my shaman(ragrar-hyjal) got a bad score 500+, but i still get invited into rio group.

why because i made a name of myself and i always cc,cut and not only tunnel vision.

90% of the m+ i have done what i still see is aoeing zerg fest and tunnel vision, people don’t do mecanism because others will do it for them so they ask why should i use my cut and my cc because someone else will do it for me.

you want to be invited into group don’t look for addons and improve your game(git gud) and you will see the other side of the spectrum.

Idk how u expect them to make money, like almost every addon has a support feature and raiderio simbots is a very like complicated addon that they made and such and probally cost them alot of time and some money, if u want to support them and make the addon better this is the way to help

2º - Someone had the work to do this addon, maintaing the addon, mantain the data, etc,etc
3º - don´t want to pay, don´t pay, I don´t pay
4º - If you disagree with Raider IO, Don´t use it

There are multiple addons that request payment, you just use them oy pay for them if you want

I don’t get your problem with rio. It’s not required to play wow, don’t be ridiculous. It’s useful while puging m+. It works just fine without paying anything and it updated fairly quickly.

So you get useful service for specific purpose and it works for free.

Imagine exxagerating the degree of necessity for said payment because you’re too impatient to wait 2-3 extra minutes in queue.

Non premium can take up to 11 hours to update your score in the ingame addon. That wastes a lot of time when you are trying to push your rating just to get an M+ run in the first place.

So I take it that you either A are in an excelled large guild that gives you loads of runs on the keys you require or you don’t do M+. It has to be one or the other because pugging M+ without rio is not possible, at least on meaningful keys. So Rio is necessary, it is mandatory!

For their main premium service they charge €120 per year. We already pay for WOW. Blizzard have left thing get out of hand if you have to pay that kind of money for just one essential addon, what if others see this and follow suit, like DBM, Recount, Clique, you could end up with an addon bill of €1,000 per annum or more.

This type of practice should be broken.

The addon works regardless of whether your have premium or not.

There was a hold up recently where no one INCLUDING premium accounts could get the API from blizz. Everyone tends to update within half hour of a run. And even that is held up by Blizz’s end.

I feel that TSM are doing the same. I’ve not got their scans to work properly for a couple of expansions. Apparently it’s a BLizzard issue but no other addon seems to have, but conveniently their free desktop app will fix this. Oh, they didnt mention it has premium features too. a ‘co-incidence’ i’m sure.

Well our character names with server are unique so they are personally identifying information. I wonder how this fits in with GDPR.

You would have more requests going into google or facebook in a min that RIO would have in a month. Would suggest you take a course.

Let them make pay-to-use mode so nobody will bother with rio anymore. Sites like raidbots and rio wanting us to pay for informations generated by bots about game we already paying monthly is stupid idea. Patronite would work though.

It has to be one or the other because pugging M+ without rio is not possible, at least on meaningful keys. So Rio is necessary, it is mandatory!

This isn’t a single player game. If you want to play it like one then you have to face the consequences. PUGs are always in an disadvantage over guilds and organized group thus many aspects degenerate like scoring/MMR systems when creating a group for challenging content. If you have a problem with that do not PUG, just get a guild (doesn’t have to be big) or a group/discord community for M+ and you will be able to run whatever keys 24/7 with the added bonus of better coordination and guarantees of people not leaving.

Then either Blizzard will have to integrate such functionality in the game or disallow paid services around WoW which will instantly create a gray zone of addons and services that only some players use and gain way higher advantage than anyone else. At some point software development and upkeep gets to costly and when you have a complex game such software may vastly exceed human capabilities in gameplay optimization.

So either you will be “excluded” from M+ by raiderIO, Blizzard “free” system (as it has to be “harsh” to have any value) or by inflated ilvl requirements of severely cut down amount of PUG runs. A +10 key is a counterpart of heroic raiding. Not everyone is a heroic raider nor not everyone is guaranteed to get a heroic clear. You have to earn that, you have to progress.

It provides a valuable service, which Blizzard does not provide, and for which its creators deserve payment. Blizzard of course can disable the API, but then the right honorable gentleman would have no means to check anyone who applies to his group, unless Blizzard itself provided that service.

No, they do not deserve payment, in fact, that payment is probably illegal under copyright laws. For someone to deserve payment for their work is not enough to be the ones who do the work, they also need to be the owner of the copyright property under the work has done, or at least have the approval of the owner.

There are many examples of work made by many people in video games like this

• Skyrim mods? Mod authors made the work, but Bethesda owns Skyrim’s copyright and so mod authors are not allowed to sell their work without Bethesda’s approval.

• Pokemon rom hacks? Super Mario Word rom hacks? Mario Maker levels? All this content, even whole games can’t be sell because Nintendo is the owner of Mario and Pokemon franchise and won’t allow other people to do it.

• World of Warcraft Addons? No addon author is allowed to sell their addons. Is his work? Yes, is his property? No.

All of this and RaiderIo is the same, derivative works, they do not deserve payment, because it could be their work but is not their property.

Just because something is lawful doesnt make it right like just because something is unlawful doesnt make it wrong.

I love when people quote laws they don’t understand and or just simply don’t apply.

Raider io offers a free service, they don’t expect to be paid. Those who want to help support, can, and get some minor perks in the process.

When raider up is slow to update a run for free users it’s also slow for patrons. I frequently get asked to update for others and it’s just that the data hasn’t reached them from Blizz yet. Nothing, my premium payments can speed up.

And it’s only ever up to date on the website. The add-on updates once a day.

I have no problem with pugs/groups etc. being exclusive. You seem to be missing the entire point of my OP.

What I am pointing out is that to optimise your RIO when you are pushing you would have to pay €120 per annum to max this out.

Now lets see how many other essential addons cotton on to people paying premium subscriptions for RIO. How about a DBM where you only get every second warning unless you unlock premium?

I am trying to point out that players could end up paying a multiple to third parties of what they pay to Blizzard just so they can play the game.
