Easy feedback, since its a ‘want to travel more or not’ issue, I don’t like to use more time to get to a destination, feedback right there…
btw it does not affect me much either, since in done with the mounts from CoT dungeons/raids and pets

That is the same blanket statement we’ve seen. Someone at some point might actually demonstrate how it’s a huge impact losing the portals and back it up.
Today is not they day
losing time to farm mythics mounts rep or play pvp or what ever, that’s the impact, lost time is less time to do what you want to do, and yes it is a blanket statement, and an easy one to make because its true
It’s also not any way that a Dev can measure/see how much time you are losing.
any lost time is enough lost time, and some are losing more time that others, a player farming DS on 20 alts are losing a lot of time, when it is not even necessary for that to be the case, since blizzard could just keep the portals weve had for so long now, this is the opposite of a QoL change.
1 minute per 10 hours of game time.
Something like that would be my guesstimate.
It’s really only 1-5 locations that are more time consuming than in the past - and mostly if you’re Alliance.
And in almost all of those locations you’re not going to go there more than once per week, per character.
So it’s obvious that it’s mere minutes lost relative to countless hours played.
A tempest in a teapot.
That doesn’t seem very significant. But that’s my point, no one is demonstrating the actual loss (or gain of time whichever way you look at it).
You do realise he was just guessing how much time that is lost ?
and my point is any time lost is too much time lost, and some are more affected by this than others, farming stratholme or CoT weekly is going to be a lot more than 1 minute every 10 hours
Now do you grasp why I have said we need constructive feedback and not just a bunch of people going it’s terrible?
and do you grasp it is easy feedback since its obvious… do you like to travel more or do you not… easy to give feedback on
I can tell you this much, if I still needed mounts in DS I would stop farming it, maybe do an occasional run now and then, but it would not make me play this game more, that is how much time I think is wasted
I saw the T&E video showed that the new Shattrath → Zephyr route to Caverns of Time was faster than the old Dalaran → Portal route.
And you can do that for everything.
Instead of Shrine you now have Jade Forest. So the time lost is basically the travel time from Jade Forest to Shrine, since that’s the difference.
And you can do the same for Stratholme, Naxxramas, and whatever else you farm.
Then you just hold it up against your total weekly play time, and that’s basically it.
For me I’d say that amounts to a couple of minutes of extra travel time relative to the dozen hours I play the game each week. I’m not going to get my knickers in a twist over that
what route is it you can take to get to CoT? that you don’t need to farm rep for first ? and what route is it for strat ?
I don’t do Stratholme. I already have the mount.
But if you were to do Stratholme, then the fastest route would probably be the portal to Twilight Highlands and fly from there.
So the time lost relative to the old Dalaran Crater portal is obviously just to do both travels and substract the time difference. Whatever is left is however longer the new path takes.
Stratholme is probably one of the more annoying cases, especially if you are Alliance. But at the same time, it’s an easy instance to just park an alt in front of the entrance and then just chain-run the instance until the mount drops. Traveling there every week is a bit…time inefficient (if time efficiency is what matters).
sorry I was a bit fast when I wrote stratholme + rep, I meant CoT route, that you don’t need rep for first, I also have that mount, so its not something I farm anymore
btw twilight highlands to strat is still very long imo compared to Ancient dalaran port, and only a little faster than IF to strat
If you don’t have the reputation, I’d suggest you get the reputation! It’s very handy.
But otherwise the fastest route would be the Portal to Uldum and then take the flight point to Tanaris and fly the remaining way. That takes ~2:30 minutes.
The old Dalaran → Portal route took ~35 seconds.
So the difference is something like ~2 minutes.
the old dalaran portal never took 35 seconds for me, I estimate around 15 seconds, but that’s besides the point im making anway… time lost is my point
also if I was farming CoT on my army of alts, I would be pissed if I had to get rep on them all, which would mean that I would just stop farming it as I said before
Inconvenience doesn’t necessarily has to do with time.
Sometimes conveniences go along with habits, routine, and a way you enjoy things better than another way.
I enjoy better taking portals than traveling fly path. This is what is convenient to me.
I was offered this service for a long while and it’s removed from it.
I think I have the legitimate right to say so.
I don’t break any rule by doing it, and Blizzard also said the more people would react to it, the more likely they would act on it.
Also Blizzard did ask for feedbacks,
and feedback doesn’t has to be “because thisor that” it can just be “it doesn’t feel right”
Blizzard said “we don’t care”.
Trying and being isn’t a bad thing, it doesn’t hurt anyone, only those who think that Blizzard know better and we should just bend and accept the decision.
~35 seconds. Depending on class/spec you could speed it up a bit, but it’s irrelevant. You’re still losing ~2 minutes compared to the Uldum path, regardless of whether it takes you ~15 seconds or ~35 seconds.
That strikes me as an oxymoron, because getting reputation with the Keepers of Time simply requires you to do…Caverns of Time (Black Morass or Escape from Durnholde Keep).
But if you really don’t like farming the reputation, then you can always buy reputation tokens with Keepers of Time from the TBC Timewalking vendor (whenever that comes around again).
I don’t see how its 2 minute? if I save 20 seconds compared to your 35?
I mean lets say you are standing on isle of giants, how much time does it take for you to get to CoT from there? I can say that porting to SW takes time and porting to dalaran takes time, then the only difference left is the travel time from SW to the uldum portal and the dalaran to the CoT portal, and that is not gonna take me more than a few seconds
You’re being obtuse. You do your calculation so it fits your character(s).
I play a Shadow Priest. I don’t really have any fancy movement abilities, so running through the portal room in Dalaran was a slow process. If you’re a Warrior you can probably do it faster. In the video it shows a Discipline Priest using Body & Soul to do it faster. And if it was a Monk or Demon Hunter it could go even faster still!
You’ll obviously have to apply it all to your own play experience.
And I don’t write 2 minutes. I write ~2 minutes, because it’s an aproximation!
