Raider.io Should be broken if it continues charging players for fast updating

Imagine exxagerating the degree of necessity for said payment because you’re too impatient to wait 2-3 extra minutes in queue.

This topic is simply hilarious. Raider is not “officialy” mandatory to play Wow. The fact that the m+ community has made it" non-officialy " mandatory is a different case. Raider io is not preventing you from writing in your password and logging into a WoW realm.

As for the “free Blizz data” argument. Let’s imagine there are free wild fruits in a forest. A person offers to share with you a full box absolutely free while keeping some for a cost. And you go full:" OMG! The fruits are free! GIVE ME EVERYTHING! "

So if you don’t like it. Please…make your own addon call it “Cucullan Scoreboard”. Rank it with “coolnness points” a timed +10 gives you 5000 points…what ever. Go and get the “free strawberries” yourself.

But until that happens. You have no right to acuse the authors of an addon who spent many nights, trial and errors to achieve what they have now. A nice system to make the scoreboard more easier to follow and understand.
While your efforts: are typing the name of the website in your browser and whining on forums that I can’t get some optional features because…I am entitled to it and I said so…

It’s not. You can play and live happily without it.

Again, it’s not. You should try to play as an mmo should be played, with friends or guild, and in that case, rio is not needed.

You don’t. You can update it for free, or let it update itself for free. Unless you’re the guy who can do a better result every single day on every single dungeon (and i highly doubt so because if you are, you have your own trusted group for it and rio is again not needed) there is no need for those “fast update”.

rio is not the best solution to crappy pugs i can think of, but it’s something and since someone is spending is own time behind it, it’s more than fair for it to ask for voluntary contribution.

They have made apps. Apps are not free to make, they take time, effort etc.
The payment is optional. You can support the developer if you think its worth it.
Obviously if you support him, you have more value than some random guy/girl on the internet.

If all the info was available to the players, we wouldn’t have to go to third party sites.
If the gearing was not complicated needlessly, we wouldn’t have to go to Raidbots for every piece, because no matter how equal you make the stats, there is always better and people will always search for it.

Actually no. It charges for fast updating of their database, which is separate from the addon.

Prioritization remains prioritization, no excuses.

Yeah indeed, and premium raidbots and raider io aren’t really any different

I don’t think they understand how it works :frowning:

I, for one, are really happy about the free services the rio developers provide.

To think simbots mostly mooch off the same software for the sims which people can donwload themselves. It’s astonishing if someone would ever pay for this.

I pay for it

Well the raidbots premium for the fast queue.

But why? You can just download the simcraft program and have access to instant simming and the ability to sim gear you don’t have yet. With all due respect but it’s a bit silly to throw money at those things.

Edit: For your convenience and anyone elses.

The convenience is that it’s kept up to date. You can obviously use it for free but with the queues as they are and everyone needing to sim all the time I went for premium.

Thank you for the links though.

While this is true it’s only true because they use the latest nightly build that simcraft releases.

If you use the program in the download link there’s no queue. You import your own profile, tinker with it if you’d like some speculative simming(or don’t if that’s not your jig) and you can sim just like that. Yes, it takes time to calculate depending on whether you enable stat scaling or not but it will always be faster than whatever raidbots can provide.

I am genuinely grateful for the links and will look into it later

So a Company is taking free data provided by #Blizzard from our Personal Accounts, and, then charging users of RIO (whatever is called) money to use an addon. Are Blizzard giving them our names & addresses too!!! Can Blizzard do this !!!???

No they aren’t

Raider Io provide a free service. They offer a premium service with some features.

The addon works regardless of whether your have premium or not.

Sorry OP but this is nonsense.

Yes the data is available for free by Blizzard but it’s being pulled by RIO and is delivered to you for free! as long as the updates are made fast enough and they aren’t delaying it on purpose which in my experience is fine then there’s nothing to complain about and so if you want to be prioritized then you should pay, it makes sense.

i do m+ on my shaman elem most of the time, my raider io is at 500ish.

i don’t use the addon, but i got scores and i don’t give a damn. and im still invited into m+ and refuse to some.

It’s only silly if you can’t afford it but more importantly the SimCraft UI is terrible imo so I prefer to support raidbots and use their service just for that.
