I thought this would be a fun game so here are some questions about your characters backstory to answer:
Where was your character born?
Dawning Row, Silvermoon.
How old is your character?
1,404, he only knows the precise number because one of his late wives was a scribe/accountant and was pedantic about such things.
What was their childhood like?
A mix of both cold, and comfortable, The Summerisles were a Magisterial family, as such whilst not noble were what we would class as âcomfortably Middle Classâ. He never wanted for anything as a child, however with that came a price, Summerisle children were -expected- to become Magisters or Magistrixi. This is all fine and well if they have Arcane leanings, but whilst Brigante did dutifully study, he had no actual talent for the Arcane beyond the average, which is a terrible thing for such an Arcane based society, as a result, whilst his mother was supportive, his father became cold and diffident towards him, regarding the boy as ânot quite up to scratchâ and favouring his younger siblings, who -did- show Arcane Talent. To be honest, apart from his older brother, and younger brother and sister, his childhood was fairly spartan and loveless.
What made them choose to be the class they are?
One day the young boy ran from his lessons, he knew he would get in trouble later, but for now, running was his victory, he could take in the spellcraft theory, and the principles of Arcane manipulation, but when it came to actually implementing it he just didnât have the ability. So he ran, he ran, knowing he would face his fatherâs fury later on for absconding from his lessons, and as he sat, upon a grassy hill, he heard it. The Skirling cry of a Dragonhawk, he looked upwards in time to see a flight of four Dragonhawk riders in formation, on a random patrol of the skies of Quelâthalas.
He was nine years old, he had looked at the skies, dreamed of being an eagle, and fell in love all at once. He would -be- the greatest Dragonhawk rider ever knownâŠAs soon as he was adult, he contested to join the Farstriders, and the rest is history.
Have they ever been in a relationship?
Heâs 1,404 years old, heâs been in plenty. Possibly the most tragic was with âthe girl next doorâ an on/off relationship that had started when they were both children in the usual childish way, with teasing and hair pulling, then as they became adults something deeper, As a long lived race, Elves donât rush things, it wasnât until Rachayelleâs family took a stance against the new teachings of draining Mana, that trouble struck. By this time Brigante had a more than thousand year career as a Farstrider and Dragonhawk Rider behind him, he was a devout Patriot, and could not leave his country, He could not, would not leave his country, and so it was a tearful farewell between him and Rachayelle as she went into Exile. He later found out she was bearing his child, a young boy who she named Durovante. History may have turned out happier, had her choice of where to dwell been better.
But then. No one could have expected Theramore.
That was the point that tipped Brigante from âdisapproving of Garroshâ into âOpen Rebellionâ
Since then he has married twice, once to Ensoria Grey, a studious, innocuous looking soul yet with an acerbic tongue, and also a writer of a lot of Silvermoonâs âtop shelfâ literature, a fact none would guess. Brigante never read any of her books, almost afraid he would see reflections of their private lives in there. They had a son, Asharion, who tragically died during the recent Legion invasion. He is currently married to a woman called Tarrithael, or âRed Sevenâ as she is also known (She is an espionage agent for Silvermoon), they have two infant children, twins, a brother and sister, Laindor and Kayrissa.
What do they like to do to relax?
He likes reading. He is an absolute culture vulture, but what he really likes? What really calms him, perhaps because of the destruction he causes in warfare, is creation. He loves taking parts and making a whole, in short, he loves cooking. He is an incredibly gifted chef, he loves to cook, What started as basic training in his early days as a Ranger, as to how to live off the land, became a hobby, then a passion, then a skillset such that he could walk away from the Dragonhawks and into a job at a top restaurant as itâs head chef. It calms him.
What is one secret about the character that very few people or no one knows about?
He believes, or doesnât believe, but sort of believes, that the Skies are a Woman. He has anthropomorphised them in his mind. Not as in an actual Deity with a name, just this nebulous âThe Skiesâ thing, a scary, wild crazy blue yonder, whoâs hair is fluffy and white as the clouds, whose mood is as fickle as a thunderstorm, who cries, rants, rages with thunder and lightning, but then shows love and smiles when sun breaks through the clouds. He is a little bit worried that this private belief is a little too similar to Loa worship, but has never found an appropriate way of asking any of his Troll associates about this.
What is their favourite mount?
He doesnât have one. He has a mount, a Hawkstrider provided to him by the state as befits an Officer for ceremonial purposes, a magnificent white-ish grey Hawkstrider called âHotspurâ. He doesnât have a favourite mount. He has a Battle-Brother. His Winged Self. Sunspear, third of that line. A massive blue/silver crossbreed Dragonhawk, they are all but inseparable, the bond between them is akin to telepathy, as it is for all of the Sun Hawks and their Battle Brother/Sister, Like his rider, Sunspear shows the nicks and scars of a life of combat, and is, in the words of Brigante âA Beautiful, bragging Bullyâ Certainly Sunspear is very certain of his position as the âAlphaâ of the Sun Hawks Dragonhawks, however also nurturing of the smaller ones, the reds and the gold breeds, and not just those, Sunspear is fiercely protective of the âhatchlingsâ of his âWingless Selfâ, and Laindor and Kayrissa can freely clamber around the vast creatureâs coils at no risk of harm, and several times have been found peacefully sleeping under the blanket of his vast feathered wings. Brigante trusts Sunspear with his life, and his childrenâs lives, and vice versa.
Weapon of choice?
He doesnât really get emotional about weapons. He has a longbow, he has paired sabres, he has a spear, the spear has a name, it is called Duranâdal Its a bit magic. Heâs actually just an âaverageâ archer for a Farstrider, which is still massively superior to most folks, He is a bit nifty with his two sabres, and Duranâdal feels like cheating, it has a Chronomancy enchantment, allowing him and those around him to act swifter, with keener reaction times, than enemies, however at the cost of his own physical energy.
Who is their best friend and how did they meet them?
Well, apart from Sunspear, who is emphatically his best friend, and not a mere Mount, that would probably have been Asharion, who he met during service together in two units, the Ashen Company, and the Bloodied Talons, that were later merged due to losses, as the Dawnguard. They were friends to a degree that Brigante named his (Unfortunately ill-fated) son Asharion after his friend.
