I am afraid so.
You should look into getting the thingies that upgrade the dragonflight for a better experience.

I hope they have enough confidence in their new system to allow access to the old system in 10.1.
I don’t like the new system, only done the Dracthyr starting zone so far. Took me 7 hours to do the Dive quest and took me 4 goes to get to the quest in the north east of the zone (waiting for hearthstone to cool down each time). I did try getting they on the ground but the terrain wasn’t letting me.

For those who like the new system, fair enough crack on with it but I hope that one patch is enough for people to get used to that so that those of us for whom it’s not suitable can have proper flying back.

You’ll get used to the new system. You can get anywhere you want, as far as you want and get there much faster than regular flying once you get the hang of it and have all the upgrades.

Players, like me, that have been doing it for years in Guild Wars 2 can pick it up straight away. Couple of weeks practice and you probably won’t care about the old flying anymore.

Only bad things are that it’s harder to semi-afk farm crafting nodes and it’s harder to go straight up. I say harder but really I mean it just requires your attention.

There is weird flying in game atm i assumed i would unlock proper flying at max level or something.

Collected tons of talent points experience sadly the same for me and i literally avoid using it atm and going with ground mount.

I don’t like Dragon Riding either, I know others love it and are crazy about it.

I’ve gathered all the glyphs and I still hate it. It’s just an annoying gimmick. I’m struggling to find the motivation to level and that’s unusual for me.

I would much rather have my regular flying mounts.

Ye well with this abomination it sucks much more . Honestly i woudl rafher be stuck on ground then waste my time gliding liek this because they made continent emoty and huge just for sake od gliding.

Nah we wont. Once peopel start to unsub because of this disaster they will let us fly liek alwaysm

i wouldn’t say it’s a failure cuz i see some people really like it but again why their design philosophy forces everyone to participate in this ? i would rather have my old slow proper flying then have to deal with this.

I don’t like the system. It sucked all hype for the expansion out of me the moment I was given that red protodrake and it just haven’t returned so far.
I hope we can get normal flying back. I miss my druid flight form and to add to it dracthyr a new race with wings have to flap around on dragons instead of flying themselves.
I was really looking forward to DF but so far my enjoyment has been plummeting with each new feature aside from crafting which seems decent.

I already feel like it’s stronger than normal flying with 1 vigor every 10 seconds (at high speeds), I can go anywhere faster and stay airborne indefinitely. The only downside is that if you start on low ground you waste 10-20 seconds just gaining height.

And I don’t even have the 1 vigor every 5 seconds talent yet.

I just got all the glyphs a bit ago so that I can have the better flying experience I can now.
It also upgrades the soar racial flight

Normal flying already feels like a downgrade, with all the glyphs collected.
This isn’t even accounting for stuff added in later patches that improve it further.

Hope to get an option to Dragon ride in older zones.

I think the problem with the old world is that it wasn’t designed for it. I already got disconnected once while soaring form Hyjal and running into the skybox in the nearby zone.
