Please make same free character transfer for RU realms as you did for OCE players

Can we get an update? Will it happen tonight? Tomorrow? This weekend? Next week?
Please be more transparent about when you think it will happen. Itâs weekend, we want to make plans too and not just sit around waiting for updates that may or may not come.
If you donât know when it will be fixed, at least tell us when we can expect an update next. You could also tell us how long there will be between the ânoticeâ and the update. Like, at minimum give us that.
Can you say when you will be finished with the testing?
This semi-forced transfer onto an already existing server was extremely unfair for us who had to move. Personally I lost my mainâs name, my identity, to someone who is not even level 60 and who have not raided since phase 2 (at least judging by warcraftlogs).
If we would have instead transferred to a completely new server at least the active/dedicated player-base would have had a chance to keep their names, their identities.
Another solution would have been to allow the higher level character to claim their name. All someone on had to do when Blizzard announced the merge was to log on once to vanilla to lock all names on any server to them, even if they really have no intention to continue playing SoD.
On top of this edited by moderator, Blizzard do not even allow character name changes on SoD servers to change names which was perhaps a bit too hastily changed at the point of transfer.
Furthermore, there are multiple reports on people being able to create characters on Living Flame despite Blizzard saying that it would be locked.

No. The way this was handled rather points towards this being something that was most convenient to Blizzard. The best experience for the community as a whole would have been to migrate everyone to a fresh server.
Update:
- There is still no news on when, or if, name reclamation will be fixed at all.
- Once again, we are getting bits of information from unofficial social media posts suggesting that we should pick any name and play, as they are working on a rename solution after reclamation is fixed.
- In translation, after they fix name reclamation, they will address the issue of renaming characters that lost their names because of it.
Since I have little faith in this, I suggest postponing naming your character until reclamation is resolved if possible, because based on this, the âfixâ for renaming might drag on for a long time.
This is just my personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt, but my history with this game and its support has taught me a couple of lessons.

I was in contact with customer support about this. Fun fact, they have no idea whatâs going on, nor that we are supposed to be able to reclaim inactive names. I only received links to the retail rules for name changes and releases.
Itâs like talking to a wall at this point. It seems like no one cares or knows about the changes made in classic. If you happen to contact support, be ready for a long conversation full of explanations. Make sure to have links to blue posts, etc., because they have no clue about the decisions made for SoD, and youâll just get copy-pasted responses meant for retail.

Second night with a message saying Living Flame is full, 4000+ people in queue and waiting time over 60minâŚ
Thatâs definitely not what we can call the best possible experience for SoD players !

This is totally outrageous. 4000+ people in queue on LF and 100+ minutes to get online. Do you guys really feel good about taking our money for this?! Fix this ASAP!
Soooo, Me and my kid was supposed to play tonight, wa have about 90min befor he goes to bed⌠Buuut ill guess we stair att the que of 4500 for the 90 min instead.

Congratulations you have moved a lot of people onto a server that is not big enough to accommodate everyone! What am I even paying blizzard a monthly fee for if they cant even use that money to invest in a big enough server for everyone to play on! Disgraceful
I mean surely someone did the calculations. 90 minute queue in a 20 year old game in week 535 of MC is just unacceptable. Does someone think that going back to the classic launch experience of having to use remote software to login and join queues 4 hours before you finish work is acceptable?

i didn´t move to living flame but there is no option for me to do so. Am i stuck on an official completly dead server now where everyone else but me has moved?
This would mean i am quasi banned to play sod now? Or is there hope?
Is there going to be a blue post response to the huge server queues that are being found on these âbest experience for playersâ mega servers? Best experience for players meaning we are all going outside and touching grass for 90 minutes before we finally log on to find out raid night is cancelled so we spend time more time with family?
That is a very nice experience but I donât need to be paying a subscription for it thanks.

- A few days ago, a blue post claimed they had resolved queue issues and that they wouldnât occur again. However, itâs clear now that this was just another false promise. Even US servers, which are typically prioritized for first responses, are facing the same problems.
- Itâs been 10 days with no fix for name reclamation. Many players are unable to name (due to not trusting they will get rename after) or rename their characters because there is still no official statement or ETA for a solution. Weâre stuck in a limbo, as itâs hard to trust the blue posts when they repeatedly make claims that turn out to be incorrect.
- As a side note, ticket response times are now over 60 hours.
So far, weâve been misled about:
- Name reclamation being functional from the start (it never was).
- Target realms being locked for character creation until transfers opened (the EU realm unlocked a few days early, while the US realm remained locked even after transfers became available).
- Mega servers being able to handle the current population.
- There not being any more queues on mega servers after they âfixedâ it.
Honestly, I donât know what to believe anymore.
After submitting my initial ticket, I received a generic response that basically told me to go away, using copy pasta links from retail. I followed up by providing links to blue posts, more data, and politely asked them to actually READ the ticket before responding.
Itâs been 50-60 hours now with no reply. I guess theyâre reading it one word at a time, slowly savoring each syllable. Maybe theyâve assembled a team of experts to analyze it, or perhaps theyâre still stuck on the first sentence, trying to decode its mysteries. At this rate, I expect a response sometime next year.
