After moving onto other games at the end of Shadowlands, and having returned at the very tail end of Dragonflight, I find myself wishing for a RP guild to join with on this character.
More recent events have defined him as a war veteran in the Fourth War and defender of the new world tree during Dragonflight, just to give a sense of my character. Experience in mercenary work and some nobility style happenings and events aswell.
OOCly, Im an AD native with years of RP experience. Reacquinting myself back in the realm after the before mentioned pause. I do know personally of AD’s toxic history and havent kept abreast of recent OOC drama so I apoligize for my ignorance on that topic.
Any inquiring questions in regard to this thread and comments are appreciated. Hope to hear some recommendations while I scour the forum page.
Depends really. What are you, the player, looking for? Are you look to keep doing the merc/noble stuff or does something else interest you with the character?
I am keeping an open mind for now as to the variety of guilds out there, see what fancies me and go from there. I know that does not make it easy for recommandation, I just dont have a fixated interest in any specific theme in RP at the moment from not having done RP within the game.
We have, unfortunately in this case, moved to more underground pastures, but I know for a fact there are a couple of Gilneas-themed guilds still bringing life to the rainy kingdom.
And if they are not to your liking, I’m pretty sure the Dirge of Teldrassil (Night Elf + Worgen guild) are happy to take on a soldiering druid with a pinch of veterancy.
If neutrality is your cup of tea, you could also give the Ardent Pursuit a try. It just so happens that during the past year we’ve recruited our own branch of Gilneans/Worgen.
We’re a traveling Argent Band so we get around quite a lot and have a few events every week.
Welcome back to Argent Dawn! I too took a pretty big break, but mine was more at the start of Shadowlands, and came back to roleplay about this time last year! In that time I’ve found my home with the most amazing group of people both IC and OOC in the Meridian Edict, a Vulpera-caravan inspired guild that focusses on the found-family community we have fostered IC. We are no noble guild or mercenaries, but our guild could be a good place for a retired veteran who seeks a slower pace - while still not being a stranger to potential combat and complex situations to face.
Our guild has roleplay happening almost daily, with more structured DM’d events following a story on a civil war on a foreign island - with the Edict trying to settle the conflict peacefully. These campaign events are tailor’d to player choices and actions, where what you do has a real effect on the story - with consequences and benefits alike. Outside of that, we also have various sub-plots for players to engage with, that can result in regular roleplay turning into personally-dm’d events!
On alternating Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we also host the Solstice Bazaar, where we sell TRP3 Extended items that the guild members have ICly created!
If this sounds like something that interests you, you can find more information on us below. It’d be awesome to see you around regardless!
Welcome back to roleplay! To add to what Rhaethas has said, Ksar here, while he never took part in Alliance vs Horde wars, is also a war veteran in a sense, who has eventually ended up joining the Edict, making friends with other members and use his experience and knowledge to help with the problems the Edict faces.
I imagine both him and your character could find common ground to talk about, even if you end up joining a different guild! It would be good to see your character visiting the shop or running into them in one of hubs!
My character ended up joining the Ardent Pursuit, trying his hand at achieving tangible positive influence for Azeroth. Maybe our paths will cross in the future.
