RBGS are a waste of time for a casual

just remove rated problem solved and destroy arena it was a mistake :stuck_out_tongue: bring back the classic ranking system :stuck_out_tongue:

literally bump every single soloq post

tonight I were looking for a group as resto druid 1500+ for 3 hours.
Its not like rdruid is bad, just every1 looking for pala, dpriest.
Its just sad… btw picky leaders, MW monks are very good RBG healers same as resto druids.
Well spent evening.

There are 2 solutions i would implement if i was PvP lead at Blizzard.

Soloq. Instant queues vs ppl of your own skilllevel.

Gear capped per rating range up till 1800.

  • 200 ilvl up till 1400.
  • 207 up till 1600.
  • 213 up till 1800.

This doesnt mean you cant use 220+ items, but your average item level gets brought down to the ilvl of the bracket youre in.

Restrictions removed above 1800.

I’d do away with rated pvp outside of competitions.

Max gap should be 10ilvls and then make it with pvp bonuses and not optimal for pve but usable.

Pve players can’t moan they are forced into it and pvp players are more balanced for gearing meaning skill becomes more relevant rather than a roflstomp it is now because someone can no life the game.

People’s argument here is the time it takes to form a group, if you have 3 hours to play you don’t want 2 hours of it finding a group.

People then get picky over classes and achievements to help guarantee wins, this excludes new players or classes not in the current meta.

It perpetuates a cycle of rerolling to certain classes in pvp we see now (the FOTM is real.)

All gear should be obtainable with honor or conquest and the max upgrade should be taken down to 10ilvl between top and base.

Right now People who then get stuck at 200 eventually leave reducing participation further as they can’t legitimately continue to stay relevant in the time they have.
We know it’s happening as even bliz have admitted wod style gear scaling may come back.

High level play should be rewarded but not at the cost of unbalanced gear ilvl skewing pvp.

Hello.

Seems to me like you forgot how painful once was to get a group for rbg’s over LFG channel.

It took you literally half damn day to get proper setup.

People thought group finder is going to fix it,nothing changed.

SOLO queue won’t fix a thing either.

It helped now it tooks 4 hours

Thats very ignorant without any arguments to back it up. Imo soloque will boost number of players playing rated bgs by like 1000% but thats my opinion you can still being negative internet chad sitting in lfg for 4 hours running oriboros like a clown.

You mean the system where only people with no jobs and family got the highest rank regardless of skill? I’d rather not have that

Rated BGs is not casual friendly content and a soloqueue won’t fix that. If you want to succeed in rated BGs you need comms or a group of experienced PvP players that know exactly what to do.

You can just login and play the game. If you want to do casual battleground PvP then why don’t you just do random BGs?

And again, if your concern is about getting CPs and climbing the ladder then rated BG is by nature one of the least casual friendly aspects of the game, due to the amount of strategy and tatics that need to be communicated (on comms) in order to succeed.

Of course it will. If neither team played together before, it’s even.

So the idea is to have two types of rated BG queues?
One queue for rated premades and one queue for solo queues?

Yes, solo queue and team queue, separated. (Random bgs aren’t needed, they are just solo queue.)

I don’t like that. Rated BGs are already suffering from low participation and premade queues would wind up dead if there were separate queues. I’d rather see solo queues be merged with premade queues then. The game should reward players that put an effort into doing things like a community imo.

Well, the vast majority of people don’t like there being just team queue. You are outnumbered. No, merging is not an option, a merged solo + team queue simply becomes a team queue. The effort you are talking about is social, has nothing to do with the game. No, it shouldn’t be rewarded. Or, rather, you are free to reward it, then you get bs of a game.

Based on what? the FOTM topic in the wow forums? Most players don’t even attend the forums, the majority of active players on the forums seem to be those that already have a spectrum of different complaints. No wonder that you would think solo queues is something ‘everybody’ wants if you only look at the forums lol.

is it? this is an mmorpg afterall where community challenges has always been favoured.

Based on the popularity of solo and team queues in other games. 50:1 isn’t uncommon.

Yes, it has nothing to do with the game. We are talking about who has more time to sit in LFG.

I play WoW, because it is not one of those games and I am sure others would agree with me. WoW has a different type of player base that has always favoured communities and Guilds. That’s a core aspect of WoW. Also, what is this 50:1 number?

I guess you have never heard of rbg communities and PvP guilds then.

Anyway, I see how stubborn you are on this topic. I guess we can agree to disagree.

The number comes from other games that have solo and team queues. Eg, mobas. 50:1 means that for each player in a team queue, there are 50 in a solo queue. The numbers never go lower than 10:1, and can reach higher than 50:1.

I cannot care less about this argument: “it’s WoW and it didn’t have solo queue and so it should continue not to have it”. I want a solo queue. The majority of people who PVP do. If WoW doesn’t do it, its loss.

I heard of them. I even was part of them. So what? What we are talking about here is who has more time to sit in LFG / those communities / on the forums, etc. Has nothing to do with the game. Reward this bs and you get bs of a game, like I said.

Who outside of WoW takes WoW PVP seriously? Right, nobody. It’s different with other games though. Why is that? Because WoW is bs for PVP. Doesn’t even have a solo queue. /shrug

That’s not a valid comparison when you are talking about a completely different game with a different culture and different norms.

i never said this, nor was I against the idea of solo queues.

I just think they can merge premade RBGs and solo queue RBGs. Arena already has a high enough participation rate to have 2 separate queues.

Who cares? It is a video game. On top of that, a game that was initially designed for casuals and players that liked the importance of communities and guilds.

The logic of my argument that you didn’t understand:

A = Rated BG participation rate is low.
if B = Separate queues for rated BGs in terms of premades and solo queues.
then C = Rated BGs for those that like to play in premade will be crowded out by soloqueues and it will be much less rewarding for communities and guilds that focus on rated BGs.

Regarding time, being a part of a community or guild that does rbgs is clearly a great way to save time.

I find it fascinating that somebody from Argent Dawn would be in favour of pushing the game towards more individualization on the expense of the communities and guilds in the game.

It’s a completely valid comparison because we are talking about PVP between small groups of people with small avatars with spells and gear and whatnot.

If they do this, the merged queue will become a team queue. I said it already. This isn’t an option, if you want to add a solo queue and then merge it with a team queue, you might as well not have done anything, the effect is the same.

I understood it perfectly. I don’t care about participation in team queue. It’s low and will remain low because it’s team queue (low) and because it’s WoW (bs). Participation in solo queue will be higher because that’s solo queue (high) even though it’s still WoW (bs). If you want to increase participation in team queue, you have to make WoW less bs, by improving balance, etc.

What you do not understand though is that solo queue and team queue do not fight each other, they complement each other. People in team queue will do solo queue as well. Feel like tryharding? Go team queue. Feel like relaxing on a new alt or filling a cap? Go solo queue. Yes, some people who currently do team queue even though they don’t like it, will stick solely to solo queue. But they will do this because they don’t like team queue. They are currently forced to do it because there’s nothing else.

Regarding the social aspect - don’t bring Argent Dawn, I am not an RPer and won’t ever be one.
