Yes i am not saying you can not do that but when you do you are part of why people are not inviting people who is not the theoretical best in every aspect do not complain next time when your spec/class is considered worse then others.
as you are inviting this behavour and are reinforcing it yourself.
You however have no proof that the frost mage you did invite in this case would not have done more dps/ been more usefull for your group then the fire mage you really wanted.
I have so many times seen people invite meta classes because they are meta not actually understanding why they are meta or how you make them good, in the end the person does less then if a person from most other specs had been invited.
My spec already is considered worse then most tanks for M+, doesnât mean Iâm not gonna pick the best DPS setup I can when I have 120+ applications on every key we put in LFD.
Yes I do, cause we had a frost mage for the same dungeon with the same legendary the dungeon before (which was the exact same dungeon). Sure it could have been a player issue, but Iâm not gonna risk my key for a pug player when there are the specs/classes/covenants I want in queue
Sure but this is what you get with pugging, inviting players you have absolutely 0 knowledge of. You take the players you think you have the highest chances for your run. Nowhere is any proof about the skill of any player that is signing for your key.
You nailed it it is a player issue also frost mage was used in the first +15s done this expansion just because fire mage is considered better does not make frost useless.
heck frost mage would help you as a dk kite if you need to.

I never said that I didnât want a frost mage cause they were useless though. I said I wanted a fire mage, for what reason I never stated so youâre just making it up right now.
No need for their slows when I have 2 MM hunters with binding shot and my own DnD slow.
Again, I make my own groups so there will never be that issue for me.
Sure that is fine but if you have 2 hunters you a dk why do you specifically want a mage in the first place? I assume you had a shaman healer for the melee kick and it being good In general.
it is not that much a mage would contribute to the group unless there is something specific that you wanted them for.
A monk would be a better choice if you are going to go full on meta like that and you only invite meta specs.
And it would have buffed your hunters damage
In my writing I said I wanted a fire mage not a frost mage. I never stated any reasons why, that is something you made up in your mind to spin it a certain way.
For some of the pulls we do in said dungeon the fire mage will make it a lot easier with the high burst they provide during combust while a frost mage will be reliant on RNG to get proccs to do the same kind of damage.
Weâre a group of 4 friends so we play the classes we play. 2 Hunters, 1 Holy Paladin & Blood DK. we can cover most interrupts with kicks, stuns etc and on certain dungeons we can also control undead to take away 1 kick that is needed
I wanted them for combust and nothing else.
Except we only pug 1 DPS, I just happen to have 2 good friends who play Hunter, if they werenât meta we would still run 2 Hunters.

And the setup you have a monk would be your best bet for a class the debuff alone would buff yours the healer the 2 hunters dps.
They also have really good burst if I remember correctly.
But now I can understand where you are coming from.
It hasnât happened because people assume you are meta, at least if you do 12-14.
I however has been removed several times because I play BM and not MM - again, invited to a group, they realize Iâm BM, and then I get removed. Ilvl 210, but the meta is so sharp these days, at least if youâre pugging.
