Rofl how I LoL to those guys who want to be âperfectâ speced for anyhting they encounter, they whine like pigs about covenants because they cannot be âperfectâ for anything, cant disrespect more people obsession with numbers, this specimen just took next step and shoot the racials
You guys constantly trying to turn WoW into action RPG
May I ask you something, In life when you enter in tavern full of girls, do you have perfect spec for all of them ? Whats trill of the hunt if you are perfect to catch them all.
PS. Learn to deal with pros and cons of your spec and racial its called a SKILL
Covenant or racial its same demand by those guys and it is:
"Gief us ability to respec before anything we encounter because we want to be perfect for anyhing. "
Truth is:
Half people love this respecing before anyhting
Half people hate this respecing before anything
Se we gonna have respecable talents, yet unrespecable covenant, to me we it looks like we meet on halfway, so anyhting is fine. deal is fair
Respecable racials: from my part, big no, why? because I think respecing before evry encounter is stuff of low skill. And i really think people shoud learn to deal with pros and cons of their spec not be perfect for all. Its my opinion, you may have other opinion, but in bottom line there is people like me and people like youâŚso we meet in halfway, covenants is there to equalize.
The thing is, if you hate respeccing you dont have to respec even if itâs possible. You have the choice to not do it, we who want respec donât have a choice.
Why does it matter to you if we have the choice when it doesnât affect you?
Im not saying you need to have any achievement to make the theoretical point. Im saying that you dont in practise perform at the level where the choice is even to be considered.
Im not against removing racials to help people feel less âforcedâ into choosing race. Im simply saying YOU dont need to, because YOU arent on that level of play.
No double standard or paradox what so ever. Its just you throwing out words to attempt to defuse counter arguments.
Its fake choice, i mean yes i have choice, but since others gonna respec I must do the same, or be inferior vs others. So it isnt a choice its pure tempo upon players.
So weâre going to ignore how basically troll is a powerhouse race for 90% of casters during at least the first half of every expansion cause of the on-demand haste
or how nelf is a must have race choice for rogue in pvp, or how orc hardiness/human freedom is actually disgusting.
That negates the RP elemental of an MMORPG, and people would just pick the best one of their class, which essentially just makes it essential to swap between each trait when you swap specs.
It has everything to do with it.
Some people playing this game want TOTAL control over every detail that affects their characterâs performance. This is the same kind of thing; you want to control everything about your character. Well, tough.
Differences between the various races is good. It creates more uniqueness. An orc hunter is not COMPLETELY the same as a gnome hunter. And that is not only logical; itâs cool.
So sorry, I fundamentally disagree with you. Races should keep that little bit of uniqueness they have left.
I arguably auto lose into any good nelf rogue, yes. The pressure he has with a on demand silence, where as I do not. The free resets you get with nelf over worgen. The extra use / access of having access to stealth abilities for free once every 2 mins (?) is pretty big when it lines up with vendetta.
You could of argued the same vs humans since the dps can always use relentless trinket over a gladiators medallion since the only thing a dps wants to trinket vs rogue is kidney, so human covers them there.
Viable when the content isnât a big deal, the minute you want to start feeling competitive you have to race change yes. Especially in PVP, though youâre always welcome to tell me why unironically there was no goblin or worgen or draenei (?) etc at the AWC this year, or the lastâŚor the one before that.
So itâs better if you get locked into being inferior? Are you gonna pick the choice that is most optimal for you or are you gonna pick the one that is the most fun?
If you pick the fun one, do you think its fair to your team when you play high end content that you perform sub-optimally? Are you ok with not being invited to high end content because you pick the wrong choice?
Personally I prefer to be able to change so I can have the most optimal when playing progression and switch to the most fun when doing farming.
Yes exactly⌠Because respecing before evry encounter kills entire purpose of talent tree and choices, and its not fun, it actualy make game dull and boring. It makes people obeseesed with numbers, yet they lack of brain to interpreet them.
Just look what this respecing did to PvP, instead of playing with pros and cons of their spec people build counters, so arena games look more turn based than real play, when those gates open you exactly know what enemy has. Its not fun and thank the good blizzard realized that and make covenants to somewhat fix the issue.
Look I dont care about your numbers, its people fault if they are obsessed with numbers not blizzard, its their noobishment if someone dont know how to value utility over number, its people being sheeps if they follow guides instead arange spec toward their own playstyle, this need to stop, and it gonna stop with covenant at some degree.
Those people who not invite you are stupid sheeps who just copy /pasted their spec and they want others to do the same⌠im always ready to teach them where they belong.
Sub optimaly not means you wont be able to kill boss, or that player preform bad, maybe you gonna shine on first boss, but your firend will shine on next, then you on third etc⌠like with girlsâŚmaybe blondes dont like you, but you got good specs for redheads⌠got it now? u cannot have sheeps and money in same time. So in most cases you wont be able to carry blonde and redhead to your home in same time, this is how thinks work in life, this is how things shoud work in game to⌠not that stupid mindset about being perfect for aynthing
Im 100% glad that blizzard saw this issue I writed above, and wont let you respec covenants without friction. For me this is top1 expansion feature and i like it to no end.
Holy truth is: Skilled player will know how to use his pros as advantage yet play arond his cons, in opposite noobers want to be perfect for anyhting, i dont care if this hurt some people but this is truth clean as elune tear, and blizzard know it, thats why you gonna have those covenants with friction.
In this scenario its not problem in racials, but in what blizzard gief to certain race.
Racials are there to spice things up.
Situations when people say âYou must play human or undead to reach gladiator are bad, actualy very bad for gameâ , race shoudnt affect the game to that degree. So all they need to re-tune those âgodlikeâ racials, and bring them in line, and problem solved.
I would agree with you if you were only casually doing random BGs and normal raids.
There are a lot of different mechanics between the bosses in current raids, some require a lot of CC others mobility and some damage mitigation. Some classes are able to do all fairly well with only one build due to good baseline utility.
Others have to change their build to fit the need.
As a warrior, one of my talent rows makes me choose between mobility, self-heal or CC. My default is always mobility but sometimes CC is required and if nobody else has it some has to change their talents to get it.
If nobody could change their talents we would simply have to replace people to be able to handle that part of the encounter.
One example is HC Ilâgynoth, I hated that boss more than anything because my old raid team was very melee heavy. If our only two ranged got mind controlled it was most likely a wipe. Had it not been for us changing our talents and essences we would never get that boss down in progression.
We switched to Focusing Iris so that melees had a ranged ability to break out MCed people.
We only had 3 choices. Cancel the raid, replace people or change our builds.
And I will choose changing builds before replacing people and calling off the raid.
And itâs not like people change builds before every encounter, most people have a default build and sometimes have to change a talent for a boss that has unusual mechanic.
If we couldnât change our builds the raids, dungeons and pvp would have to reflect that by removing a lot of mechanics.
Which would make the content pretty dull.
OR we would have to build groups based on the builds the people uses. Cutting out a lot of people from the content because the utility that persons build bring is already provided by somebody else. And itâs better to bring somebody else that has a build with different utility.
It is already the case in M Raids, high M+keys and higher ranked PvP where certain classes and specs are valued waay higher than others.
Do you think it would be better or worse if people were locked into their original choice of talents etc?
And I dont get your âskilledâ and ânoobâ thinking. If a mechanic requires you to stun a target otherwise itâs a wipe, how are you gonna play around that if you didnât choose the stun when you built your character?
The advantages are low, but it is true, they do exist.
Kinda agree that it needs to change. Especially now that Humans in PvP are again the Race to go :\ feels bad. Also, the racial benefits, do not have a counter. Like âYou take less shadow damage by 1% but you take more 1% light damageâ or the human is weaker vs X. Or orc is weaker vs Y. this doesnât existâŚ
1st suggestion:
Permanently remove any kind of racial stat boost like 1% more stamina, or 1% to all secondary stats, 2% crit, etc⌠All of them should be removed.
Profession boosts like +5, should be something that you can learn from a quest chain, or event that is associated with your profession. Similar to âPerk: Mixologyâ, you can choose only one per character.
Resistances and damage reduction like shadow, nature, physical, etc⌠Remove them, and instead make a unique Gem, that sockets into you back/cloak.
All traits are chosen, with an âeffortâ. Quests, events, etcâŚ
2nd suggestion:
(Resistances and damage reduction): lore can allow the character to follow one of the powers, or cosmic forces (chaos, order, light, shadow, life and death) and gain the specific traits. Independent of the race, class or spec⌠Its the player choice to choose what power to follow.
All traits are chosen, with an âeffortâ. Quests, events, etcâŚ
(For 1st and 2nd suggestions) How can you change the traits on an existing character and how many can u have?!
It shouldnât be time gated, like âone change once a weekâ -_-
it shouldnât be instant like âgo to a barberâ or a talent, It looses its purpose, and forces us to re-spec to every fight.
It should not include any kind of daily or reputation.
I think it should be a quest chain, for each trait you choose (example for shadow resistance): 1st quest, kill 100 enemies of the opposing force (light vs shadow, order vs chaos, life vs death); 2nd quest, contribute to the cosmic force with the soul of âlifeâ raid boss. and some materials associated with your profession learned. 3rd quest, do some unique event where you rally the shadow forces vs the life forces.
You cannot unlock all traits. You can only unlock 1 resistance or physical reduction (ex.: 1% shadow resistance); 3 passives (for example, beast slaying, da voodoo shuffle and regeneration); and one active skill (ex.: berserking).
3rd suggestion:
Make all races more similar to the zandalari, and adjust traits. Where it is the player who can choose what he wants, every few days or so, by following a loa, or religion(light) or cult, etcâŚ
