SInce the BfA emissary and reputation gold has been nerfed to the ground, is there any other viable option? Preferably without necessarily hitting lvl 60.
I heard the covenant callings at max lvl reward decent amount, but i fear its probably not enough to pay for a sub over the course of a month, even across multiple characters.
join a 2x4 boe farming group. Or you know, farm stuff other than raw gold. herbs and blue leather sell fast
Anything that involves auction house is out of the question, i cannot be bothered to deal with that really, it’s raw gold only for me. Legion raids don’t seem to be all worth it anymore either.
U get like 1.5-3k gold pers calling, combine this with gold world quests, take mining+herbal so u gather while doing wqs.
Misions can also give some gold here and there along with mats.
How much u can make per month realy depends on how much chars u wana play, but for calings u need lvl 60.
Not sure if its worth time wise tho.
If you don’t want to deal with the AH then you will have a hard time unless you want to do callings on an army of alts.
Not sure why you want to avoid the AH, it takes like 5 seconds max to dump your herbs or leather on it
I’m glad the game does not hand out tons of raw gold, and causing some silly hyper inflation again like with the WoD garrisons
Any raw gold farms are getting nerfed pretty quick these days. Pretty sure Blizzard are actively trying to stop that kind of thing. Any that do exist probably won’t last very long, since YouTubers can’t keep their mouths shut about them. The days of grinding for your token in a reasonable amount of time without using the AH appear to be coming to an end.
It takes too much time, management but is mostly unreliable, depending on price and demand, you’re likely to sell nothing and be left empty handed anyway. Labor=direct gold is the only approach i really care about, i get the gold and don’t have to think about anymore, that and farming herbs/ore or leather is just a nono, unless it was valuable enough to be vendored.
Which is quite a bummer and makes little sense since they have the token for gold in game in the first place, from which they benefit more than a regular sub.
Eh, ill try the callings i guess, but leveling so many chars could turn out a bit rough psychologically.
The reason appears to be that raw gold farms are the prime resource for multiboxers and bots.
Thing is, you can dump your stuff on the AH in about 5 minutes a day. Since it’s the start of the expansion, pretty much everything is in demand, and will sell. I easily make 100k a week by running a few laps around one of the zones on a gatherer alt. Not killing anything, if I can avoid it, just mine & herb, dump on the AH. Takes a fraction of the time and effort raw gold farming does, for a whole lot more profit.
But you do you.
Suit yourself, I pretty much made a 800k gold the last 15 days alone just selling leather and herbs i found along the way. I can pay my subscription for a long time. and i just have to repost it once a day
probably because of the hyperinflation raw gold farms caused. Thats why they have been trying to drain gold from the economy with expensive mounts like the AH dinosaur or the spider one in legion. There already is tons and tons of gold in circulation. You can’t expect to get tons of gold without being part of the economy, wich makes sense
Beginning of the expansion is usually when nothing sells because things are overpriced and thus being more efficient to farm yourself if you need it for crafting professions, where as later the market is oversaturated that it’s not worth selling anymore due to price being low.
Sure there are always the few fortunate ones who can indeed, strike a gold mine, but the same does not work for everyone.
I really just want a reliable source of gold, which is why for years i’ve been focused on raw gold, at least that way i see what i get without needless complications.
Start of the expansion is when progress happens. When people complete the storylines, farm reputation and whatnot, run M+ and raids for gear. Things sell, and they sell fast, because people rather spend time doing fun things, and farming ain’t fun.
Herbing and mining, and selling it on the AH has been a super reliable way for me, both in BfA, and in Shadowlands too so far. I’m sitting at almost 2M gold now, started SL with a bit under 1M, and spent over 700k gold on random stuff so far. Still made more than 1M profit since launch.
I don’t play the AH, I don’t flip items, I just dump my herbs, ore, and leather, and next morning, loot the gold. Simple, efficient, and so far, quite reliable.
i got 100.000 today with fishing shadowlands o_o
Subjective, but when things are overpriced on AH, so are people force to farm mats and craft themselves. This is especially noticable with the legendary base items.
Suffice to say throughout the past expansions, selling anything on auction has been extremely unsuccessful for me regardless of what is being sold, start, mid or end of the expansion, which is why i’ve always been extremely poor and broke and only when they introduced raw gold farming options is when i could finally get a decent level of gold, and i’m talking only around 100-200k a month so, as was the case for BfA.
In 16 years i’ve never had close to a million, even with Warlords missions tables on a daily basis, which still astounds me how people got millions unless they played a full account limit of characters.
Have you even tried using AH for on demand goods? I farm elethium ore in the maw. By the time I make from AH in Orgrimar to portal room I get the message that my ore has been sold.
You can mine about 10k gold worth of ore in 30min there.
If you don’t count the massive time investment and efort to get the ore in the first place, as in travel, fighting mobs and actually finding a node that isn’t mined out already.
In BfA i could just finish 4 WQs per character with little time and effort and be done with it, and get teh gold from both paragon boxes and emissaries themselves.
Also, particularly this expansion, youre likely to spend all mats you gather, and even more, on the way on leveling professions, leaving nothing to actually auction for the supposed profit.
Eh, BLizzard really loves to make things so damn complicated, especially for the simple, casual folk like me
You are joking right? The beginning of the expansion is the time where you make most gold off farming mats. Even desolate leather sold super quickly the first week. it went easily for 30g per piece. Now its already down to 1 g per piece and there being way less demand for it
At start of expansion, gathering is where it’s at.
Retributor making 100K from fishing is … exceptional, but not bizarre. Easy to make a couple of million from dual herbing/mining or herbing/skinning for the next month or so.
If you want early gold, GATHER!
The Shadowlands revision of the Auctionator addon (Selling tab) makes it amazingly easy to deal with your mats auctions. Make a banker. Send the mats to him. Log him once a day, preferably 5pm-8pm, and click the items and collect the gold. Done.
The devs have clearly made a decision about gold, and I think it’s a bad one, but I can’t stop them. Emissaries in Shadowlands give ~1800 (plus or minus a couple of hundred) per day in Greys, and so far everybody is doing them for rep/renown/anima. This will drive inflation across the whole playerbase, and through the xpansion.
Not at all, been there done that, never sold anything, not at any reasonable rate anyway that would justify the time investment. But if it has worked for you, then good. Perhaps it’s worth selling this expansion, but i’m quite skeptical.
those were nerfed like a week ago. one of the reasons i unsubed xD
