Range Checking Addon Functionality Disabled

I do hope that this means we will always have a ring around us to indicate the distance to keep away from others as mechanics.

As long as the visuals for these things are clear I’m perfectly fine with it.

If it turns out there is no visual clue and you are meant to be 15 yards apart and you wiped because bob moved 1cm to close it will be annoying.

Changes to timewalking General Vezax coming never ever :smiling_face_with_tear:

It’s cue, not clue, visual cue.

Thanks for spotting this typo. Would you like a job as a secretary?

Indeed, if the visuals are there it’s fine.

Providing they don’t do standard blizzard things like make it hard to see the circles on the terrain. We don’t like clear visuals for a lot of things in WoW

Most people don’t like being corrected, which is something I’m very mindful of, hence why I always try to be courteous when correcting someone.

With that said, you’re welcome.

good lets reduce accessibility features from the game because of echo, liquid and method
sad for all healers in this game. have fun

Yeah thanks blizzard, never mind casual players who enjoyed playing with rotation helpers. Now we can enjoy tracking 4 types of debuffs while counting nameplates around us just as intended. Love it.

i had fun with my one where it just let you know how far you are, just numbers but they pooped that up now.

gotta look at my action bars to see when it becomes white

I hope this doesn’t mess with my add-on that paints the icon red (instead of just the text) whenever my target is out of range?

We shall see…

EDIT: Works absolutely fine. I went in and checked the code and apparently there’s an event that fires to notify that this has occurred, and the constant checking the way WA does it hasn’t been necessary since 10.1.5.

Carry on Blizz.

As far as I know, InRange check is still functioning. The part they disabled was getting accurate range from nameplates and targets in combat.

Seems so. I consider that completely appropriate.

Maybe for your use case of addons or weakauras, sure, but it still kills all nameplate and target range check functions.

Like aoe checks for number of enemies in range, party / raid members in range for buffs // heals.

Good. L2P. (That wasn’t personal, it’s just to anybody who feels this is a problem)

I rather suspect that, following this and the consequent breaking of some addons, there’s going to be a lot of people who would ordinarily give the feedback that WoW is too easy, now suddenly giving the opposite.

Can’t wait. It’s going to be glorious.

It’s kind of annoying, idk if it’s this causing it or if its elvui that scuffed it but target of target is always showing as the target being out of range now, very annoying. Can’t see if a spell is actually going to go off or if it will fizzle because they’re not in range.

Length of one yard is equal to the combined width of two horse rears. Therefore, if for an example you need to be ten yards away just imagine twenty horses.
Not really a rocket science.

It is a problem. Hekili is sitting on 31.5 M downloads.

Blizzard themselves came out and said that they needed to do better in encounter design since they made fights too boss mod reliant.

Wount be as funny as you leaving the forums in a foul mood over AI dungeons and saying you never come back
