Rares with long respawn times

What purpose does that serve? A lot of these already have low drop rates with time gated restrictions (daily or weekly). Im talking about both current and older expansions.

We already had this issue raised with the one shotting of Nalak, I think back in Legion. Moving his timer from 1h to 15 min didnt exactly made the whole player base getting the mount but at least moved him away from being close to rare as the timeless proto drake.

If this is having purely time-wasting strategy behind it, its already incorporated into the drop rate. If someone wants to be doing this on 50 characters, so what when they will have to go through that ordeal.

Just let players kill the rare, throw the dice and move onto something else because camping spawn points isnt content.

Paying to do nothing but wait is the most ludacris thing ever that needs to die off as a concept, nothing with a chance of dropping something should have a long respawn rate… I don’t mind the few long respawns if they have a 100% drop.

Silent Glider is the absolute worst offender, 8+ hour respawn for a 0.x% drop chance that isn’t even unique looking…

Either make 100% drop rate or make it 10-15 min spawn. This mix with long spawn and low drop rate nobody likes.

Also don’t flood expansion with mounts, toys and rare etc - be reasonable.

To keep its rarity at certain level. If you think some mount isnt worth working for then dont chase that mount.

Rares being rare is fine. Rares having low drop chance for a mount is not.

Yes it is.
If the mount wasn’t a rare drop from a rare enemy it wouldn’t be as notable.

It’s not like all the cool mounts are like that.

Literally all low drop rate mounts from the long respawn timer rares are just recolors, and are not unique by any stretch.

That’s what I said.

Some people are collectors and achivements hunters. If something is beyond the line they complain. Few rares have like 8 hours spawn and get one shotted. Many people never seen those rare and noone has time to sit 8 hours to hunt the insane amount of so called rares.

than those mounts werent meant for those people.

The whole point of being a collector is to try and collect the insanely rare things.
If everything was easily obtainable then what would they really have to feel special about.

I mean, I got some rare mounts, and I still mainly use my undead dragon or an undead chicken, because they look good.

Yeah, I totally agree having to wait for long periods of time just to have a super small chance at something is actually quite stupid and should be fixed and probably will soon hopefully, but hey who knows maybe that’s what they want.

Let me explain with one example - you are hunting Arathi basin win achivement.

I am dev of wow and I will give you 3 option
100 win
1000 win
100000 win

From above which achivement you find reasonable?

That’s not really relevant? You can enjoy having something without having to show it off / use it all the time.
Are you even a serious mount collector?

Haven’t been so far, but thanks to the xp buff I leveled a small army I can farm the mounts seriously with, so I am slowly getting into it.

But even serious mount collectors hate these rares. I spoke with some of them who have over 600 mounts, and they hate this.

As people have said already, something can either have a long respawn OR a coveted rare item drop, not both.

Imagine the time lost proto drake having a 16 hour or whateve respawn AND a 1% chance of dropping itself as a mount, thats just rude to the customer.

If I wanted the rarest achievement, i’d want the hardest one to obtain.

It’s not about enjoying the farm. It’s about enjoying the reward.

Nobody who gets the Sha mount turns around and says hey, man I hope they hotfix this tomorrow and make it a 20% drop.

Hardest achievements should be hard to complete for the challenge they offer, not because they make you no-life all day on several alts. This is a seriously unhealthy thing.
