People are already getting bored of Dragonflight. With every new expansion that is released, the game feels more akin to a hack-and-slash than an MMO. Reboot classic with fresh progression servers NOW! Who else wants this??
Just play the Era servers, you don’t need a fresh server.
There are lot of similar posts all the time, the problem is that everybody wants something different: classic, classic+, SoM, same pace (time between phases) as classic, faster phases, slower phases …
It might be better to wait another year and in the meantime there are the classic era realms.
I would like to play on fresh server, happy to wait for another year, maybe at the end of Wrath.
“People are already bored.”
This is the main reason why every new expansion that is released feels more and more to a hack and slash or better said, a dopamine shot that an MMO.
If people get bored that quick, what would change with a Classic Reboot? SoM worked for a month, then only a fraction of players remained. I guess people also there got bored. At most, the “hype” would last up until the release of AQ40, as history has shown us.
If you want MMORPG feeling and community you join ERA. Here the game’s framework remains stable and it is the community what is dynamic. No progression, no loss of anything, play at your own tempo, enjoy the vast Classic WoW universe.
In fact, last night we had 50+ levelers running around in the Barrens and Elwynn forest, so you can make your own “fresh” experience out of it if you want. We also reached medium pop status on the Firemaw cluster, so that is also a milestone for us, while streamers like WillE and Asmongold are talking about us.
And if your main argument is there are too many people running around with T3 how are you going to compete and all that, a fresh reboot of Classic would mean that within 2 weeks most of us would be at level 30 something, while some people would already be farming all possible black lotus or whatever anticipating “next phase’s meta”.
Nothing new under the sun.
I agree with Bananoid, we dont need fresh classic or some else classic form. People with follow hype for a month and this “new classic” will die immediately after hype gone. Just leave it to classic era
Repeat for zillionth time. As long as Era servers stay, I stay.
Is there any world PvP going on? Sounds like it could be arranged.
In some kind but rare. I leveled in Hillsbrad and was never ganked. My guildmate from my recommendation went ganking Duskwood lower levels ally for 4 days.
The resurgence in the recent Classic Era realms shows there’s demand, I would gladly play fresh, there’s nothing like taking the journey together and gearing up and raiding.
The current state of Era being Phase 6 means there’s a mix of people, and there’s literally hundreds if not thousands of people levelling right now across EU (we had over 1k on Sunday on the Firemaw cluster) but there’s always that feeling you will be met with people in Naxx gear while you are there in your dungeon greens and blues. As a pvp enthusiast this is disheartening and a level playing field would be the dream.
It seems now is a great time as interest in Wrath wanes, and the honeymoon period of Dragonflight is over. There’s definately demand.
RESTORE OUR CHARACTERS ON VANILLA REALMS!!!
I’m also looking forward to fresh Vanilla servers. I’ve learnt a lot from the last couple of years about how I like to play, what classes I enjoy the most, and what content I really enjoy. Having another chance to run through things again with that knowledge would be great.
Somebody above said something about Classic Era servers. Sorry but that’s just not the same thing.
What people want is progression servers. To know things are going somewhere. I’d happily jump into fresh Vanilla servers again, knowing they’d progress into TBC and Wrath once more. This is the game I enjoy and I have no qualms putting the time into it.
I haven’t really engaged with Wrath as much as I’d like. I missed the launch, and with the emphasis on GS and Achievements, it’s difficult to get going now without a guild agreeing to give you a leg up for the first couple of weeks.
Part of my apathy toward the game right now is not knowing where things are going. Knowing Blizz have a plan for all of us would go a long way toward keeping the community engaged.
I saw a video about era actually being chill and a small but decent community, might roll for the fun as i never got to properly play classic, what server is best in eu? or is it a false video and other than hardcore it is dead?
I am the somebody above.
Your own words: “I haven’t really engaged with Wrath as much as I’d like. I missed the launch, and with the emphasis on GS and Achievements, it’s difficult to get going now without a guild agreeing to give you a leg up for the first couple of weeks.”
Meaning, you got late to the rat race. And that is why we need fresh. So the rat race gets started with everyone on the starter line.
Now what happens if you miss two weeks because your partner wants to see the sun during a holiday? Or for whatever reason? Will be difficult to get going again in Classic fresh too? Will you need a guild to give you a leg up the first couple of weeks?
Your text validates my point lol Sucks *ss to lose ground just because.
And for those people saying pvp against T3 people… biggest ERA gamers play in a mix of R10/ZG/BWL gear with lots of engineering and consumes. Of course if your definition of pvp is that you need to one shot people, or ganking others in a surprise 2v1, then maybe it is you that would wish for that T3 gear lol BUT there is literally ZERO chance of you doing that to the players I am referring to here.
We also have a 10-19 twink scene and talks of establishing further brackets. Maybe that would suffice?
Fully 100% Agree, Classic Vanilla Fresh We Ready!
I think we’re seeing a big influx of era players right now, so rather then getting bored I think we’re infact seeing people being drawn to a game without constantly moving goalposts / catching up / a rat race.
For me it’s not really about missing anything. I’m considering finding a guild for Wrath now.
I actually didn’t really start WoW Classic properly until midway through tier 2 either. I got to 60 within those first few weeks, ended up in a toxic guild doing Molten Core, took a break, and came back, found a nice guild and remained in there for a year and a half. The same entry as what I’m about to do now.
It doesn’t really suck to fall behind provided you find the right people to play with, I don’t want fresh progression servers for the sake of having them.
Some people would say, tough, you made the wrong choices early on around your class and so on. But we’re literally where we are now because a large part of the community wanted to re experience Classic. What I’m saying is, I want to re experience Classic again, from MC to ICC. And I would happily do so until the servers shut down and we say bye to WoW.
Part of my apathy toward Wrath comes from the fact that we don’t know where it’s going anymore. When Classic was released, it was pretty much a guarantee we’d get TBC and Wrath, but right now we know nothing, there’s no road map and no rumors to suggest Blizz have a plan for us.
While there might be an element of boredom that drives people the Classic Era servers. I think it’s a combination of factors. It’s a safer time investment because eventually I guarantee you that they’ll be new TBC servers to copy your character over too. I just don’t think that’ll be successful, because I think most people are looking for that fresh progression again to experience over the coming years.
We are talking about Classic up to level 60 here. No TBC or Wrath
Regardless, the assumption is we’ll eventually end up back at Wrath with these servers. I highly doubt this is the last we’ll see of TBC or Wrath.
I don’t think they are going to start again with progression realms.
Your only chance to do anything like that will be to play SoM2 and transfer to Wrath at the end.
