Racial/class stereotypes in Classic

Anyone notice trends with classes or races in terms of the characters of players? Like, I really notice that female trolls (although sometimes really lovely people) tend to be cold/mean types, that don’t respond, ninja items/chests when out in the world, don’t buff etc. Orc hunters seem to be the stereotype huntard (am I wrong?) and male trolls tend to be pretty chilled people from my experience. Any other generalisations that can be made about other race/class (combos)? My experience is purely Horde side from the start of Classic, but this is what I recognise. Obviously generalisations don’t apply to everyone, I’m sure my class/race has its own. What do you guys find?

My main is Tauren Shaman, any stereotype there?

Undead rogues, they’re now all on my KoS list, I use to leave low levels alone and leave them questing, I use to carry on questing myself whilst an undead rogue quested near me.

This is all a distant memory.

They all go for the kill eventually, it’s usually just a matter of time, too often have I let one live and then been cheap shotted and attacked whilst attacking a quest mob.

The hate flows through me now along with the fell in my small gnomes blood, they all die and they all die running in fear with my amplified curse of agony slowly killing them.

That’s the scariest thing I’ve ever read on these forums :hushed:

the new thing seems to be that especially horde mages seem to be entitled and self centered people that think they are better than everyone else, demanding monetary compensation for every little favor. Also, most of them are not good at playing their class and fail to understand the concept of threat, kill order or crowd control.
I would always tip another class helping me out with water, buffs, transportation, lockpicking or whatever, but demanding it is just wrong in a game.

Never trust a male gnome. They WILL try to kill you when you turn your back on them.

I resent that…

…although it’s true…

Some things that I noticed, obviously only my personal experience:

Dwarfs tend to do some very light RP even on non RP realms. They are often outspoken and down for all kinds of dumb stuff.

Gnomes are either very funny, light-hearted folks or the most toxic blokes imaginable. Also the most selfish and ignorant pricks all appear to play male gnome mage.

Literally every male night elf druid is a noob. Every single competent druid I met played a female charakter.

Humans cant really be categorized, it seems to me every demographic is equally inclined to play human.

In my experience, people who have undead as main character usually got some sort of mental disorder IRL.

Psychotic, paranoid, bitter personality (or maybe it is sort of a roleplay).

Whoever you are, horde or alliance - never trust an undead !

Hmm…

Humans: can be anything from uberskilled hardcore to dude who tries to walk but says “wwwwwwwwwwww” instead. Generally anti-Horde players who are proud to be an Ally instead of an “ugly furry living in mud hut”. They also seem to jump while walking way too much.

Orcs: they like to fight. A lot. Usually roaring and charging at you as soon as you get spotted. Also pretty chilled out, socialble and easy to befriend when out of combat, would drink vodka with them.

Gnomes: usually very skilled and old WoW players who just beat the game long time ago and simply don’t care anymore (as they still can obliterate you with a sharpened letter opener if they want to). They are here to have fun (usually at your cost) and to just annoy other players.

Trolls: always chilled, taking things slowly (despite the racial cd). Can’t say a sentence without at least a single “mon”. Will always /dance with ya and protect you from the voodoo.

Night elves: somehow slow on the uptake, they really like to keyturn. Will look at the pack of 4 mobs for a minute before running into them and dying. Also really friendly.

Undeads: ganksters /rofling at your corpse while devouring it. They seem to hate Allys to the core, always expressing their contempt in the chat. Lots of them produce good crit montages with metal and Celldweller-like music.

Taurens: something between Orcs and Trolls. Will get angry when /moo’d at.

Dwarves: beer.
