Been reporting legitimate botters for weeks, people at ranks 11-13, Blizzard does nothing. They are still in-game today after the ban wave.
I AFK’d one AV yesterday (for a genuine emergency, did intend to come back to keyboard but could not) and I’ve been smacked with a ban for a few days.
I’m only rank 7, don’t even care about ranking, I had nothing to gain from it.
The useless customer service of Blizzard have their heads so far up their arrses, oxygen can no longer reach their brains. And that is showing in their actions.
I will be posting about this on several forms of social media and try to subtract as much revenue from Blizzard as possible, hopefully steering potential newcomers from wasting their time with this failed company.

So you justify being afk in a bg because other players do the same?

ok. I read a few posts at the beginning and while I understand afkers should be punished, they CAN’T be banned from game. They are removed from BG with penalty of 15 mins of not being able to join as far as I know. @OP your ban must be the result of using something to help you in the game. IF you know it is incorrect, you should open ticket!
It looks like a huge false-positive ban-wave has gone out.
There’s no false positive. Blizzard never ban people for “bot reason” for nothing. It’s not a single report. It’s constant and multiple report that trigger an alarm.
Unless it’s incorrectly implemented, like the chat ban.
You’re practically guaranteed to get a chat ban if you chat in AV all day, since you’re exposed to tens- if not hundreds of thousands of players.
If just 0.01% of those players report you, you’ll get banned.
Meanwhile if you’re actually a spamming chatbot in Darnassus and you get reported by 100% of the 20 people that see you, you’re not going to get banned.
We don’t know for a fact that that’s the case for AFK reports, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
Also, you don’t get a 7 day ban for botting… So… Clearly it wasn’t botting.
Also also, why do you think the appeals process even exists? Plenty of people get banned and subsequently unbanned because the appealing process found that it WAS A FALSE POSITIVE.

I doubt they banned you for 1 AFK’d game.
If you use /afk i doubt you get banned either since the 15min debuff is your penalty and emergencies can happen at all times.
Sorry dude, but I think either you got caught or you got rekt by some people mass reporting you - but then is the question: why would they mass report you?

7 days ban is 7 days ban. Get over it honestly. You screwed RP from legit rankers, theses RP will never be refund. AFK should be ban 6 month imo.

Haha love it. First it was “I wasnt afking, I actively engaged enemy in combat” then GM said “no you didnt, you just moved inside a building to continue your inactivity” then she was like “oopsie

Imagine banning random alliance afking in a corner, waiting for the unbalanced game to end so you can queue into another one with the same old 10-15 bots and account sharing russians that are never getting banned. Classic is a dead game.

Yeah it should. People who do it are scum and they deserve to be banned.
But they usually aren’t bots, they’re all just the afkers mostly lol.

But i hope you all underdogs and lamers kids haters inside this forum that a day you will get a ban in the game for a stupid things like this happened to me.
The first fault of all start from blizzard, they gave us AV totaly umbalanced and no fun, a place where horde get 60 minutes queue to join a single AV and where allies loosing every game taking 0 reputaion and 0 honor.
A place where ally get ganked in every single zone of the map inside AV
So where is the fun ? People going AFK because are bored to get ganked and loose every single game
The game is dead tbh. Such a shame that one of the best games of all times get ruined by nu-blizzard. Unsubbed, refunded wc3 too while i was at it and am in contact with my bank to get the remainder of my sub money back. Big Fck you to blizzard

Its worth a shot. It auto renewed for 6 months recently and theres no way im paying blizzard when they ban my account without justification.
And you Blizzard you cant ban people afk; this is a not a right thing and action !!! because we dont use bot or selling gold
Ban is deserved if you use bot - selling gold ecc ecc and not for going afk some AV for the reason i explain before
