Really high skillcap healer

Which healer is really complicated and high skill cap , would love to try something new for a change ,many people told me either priest or mw , i know mw is not preforming well but im really thinking a healer that would impact the game alot with idk aoe stun or cc or fear , good healing overall mobile

Mainly looking for hard healer and being rewarded for playing it well not op healers

I heard rdruid was hard up until df. Now it’s apparently easy so I guess the worst healer is the hardest lol.
Disc is definitely a different approach to healing, so that might also make it harder.

yeah already saw good disc healers, deathing the hunter traps , sleeps from evoker etc
mc can be really good with mc a hunter that missed his own trap to mc him into his own trap

Try holy pal u gonna love it , cc , instant heal , shield everythings you need

If I had to rate healers by their complexity from hardest to easiest it would be:

  • Discipline Priest (it is about mitigating damage before it happens, it is VERY hard to catch up on healing)
  • Resto Shaman (knowing when to go in makes a good resto, also healing zugzug cleaves is VERY hard on Shaman, the only reason why it is so up here)
  • Holy Priest (lots of tools and being quite possibly the worst healing spec, it is hard to keep teammates alive)
  • Mistweaver (max range is amazing and easymode, going in and porting about takes some planning)
  • Holy Paladin (old-school pillarhug paladin is easymode, the melee wings one is a bit target enemy target ally kind-of-a-thing but it’s not hard at all)
  • Resto Druid (spam lifebloom, only difference is knowing if the enemy has cooldowns > no? > go aggressive)
  • Preservation Evoker (press Echo before every heal, Lucian dash around the map, free CC on healer, hardest part is timing your Spiritbloom and getting a proper Stasis filled)

But if you want a tier list of the best specs, I think most people will agree (this is for solo shuffle)
S Tier: Resto Druid, Preservation Evoker
A Tier: Resto Shaman, Melee Wings Holy Paladin
B Tier: Mistweaver, Discipline
C Tier: Holy Priest

Bottom-line play what you find fun. Complexity does not equal fun because the results are way down the line (or sometimes never).

did you play Hpal ? it s not so easy , all our cc are steal/cleans able or only work on 1 type of damag , our bigest heal under mele wings is jugment (11 sec of cd) our heal range is in the middle like evoker and we have few def CD for ourselfs.
and don t speak about our mana who after 6 blinks is around 5%

Hpal is good but not a A/B tier for now

IMO the complex ones are; Resto Druid, Resto Shaman and Disc Priest.

I heard people saying Resto Druid is easy but I honestly think they are not. The damage is so spikey the guy with the just reju + germa if switched may just drop dead in a few seconds and using Cenarion + Swift + NS is not 1 second thing. Not to mention, if your team is not able to put pressure on opponent healer your HoTs may just get purged the f out.

Indeed I did play it, not a fan of the melee wings spec, moving pally up or down a spot is fine, it’s not a super determined list, also judging by the ladder, they seem to be in an okay spot since melee wings took its turn in solo shuffle (rated 3’s is a completely different story, I’d even put them in C tier there, especially the pillarhug Pally)

yep , melewing good until you are perma stun/ u

And the hugging part is the same for all healler,

like MW can tp back at pillar where a Hp must run and use all def cD for it.

I must say i love the mele/heal type it s change from basic caster heal but where i agree with you is that it need some change for make a true cac/healer

rdruid easy to learn but very high skill ceiling probably still applies

That’s very biased opinion and it’s not based just on this season. I would rank from hard to easy.

Disc priest - rotation is very situational, and must get use to it a lot.
Resto shaman - easy to heal, harder to play it good. Must have good game knowledge to play it properly.
Resto druid - low entry skill, but a lot to learn and almost always there is more space to improve.
MW monk - keep max distance, nothing much going on.
Hppala - easy to learn, skill improvement comes , to know when and what to use against purge comps.
Hpriest. - few buttons, straight forward.

How nice of you missing the small detail of disc priest being the elder god S+++ tier in 2v2s but okay

i think rshaman is the hardest after rshaman i assume rdruid(if u dont pve heal in a corner)

imo rsham because of huge toolkit & fact that you need to be close to your teammates (ascendance is low range, spirit link)

Either rshaman or disc

Ok guys, I am a bad player who just dropped 400 rating in solo shuffle, BUT not sure why everyone says disc is hard. It’s by far the easiest healer, it just sucks outside of 2s, but that’s balance not complexity.

The reason it’s easy is that you don’t need any target macros. You don’t have interrupt, you don’t have range instant CC, and that’s usually the hardest part on any healer, to keep track on enemy casting on top of keeping up your mates.

When it comes to deathing things - it’s not easy yes, but you are not expected to death things, actually if you succeed, it means your enemy sucks. Good mage/shammy/lock will always fake cast, good hunters will delay trap by that one sec, and good rogues will fool you with their “footwork”. It’s a bonus, not a mist to land (although if you don’t you lose xD).

The only thing you really need to master on disc is rotating cooldowns - which takes maybe a day, and proper targeting keybindings for team mates and enemies because you are going to switch targets a lot (and I can’t do that well which makes me lose 400 rating in one damn session xd).

Lastly, 3 PvP talents are pretty much locked, so even on the strategy level, you don’t need to do much. I personally just switch between MD and MG builds, that’s it.

The hardest healer to start is monk and druid, both die from big fart when they are not careful. But the hardest to master must be either shammy or druid. Prolly shammy.

No idea about the lizard, but it looks [very easy] [edited by Blizzard - no need for swearing, even masked swearing]

get a grip dude you’re literally spamming all the threads with disc being good in that meme bracket, your class along with rogue being the reason why it’s been a meme bracket for the last 10 years lol

No healer is easy to play in the current meta

Rdruid has the most buttons and tools to play around with, rsham has quite a bunch aswell.

Holy priest has to cast a lot

disc priest is a different approach with dealing dmg + has to cast a lot aswell

I guess hpal is pretty straightforward with melee wings

evoker brings a really high throughput aswell as monk but monk also has to cast

so yeah, pick your poison.

Everyone can learn the buttons you have to press to do healing but at the end of the day it comes down to proper cooldown management, so in that regard every healer has a high skill cap

Balance is one thing, but complexity is another.

Rdruid is extremely easy, virtually no casting whatsoever ever, you can hop around spamming instants. You do have to be careful not to get caught out and one shot though.

Holy paladin, although underpowered is about as simple as it gets.

Shaman is sort of middle ground, they got the same simple toolkit, fast heal, slow heal, instant heal. But using totems right and interrupting/ccing raises it up somewhat.

Disc has the skill plays like deathing CC and pre emptive barriers etc, however the general rotation is pretty simple.

MW monk always feels like the unwanted stepchild of blizzard, the toolkit is uninspired.

Evoker although having big heals is pretty complex, you can’t use your main heal when rooted, you only have a 30 yard range instead of 40 other healers have. Your second main heal requires all your team to be grouped up as does your big pvp talent heal. You have to use abilities in order such as echo>verdant>echo>dream for the maximum output, stasis is arguably the highest skillcap heal in the game. Breathe out of CC pre-emptively. And the hardest part imo is unlike every other healer in the game you do not have a spammable heal (Living flame doesn’t count, it’s like slapping someone in the face with a slightly soggy noodle). Every heal is on a CD, run out and GL chasing your partners in a circle as they outrange you!
