Recent banwave?

Have there been a ban wave last night? I’ve been farming bots outside Stratholme for like 3 weeks, and get around 100-120hk per hour, and today I’ve been here for almost 3 hours and 73 hk. I don’t recognize like 90% of the bots I’ve seen today. I’ve checked both Layer 1 and 2, both pretty empty

I have seen a few people posting about being banned here and in the US.

Well that’s awesome if so

Why do it have to be bann waves tho, cant they just bann all bots once they are created?

I would guess they need proof that they are botting.

I thought they announced it on the wotlk realms? Not 100% sure if they also ment classic era, but as far I’m aware it was announced under the wrath of the lich king discussion section.

Because FLYING bots from months to the same dungeon is not enought for bli$$ard xD

Yeah, or doing the same dungeon literally 24/7, no red flags whatsoever xD

Seems most bots from Zandalar Tribes is gone too.

Three new bots created this morning, so in a few days they are back and farming stratrholme, Maraudon, Dire Maul …

Yeah, kinda sad how its just rinse and repeat. bots farm for 6 months then get banned, then they are up and running again within a week

in dire maul it’s still full of bots, so i doubt they banned anyone

they banned only stratholme bots, 20-30 mages now (5-10 of them are real people), was 80-100

I’m omw to DM now, i just did a /who dire maul 60 mage, 41 people. while stratholme is 16. (checked on horde) So yeah there’s been a banwave.

Yea, it can be really hard to tell.
These guys seem legit tho, so that’s good.

Because aimlessly banning them will just retain their generstion.

They need to track down their coding so they csn then prevent the coding working in the game,

The problem is these companies thst do the botting on mass, are sat their generating new code.

So the cycle is simply endless, everytime blizzard cracks the code for a banwave to occur theyve built a new botting code.

The only success ive seen a company in regards to combating this, was gw2 aending a cease and desist order, but gw2 was primarily hacking, and was a american company site providing them, i dont know how international it would work given as far as im aware alot of botting companies for WoW are not american

Actually it can be hard to tell, it may seem obvious when you look at them but Blizzard don’t look at them, they analyse the data.

They should do much better though.

Blizzard did that many, many years ago for a bot called Glider, mainly because they couldn’t detect it and when they did an update was in place in hours.

So they sued them and won. The first and only time I think.

better to let them bot for 3 months and pay sub for 3 months.

Surely if the auto systems can detect them in wrath they can detect them in Era?

Blizzard like to make a big thing of banning bots in Wrath so why haven’t we officially heard of a ban in Era?
