Recruiting - The Horde! đŸ‘ș

(Mediocre) Bard incoming, ask and you shall receive. I’m going to give it a shot, since the idea of a bard sounds great for casual rp when I’m not doing guild-stuff Alliance side.
PS: If Borvin finds out he’ll skin me, so don’t let him in on the fun.

I appreciate the motivation, but some of my point where even underlined by yourself.

Yes, there’s way too many military types for civilians to be enticed into doing their thing

That wasn’t really requested by anyone really. But many people find themself cornered when creating a Horde character. Or in other words they make their characters -around- the available roleplay offered by guilds and RP hubs. And you can’t really blame them, because it’s totally understandable that everyone wants interaction when putting effort into a character and not having almost non-existent opportunities for approaches.

Saddles, forks, knives, horse shoes, needles, threads, swords, daggers, axes, shovels, rings, amulets, potions, elixirs, jewels, clothing, maps, animal food (i.e. for worgs, horses, striders), fuel, services. People’s characters want all that. Sometimes entire guilds want that!

Yes people do. But my personal experience is that people are too lazy to actually roleplay that out. Some do, but most people don’t. This is disencouraging for anyone trying to stay away from the soldier route.

If you’re looking to set up a workplace, do it in the Drag! People go there! It’s that simple!

It doesn’t change the fact that 97% of your customers will be military or warband soldiers. Which makes buisnesses that do not cater to war effort directly less successful. Or in other words: The market is not very large. On alliance side though this is totally different imo. Not lorewise, but playerwise. The amount of people who are willing to develop stories besides the main storyline is larger which automatically gives any trader/crafter/merc more opportunities to interact.

The only solution I could see is if all areas of Orgrimmar would be filled with roleplayers, playing out different types of RP. So it’d create an immersive city where non-combatants can “fill in” easily.

PS: We need more bards. Please bring us bards ty.

Indeed. Actually I love letting my characters sing. Prepare for it!

The only place I’ve seen people actively a v o i d roleplaying in is the Valley of Strength! This says a lot about opportunity! If we were to expand the places in Orgrimmar to actively RP in, I’d start with the Drag! It’s like the Trade District of Stormwind, only without the OOCers!

I like that Crossroads/Ratchet idea by the way. People RP in Ratchet frequently and in the Crossroads sometimes. Razor Hill has a small RP community that is fairly active, too!

I agree. It has to be easily accessible by the “main” roleplay hub. Hopefully the easier leveling process will make people try out new characters as well and repopulate the city a bit  (I’m leveling a Highmountain Tauren during the holidays).

I’m rehearsing as we speak!

Not a Bard, but I do have a bon.go Drum and a flightless parrot that dances.

Just wait till the Vulpera come out, it seems that even their combatants are actually just a civilian militia. They’ll probably bring the needed Citizen RP to the Horde, if they are played right. (Which I’ll hopefully be able to spear head some of that initiative by making a Vulpera Caravan guild)

P.S.: Don’t you hate it when you’re computer crashes while you’re editing a post?

WoW has been drifting towards becoming a single-faction game for quite some time, so switching to the Horde is really a no-brainer, at least outside of RP realms.

The future is written on the wall in big letters: Alliance is for alts, Horde is for mains.

Saying this as an original Alliance main.

Little did we know that when Horkim was a little boy, he saw an image of the Gnoma lisa in a book, when he saw that image, he got an erection. He later went home and cut the hands out of the image to put up on his wall.

Join us. Our buildings have tusks. Do yours? No. Our buildings could beat yours in a fight.

I’ve been trying to make this character work on and off for months, but I have 0 interest in RPing in a military guild or in Orgrimmar x.x Slim pickings

Are you subscribed to any communities or discords? Idling about won’t secure much in the way of random rp.

Then make an Initiative for RP in a zone of your choice or make a guild. not everything can be gained by waiting, sometimes you must create the opportunity yourself.

I don’t know of any discords or communities on horde side. And I’m not the type that can organise stuff or run guilds, either. Not comfortable DMing or recruiting and stuff.

Then start the Initiative but ask someone else, preferably more experienced and trustworthy, to help. You’ll likely find a heep of people willing to help or be a part of the initiative. If you do decide to start some initiative, I will gladly attend which ever Zone you chose to be a part of that community and so that you can have a friendly face as reassurance of support.
