begins discussing pve stuff in a thread purely about horde rp
The Horde is okay. If you want to play the villain and donât mind being raised into undeath after being killed by friendly fire blightbombs as you busily slaughter civilians.
Morals as grey as the leaderâs decolletage.
reigniting unnecessary wars intensifies - Greymane
Worgen were a mistake. You lot can have him if you stop with the casual genocides and victim blaming, trimming the fat off the martyr complex, take responsibility for your crimes, stop lying to your allies keep the pollution and bioweapon oopsies within your own borders.
Hey, we do keep all of that within our own borders.
Problem is the alliance thinking they get to claim any land at all.
All land was troll land, elves were trolls, all elf land is troll land, trolls are Horde, ergo all land is Horde land?
But then all the fighting is just a self destructive civil war and the Horde needs to lay down its arms and cease bombing its own land. Peace starts with you, red team.
Donât you group those stinky mutants with us ever again, except the Night Borne and Blood Elves, you guys are cool, donât come to school tomorrow.
Savage trolls were uplifted and perfected via magic, shedding their hideous, malformed features and becoming more intelligent. Elves are still barbarians, though. Especially nightborne bumpkins who are easily tricked into supporting those that would destroy them. First demons, then zombies by the lies of their green eyed cousins.
These posts and the OP were pretty inspirational.
Lokâtar!
I was ALMOST tempted. Almost.
Over my twice dead body! (Iâm contemplating it)
Krugraa for Warchief.
Here a Draenei assassin wanting to be recruited as a Horde Operative! * flails*
Horde is lacking civilian roleplay. If there would be more opportunities to roleplay on Horde without being any kind of soldier/fighter/anything similar that would help alot.
Alliance has all the adventurers, crafters, traders etc. which does exist on Horde side, but isnât as prevelant.
When you go to Orgrimmar or Silvermoon the amount of warband and military is just overwhelming (nothing wrong about that though!).
What is also limiting Horde RP is the fact that alot of races being less open minded towards other races (or even their own kind) which limits alot of social roleplay. And tbh, after the sixth brawl under that tree, people get bored and eventually make an alliance toon on which they have just more opportunities to develop their character.
And then⊠then snowball effect happens and boom: 2018/19 AD is here for you.
In the spirit of Winterâs Veil!
Oh the weather outside is frightful.
But the Horde is so delightful.
Since the Alliance is no place to go.
Join the Horde, join the Horde, join the Horde.
Maybe less so now but back-in-the-dayâą youâd have a tier of Horde guilds wedged between dedicated military and civilian stuff that sort of did both depending. I know to some extent thatâs true of Alliance, but I always thought it fit Horde best. No such thing as an orc that doesnât warrior.
Probably the clan guilds (frozen paw et al) are still good for that, and I know the HoC do a lot of off duty RP between campaigns.
guilds
There you go. You donât really rely on a guild on alliance side, since the hubs are crowded enough to just go in and play.
Horde has Orgrimmar only and mostly Valley of Honour which doesnât even give most characters a reason to be there. Guilds that tried to create a buisness around the city (I remember a pet/animal supply next to the Orgrimmar gate?) havenât really had much success, because since the majority of Horde roleplayers are either military or warband fighters, they lacked players to interact with outside of very specific occasions. The Peon guild is a step in the right direction though!
I think I see what youâre getting at. Too many military types crowded into one spot, which is viewed as the only accessible hub? Donât get me wrong, thatâs where the military types should be, but if you arenât looking for Military RP (and that is the majority of RPâers) that can be off-putting.
Kalimdor Horde RP needs a hub outside Orgrimmar for the more social/tribal types. Iâve been toying with the idea of a scheme/process of building up a hub in the Crossroads and Ratchet, and using up the Northern Barrens and itâs natural/useful features for just such, the plan is very much still in âthe worksâ though. Weâll see where I land with that come new year.
But yeah, some good points there Crarg.
I just want to give a massive shoutout to Ghria.
Not only does she go out of her way to have a civilian orc (blacksmith at that), but she also goes out of her way to get commissions and work orders out of other characters!
Yes, thereâs way too many military types for civilians to be enticed into doing their thing, but thereâs also a shortage of civilian craftsmen attempting to accumulate clientele!
Also, in my experience a shop in the Drag is way, way, way more accessible than plonking down your business by a gate nobody uses. Most people Iâve seen enter Orgrimmar IC have been doing so via a portal to Orgrimmar, a zeppelin to Orgrimmar or the flight master - all three of which circumvent the north and south gates. If you wanted to place a business by a gate, Iâd recommend the western one as there are occasionally trolls roleplaying in the Valley of Spirits alongside a blood elf or three (or used to somewhat frequently!)
If you want to thrive as a civilian on Horde, you best be ready to prospect and advertise. The same very much goes for guilds!
Saddles, forks, knives, horse shoes, needles, threads, swords, daggers, axes, shovels, rings, amulets, potions, elixirs, jewels, clothing, maps, animal food (i.e. for worgs, horses, striders), fuel, services. Peopleâs characters want all that. Sometimes entire guilds want that! How do I know? I RP with people and absorb the RP going on around my character. The demand is there. People interact with the mail troll, too, whenever they want their mail (or send mail).
There. Are. Hot. Dog. And. Burger. Vendors. Player characters. 4 of them are orcs. They attract RP like a moth to a lamp. With a little more promotion the Lokâtar Pugilism Center will take off too.
What I am essentially saying is: Go RP your civilian like they have to pay for upkeep/rent! If youâre looking to set up a workplace, do it in the Drag! People go there! Itâs that simple!
Controversely, sparking up a conversation on its own is a bit of a gamble gamble if youâre rolling with the trait of being unremarkable. Just like in the real world :C
That being said, one of the core challenges of rolling a civilian on Horde is having at least a vague concept around who your character is! Most characters in Orgrimmar I donât get around to approaching I see RPing a bit, pulling a munane emote at a bar, idling in front of the inn, and then kinda leave after a few hours of being left alone. Meanwhile people like Eldora Sparks, Bub, Ghria, Vitaliya and I tend to choke and drown in a jungle of RP as we regret never having packed that machete when leaving our respective houses.
Iâd like to end this post on a revolutionary note, especially for civilian types: Be patient and play the long game. If you keep having small interactions with others that donât necessarily relate to your characterâs profession, you get to both show yourself in a good light and develop your own character a little more, and you get the educate yourself around your scene of RP better. Sure, Horde doesnât have the numbers of Alliance, but it has enough numbers for you to build consistent RP with characters who will be remembered and matter in the long run. Heck, spend enough time interacting and you could find random people to build unexpected businesses with!
PS: We need more bards. Please bring us bards ty.
PPS: This character hasnât brawled under the tree once and somehow wound up coaching a handful of people in boxing xD
