You do realise that they have rating/ranking even in Heartstone. A card game. Which literally revolves around RNG. And is also almost always imbalanced. What makes you even consider they would remove rating from WoW, in which skill for the majority of time translates into rating. Useless post.

Who said what is competition and what not? Some compete eating hotdogs, some competes in F1 with different racing cars, some compete in maths ect.
If lets say as example you came to compete in racing, but your car have only 3 wheels and rest have 4 wheels, its your own fault, prepare for competition and get what required for it to compete. Most of the competitions got luck involved.

The factors i mentioned above are outside your direct control, and account for MASSIVE differences of how the game will play out. I didn’t even mention factors outside of the game that are outside of people’s control, but that’d be needlessly excessive. This alone says it all.
Guys, this is an RPG… It isn’t meant to be serious. I know you want it to matter, but it just doesn’t… I’m sorry. Nobody with a brain takes the PVP or arena seriously in this game, or in pretty much all RPGs for that matter.
Rating is for real competitive games like chess etc… Things that are as balanced as they can be. This is not one of them. We don’t rate people on flipping the most heads over tails, we shouldn’t be rating people on WoW. It is ridiculous.
Thats the point all of the things what you mentioned are in direct control of player. Luck will get you to 1800 rating maybe, then with luck only wont be enough.
Feel like some spec is OP, play it.
Get addons same as you would get boxing gloves, teeth guards ect.
Gearing is easy, its a MMORPG, something you have to do, if want all for nothing, its not the place for it.
