Racial Balance in Dragonflight

Do you guys think Blizzard will balance racials in Dragonflight or will this issue be ignored again?

Why do they punish people for playing the races they love? Idk about PvE racial balance nowadays but PvP is like “If it can be an orc, it must be an orc” and it feels terrible.

Some suggestions come like “remove them, nerf orc, nerf human” but I think the solution is somewhere else.

Why not buff other racials? Why not make, for example, Lightforged Draenei Racial ability actually deal damage?

I think any Combat Designer from Blizzard can sit and take a look at the current state of Racial Ability Power in any 1500+ PvP bracket and come to a conclusion that this must be fixed.

Can we play other races in competitive PvP without feeling scammed/less powerful that we are not one of those hotshot races?

I would be surprised if Dracthyr aren´t broken beyond repair for at least a couple of month into the expansion. Same happened to DKs and same happened to DHs. Especially in PvP.

Anyway, maybe they´ve learned something by now?

From a design perspective, it is much more efficient to just tone down the overperformers, and buff the underperformers, than to buff everything collectively.

And personally I feel that unless you turn racials off completely in PvP you will never see a racial balance that people will be happy with.

Lightforged racial deals AoE damage, so I do not think that they will touch it.

Yes, that players will roll the new thing and play it cause it’s overpowered, let them smash other people around for a patch or two then nerf the hell out of the class so they rerollers can go back to their original class and thus spend more time paying for subs.

just have to change orc reduce damage taken while stuned by 1% and bam done
human is gina good too but so is gnome/dwarf/irondwarf/tauren/nightelf

Racials provide a one or two% dps bonus, … sometimes… like… unless you’re a Cutting edge mythic pleb, noone is going tno notice the difference

yes this is the case

Except for Orc they give 20% instead of 1% for some reason only Gnome has a 5% Mana Passive

So the Difference between a 1 and a 20 is pretty big if u ask me and on top of that they get a half onuse trinket and 1% more PetDMG

I don’t particularly care since I don’t think it’s an issue.

Ooooh this is about PvP. Right. REALLY don’t care then.
But… Here’s a very simple solution: Have all racials be deactivated in PvP.
You’re welcome for this elegant solution.

They should honestly boil the racials down to cosmetic and mildly convenient stuff, rather than stats and procs.

Lately there are many complaints about this problem in EU and US forums. I hope blizzard reads you and especially, that they nerf the orc racial

Keep pressing!

/Stop orcs!!!

Only for arenas. Let BGs be a place to have fun

You mean lazy? Because it is lazy and unprofessional.

That’s basically an illusion imo. Sure, some races are better for some classes (which is intended). But I personally feel never “punished” for playing my favorite race with the classes I like.

There’s no reason that makes sense to not disable racials in PvP. It’d be much better for everyone if they’d just disable all racials and let people play the race they want simply for the looks of it.

I don’t about pvp but for pve racials are balanced. They are more about utility and the difference in performance is so small as to one can literally play anything.

It would work.
And lazy? Just because it’s a simple solution? Pfff.

You know what would be unprofessional? Changing aspects of a whole game just because a niche group has some issues with certain aspects of the game. This is a PvP issue, so it should be solved without impacting PvE at all. Which I did.

You’re welcome.

It’s not being ignored. They doing Cross Faction. Play as whatever race you want and who ever you want.

Choose the best, play the best if that’s your thing.

If a solution is to remove something instead of working on it to end up with a better result that’s not only unprofessional, it is also lazy.

PvP is not a different game by the way, and there’s lots of examples of abilities and perks that have their effects tweaked for PvP, as rogue’s blind ability that doesn’t last a minute but 10 seconds.

Some times I’m grateful some people on the forums don’t develop the game, even accounting for the mistakes of the devs.

If the solution is to the detriment of other parts of the game, removing it only for the particular activity it is a problem in, is the most logical solution. That’s not lazy; it’s common sense.

I did not say it is. I’m saying it’s a particular niche part of the game at large.
And so it should not be the thing that dictates big overarching changes for the whole game.
That’s what I said.

Me too man. Me too.
