We heard this argument back in TBC and yet it failed to materialise at some of the truly low points in player subscription.
When the game launched we had the instanced Officers Lounge for those with a high enough PvP rating. Over the years we’ve had the farm in MoP and then the garrison in WoD, both of which were lambasted at the time but seem now to be fond memories of the game at the time (I don’t want to get into an argument over if the garrison was good or bad although I think the whole mats issue was poorly implemented).
Personally I think that we will never see housing in WoW because Blizzard just don’t want to do player housing in the way the playerbase wants it. Which is a shame because whilst I don’t clamour for individual housing per se I could get behind the idea of a Guild chapterhouse or similar.
Totally forget about this…i dont even remember for what it was good. I just did some quests while leveling and forget about it whole mop
I dont think so they will need something new for next expansion maybe it will be housing. They already tried smilar things.
Farm - no idea for what it was good for
Garrison - gold and resources?
Class halls - class identity and social aspect - i think i never interacted with somebody in class hall like at all.
In BFA we had ship -wasted potential if you asked me…having our ship that you can customize and even better sail on it? Count me in
I just hope that if they ever introduce it they will not force poeple into it because rewards or items whatever…
Plenty of points.
It could be in several tiers to showcase how good you are.
Maybe add free teleport to it always available to have a place to drop items, repair etc.
Add something profession related.
Add buffs that can be worked to.
etc etc etc etc. It can be done in a million ways if people wanted to.
TBC /wotlk was last time when wow could have hoousing after that blizzard change the game completly …to a PVE/PVP there is nothin more to that
people in wow don’t care about world anymore they like playin raids and dungeons and arenas this is new wow selling point
I think you are wrong . I will bet all my gold that there are more people just collecting(mounts, mogs) doing achievements, roleplaying or just playing for story and lore then raiders and pvpers combined.
Asmongold mount competition having twice the viewers of any mdi or arena tournament. Just saying
I am sure player housing will be part of WoW at some point. The amount of work that has to go into it is huge though, because WoW was never designed around the idea of player housing ever existing… unlike other games such as Elder Scrolls online that already had e.g. Skyrim as its predecessor that included player housing.
If they want to introduce player housing succesfully they would probably have to:
Add all these suitable houses in different places and probably update old content since houses would ideally exist all over the world in wow. Unless they want to just keep it to a specific expansion like the garrison in draenor… but this would be a suboptimal introduction of player housing if it is intended to stay.
Design and add collectable furniture or other “stuff” that we would actually put inside our houses.
Figure out systems and ways for players to actually get this “stuff” through doing different content.
If we see it, then it will be announced as one of the big new features for a new expansion.
I am certain the wow devs have player housing as one of their backup ideas to get players interested, but haven’t seen the need for this time commitment yet.
Its not realistic to have housing in world imo… Place with instanced houses, streets, village etc. Is way to go. Wow its not sandbox to have thisnfeature even when it seems good to build something in your favorite place.
2 . There are so many models of furniture already. The can reuse them. Ofc they also have ro create new but not all of it.
