if they allowed them. What worked for the relatively small HC community won’t work when there’s a whole official HC server full of HC players.
Just IMHO, of course.
No, deaths will be permanent on hardcore servers, that’s a risk everyone should take.
Short answer is NO.
Its too easy to abuse this system, because if you accidentally pull too many mobs, you can always alt+f4,shut the game, and claim it was real disconnection.
They did say they are putting something in place to check some deaths, it was in the live stream.
- Blizzard will be implementing new mechanics to prevent disconnect deaths, such as falling from a flight after a disconnect.
- Similar to Diablo, Blizzard will not be restoring characters under any circumstances. But they are listening to player feedback on the PTR to see if there are things they can change to prevent unfair deaths.
