Realm merge destroyed guilds

My GM char is back in the guild and everything looks as it was. Thank You!

Is there any plan to fix the issue with the blank lines given how many of our guilds have players who have since quit or in some cases tragically died and will never return, these are mostly memories and it would terrible if we were to lose those due to an error in the merges.

Thank you for fixing nearly all the issues, I agree with comments about the blank lines, lots of memories.

A lot has been fixed including 1 of my guildies that I know passed away in April.

There are still a lot of issues tho that need sorting, including some player cannot even get online at all and no longer appear in armory - I think I have 33 of the characters in my guild but not sure exactly how many accounts, 4 or 5 at least if not more.

Its also worth mentioning that there are people who have lost characters entirely from their accounts, there is another post:

That as of yet hasnt even had a blue post to acknowledge the issue.

I can see 15 characters named, also a lot of empty lines, according to guild info there are 77 characters, before the merge there were 92 (as far as I remember).
There is also a character with a name ending with a HEX code that I can’t remember seeing before. (The HEX part of the name).

Regards

Hi Helizabel,

The “blank” characters should update once the guild members login.

As for the name with HEX characters, this is simply due to the character being flagged for renaming. That character will be able to change name when it logs in next

So the remaining problem is 15 or so missing characters. On My account there were 3 characters removed from the domain. I assume the same could be for other members.
Unfortunately it could take time for the problem to solve itself since I have kept a lot of inactive account for old members not playing anymore just in case they come back to the game…

Can you check the guild roster itself? There are discrepancies between the old guild roster (/guildroster or /groster) page and the new “communities” guild page.

On my guild roster here https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/guild/eu/runetotem/meltdown?page=1&sort-column=5&sort-descending=true You can see that me (GM) and the first officer in the list Ziylala are shown with character portraits and class however, for the next 3 officers in the list these are greyed out - these players cannot enter the game - they tell me that their character no longer exists on their account. Our guild has come to a standstill since Thursday night - we cannot put anything on the calendar and all previous events have vanished just like the characters of my main officers except 1. Is anything being done to rectify this? I appreciate it must be a big headache for the tech guys but we really need something done soon.

Hi Meena,

Can you ask your Guild mates to check the post here and reply to that thread if they’re still not able to find their characters please?

Well - that was interesting, using the /groster or /guidroster commands shows all names - also 109 entrys - a few more than when I used the Guild and Communities funcion in game a week ago or so (at least as far as I remember). That interface still counts 77 members.
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/guild/eu/runetotem/immortal also shows 109 members

These display issues are being looked into - but it sounds like the member list is correct for your guild now

It’s correct in the classic interface (/groster) but incorrect if using the Guild and Communities interface (pressing the “J” key).

Same as mine - showing a 33 character difference between the old and new rosters

I am in an inactive guild on Kilrogg (Dogwatch) , honestly i am the only one that logs sometimes since everyone got bored and went on break and my character has vanished completely and Kilrogg doesn’t even show on my realm list when I log in.

I played my character Cheddarcakes (hunter) on the day of the merge and I require access, it has alot of my gold and stuff on the account and is required for m+ and helping friends. No email from blizzard and what the hell am i meant to do?

If Cheddarcakes in unguilded when you log on to the character Blizzard should be able to fix that. According to the guild website the caracter is clearly a member

Try to get a GM to check your problem in this forum. Perhaps they already are looking at it.
No mail - probably the problems are more widespread than we think.

Thanks I will give it another whirl, been checking everyday maybe they fixed it this morning

Good luck!

Hi Calistia,

Can you please check the steps here?

It sounds like your realms list is not sorted with your usual realm at the top.

If after these steps you’re still not able to find the characters, reply on that thread with the character details so it can be looked into further

Thanks
