Rank progress question

Lets say I have rank 4 and during week got 16k honor. Taking into account 20% decay I have to have rank 6 at the beginning of next week. However in real I didnt got rank6 in described above situation. Where is my mistake? Or is that game issue?

sorry, but blizzard is small indie company and dealing with updating honor in 15 y.o. game isn’t easy

More honor - > better standing - > More rp - > rank up

It will depend on all the other players of your fraction on your realm. The ranking brackets are defined by the amount of honor the players of your fraction on your realm make. If they make more honor than you it will keep you from claiming the rank ladder.

In real it changes from rank4 to rank5. Not as expected (to rank6). So in general there is a progress

Honor and RP are not the same thing. Standing 1 (around 280k honor on my server/faction) gets 13k RP. It’s all relative to how much honor you get compared to others on your faction.

ok, so there is one parameter in game and missing another parameter to calculate everything correct  Familiar situation

The honor points you see ingame are not the same as ranking points! Your honor points determine your standing compared to other rankers. Depending on your standing you get up to 13k ranking points each week. Only the top ranker (standing 1) gets this max amount. Your ranking points add up over the weeks while 20% of your total summ is remove before ne ranking points are added during hobor calculations.
Rank 60 needs 25k ranking points.
Just as a ballpark estimate. Standing 500 gives you about 9k ranking points.
16k honor on my server gives you about standing 700.
When aiming for rank 10 for example you probably need to be below standing 500 for a few weeks in a row

Pleaee be aware that these are just rough estimates from my server and can vary quite a bit from server to server.

Nothing is missing. I farmed around 125k last week and am expecting a low bracket 3 spot, which translates to roughly 10k RP.

I wonder how you know your bracket. Honor spy?

Yes, honorspy

standing 126 for my case

You seem to have some confusion regarding honor and decay, so let’s lay it out for you.

In any given week you can get from 400 to 13001 RANKING POINTS.
The ammount of honor you get comparatively to others will give you a standing.
Your standing vs the total player pool determines how much Ranking points you get from that 500 to 13k RP.
So 16k honor will give you 13k RP if you are the guy on alliance on your realm with the most honor. But if you are like standing 500 then it will not give you 13k RP.
So these are intertwined and connected, but it’s also reliant on you in relation to other players.
The ranks are also tied into your total RP, so you are rank 4 currently, which is 10k-14.99k total RP.
Each rank after rank 3 is 5000 RP so in order to get Rank 6 you need another 10k RP, which is double what you have right now - which seems a bit unlikely in 1 week.

Then regarding this 20% weekly decay, this is on your total RP. so let’s pretend you get 12k RP this week and have 12500 RP.
After decay you have 10k RP + 12k rp = 22k rp which is rank 6.

That being said, 12k RP is bracket 2 cap and on my realm that is 230k honor…

So here’s some of the Breakdown (only counts players above 15HK):
Bracket 1 = 0.2% of players - 12000 - 13000 RP
Bracket 2 = 0.5% of players - 11000 - 12000 RP
Bracket 3 = 1% of players - 10000 - 11000 RP
Bracket 4 = 2% of players - 9000 - 10000 RP
Bracket 5 = 4% of players - 8000 - 9000 RP

And again, this % of players is your weekly honor in relation to the other players on your faction on your realm.

etc etc etc all the way down to 400 RP at the bottom rank.

Those of us who are actively ranking are using honorspy to share our weekly information in our to gague this information.
