Remember the weirdos saying you wouldnt get into groups with the wrong covenant?

Want some popcorn for the ride?

Luckily i dont pug so i could choose covenant based on looks instead of what is best (eeeew necrolords ).

Edit: i also think we’ll see more of «metapicks» when we get further into the expansion/season and a more clear meta is formed. Just like in bfa where ppl refused to invite anything else then rdudu for their keys cause that was meta.

It’ll probably get a lot worse as people start to learn what’s bis for each class spec. That, and people can just look your character up before actually accepting you in their groups. Leaving you hanging if you’ve got the wrong covenant. In higher end content anyway.

Venthyr is for Twilight fan boys be a Vampire without haveing Fangs.
Stand in the ligth without taking damage from the sun. Clearly a Twilight covenant

It’s quite funny, but the only dsp spec that has representation of all 4 covenants is shadow priest. Most of the others have 2, with a few rare cases of 1 or 3:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/statistics/26#class=Priest&spec=Shadow&combatantinfo=Covenants&aggregate=amount

Same here, had no problems at all, ah only yesterday some silly person asking the weirdest stuff for timewalking haha
but I just ignored that and made my own pug, took us no time at all to clear 5, and ofc I didnt care about what class/ spec and whatnot they had either.
Its same when SL wasnt released yet, all those post about some players not being able to play with their pc with HDD etc etc
and they are playing just fine.
Ppl will always have stuff to write, imo always just stick to what u want yourself and all will be fine, unless you are in the highest/hardcore guilds

if ur a druid and join Night Fea can u get the butterfly form as taver from
fly around SL as a butterfly

I refuse to set foot in Halls or Sanguine without a Venthyr. Which is why I’ve swapped to Venthyr so we don’t have to keep searching for one with good enough gear every time.

Couple more I could think of, Mists without a Night fae is just a drag cause of the 10% mushroom and the respawn points in case of a wipe, Other side without urns would not be something I’m interested in at all.

Fact is the only dungeon I’m fine doing without having a person of that covenant is Plaguefall

Locked covenant should of been a thing and let me tell you why.

Now we have this flexibility, Blizzard has no reason to balance the covenants, they can brush it off by saying go to your bis covenant, the option is there.

If we were locked they would be forced to do something about the imbalance.

I dunno, it may be because of the fact that:
-Covenant swap restrictions were eased up over time.
-Door of Shadows got nerfed, the mob packs got shuffled around, and the percentage requirements tuned around to doing most of the packs are needed for the percentage, essentially nullifying the option to skip them.
-Quite a few covenant specific bonuses in dungeons were changed, or in case of Kyrian, outright nerfed. Necrotic Wake’s Kyrian bonus gave either a single individual massive haste boost, or moderate amount of haste for all 5 players. Now you can only take a single one each player and it gives you a chance of a damage proc (you can even check back on how some classes literally deleted the first boss in sub 20 seconds in a 10 key.)
-Both covenant abilities and conduits got tuned really low, in order for the disparity not to look so big. Still, you have specs like Resto shaman where there is a pretty big gap of difference between going non-necrolord and any of the other three covenants.

It almost as if these issues were clarified specifically because the forums were making a big deal out of it. Just a hunch though.

But don’t let logic stop you. We are only three weeks into the expansion, so we have obviously seen it all already.

I am sorry, but the fact that you are complaining about this, while you are doing the exact same thing yourself sounds just a tad bit ironic.

I must say, hearing the thoughts of such experienced players is quite informative and enlightening!

Yeah no denies from covenant yet - for spec so far? Yep. Feral druid and many other ‘poor performing’ specs in M+ get declined or removed if they’re not the spec they want. Why M+ should be queueable at this point.

M+ becoming queueable more often than not will mean that it will end up being nerfed massively as a result. I personally wouldn’t want that to happen.

The thing is.
I dont disagree with you.
But i dont entirely agree aswell.

I think Locked Covenants are a perfectly fine idea.

HOWEVER. and this is still the case,

i am Ardenweald, and i am lucky ardenweald is the best zone and the best covenant for MM/BM hunter.

And rightfully so.
Buit if i was forced to be maldraxus, a place i would not feel at home as a hunter, i might have unsubbed.
And i say forced lightly. I am raiding, i want to do mythic, if i dont pick ardenweald, i am not on the team for lack of dps.

Covenants are great, but should not be connected to player power,
The conduits are pointless and make no sense

Or maybe becouse everyone and their grandma, that wants to play even at sub-human level picked their bis one?

15% haste or 10% dr for the whole party for 3 minutes is not bad at all.

I never said it was bad, I just said it was the most likely dungeon I won’t bring one of the correct covenant

Yes, I only commented because I’ve seen a lot of people skip it even if it’s available. Most probably they just have no idea about the buff.

Oh no, the Plaguefall buff is amazingly good. The worst one imo is ToP, while I do love the vers it just isn’t that impactful over the entire dungeon at least for my group

This is just wrong this is not what he said.
He used a Very specific example it was between Night fea Hunter vs Venthyr Hunter.
He specifically said he would kick a hunter playing venthyr because they are playing venthyr and not night fea.
Meaning he would invite the person but if he then found they played venthyr he would kick them.

How appropriate you chose that dungeon and covenant.
Based on what he actually said he would have kicked the hunter playing venthyr even if he did not have a venthyr in the group for that dungeon, because the hunter is not playing night fea.

I would. We invited a Mage and found out he was frost when we wanted Fire so we booted him off.

There’s nothing bad about wanting a specific covenant or spec for your run. It’s your run and you’re free to make your own rules for it.
