Reminder that Void Elves should get normal hair in 9.1

Blizzard was so close to perfection with Void Elves in 9.0. They gave them blue eyes like High Elves, they gave them regular skin colours, and they even threw in a few unexpected eye colour options for good measure because of a bug which ended up looking pretty good.

But like we all know, the High Elf fantasy simply cannot be realised while you run around looking like a pouting emo. We need proper elven hair styles and colours. Just pull the switch and port them over from the Blood Elves. It’s literally something that could be done in an afternoon.

Roll Blood Elf. Done!

A Blood Elf is Horde. That means by default that you can’t fulfil the traditional High Elf fantasy, because they are surrounded by brutes and mostly dwell in huts.

That’s your problem I guess.

But playing a Void Elf, you’ll still be a Void Elf… because you’re playing an Elf which has fallen to the Void… so I guess that’s not a High Elf.

elves dont need more customisation, they have some of the most period. Focus on minority races plz.

It is my problem, and that’s why I’m suggesting a fix which would solve it for me (and many other players).

A Void Elf is either a High Elf or a Blood Elf which has undergone a transformation and joined Alleria’s cause, siding with the Alliance. They may or may not have been Blood Elves in-between the old days and now. But if you choose to look at your character as a High Elf, then it is possible to do so without breaking the lore.

Without proper hairstyles (and colours) though, it gets harder to fulfil that fantasy properly. Just like not having access to proper long beards on human males if you’re going for the wizard look. You’re still a wizard, but it doesn’t feel perfect until Blizzard relents.

Other races need more customization options too. No doubt.

The problem with Void Elves right now is that they’re so close to perfection. Blizzard has shown that they’re willing to meet players halfway in the whole High Elf-debate, but until we get proper hair then it’s really just 99% done.

Maybe you should just be asking for High Elves to be put into the game.

Personally, I’d rather see Customisation added to Nightbourne. A much more interesting Allied race added to the game.

Personally I think Void Elves were a bit of an after thought for Blizz.
“Oh quick, we need to think up a new race for alliance”
“oh shall we just give them Blood elves?”
“Yeh, but lets make them really emo to help with the new kids playing the game”
“Good idea”

Terrible back story tbh.

I’d rather they just fully remade the models so they looked more unique. At least Nightbourne don’t look like Night Elves at a first glance (even though they are). And then my Void Elf mage, won’t look like a clone of my Blood Elf mage.

But if you’re playing a Void elf. expect it to be a Void Elf. That’s the fantasy you are playing! V O I D E L F.

In the meantime just Roll a Blood Elf and run around Silvermoon. Thats the closest you’ll get.

I used to ask for “proper High Elves”, but I stopped once Blizzard gave us blue eyes and normal skin tones for Void Elves. I don’t really think we need High Elves as a separate race now. Both Blood Elves and Void Elves are High Elves in everything but name.

The problem is that Blizzard doesn’t offer the genuine experience to either side. Blood Elves are stuck with the Horde, which means spikes, huts, poison, voodoo, and basically nothing to do with Silvermoon. Void Elves are in their proper setting, but look emo instead.

Both sides should have the option to look like proper High Elves. But on top of that, Void Elves should have access to their void-y options while Blood Elves gain access to their fel-y options.

Heck, give Blood Elves a red eye unlock, I don’t mind. Like the Night Elf Night Warrior quest. They have a pretty strong connection to vampirism and the undead through Sylvanas and the Forsaken so that makes sense.

Void Elves can be properly void-y while transformed. Just like Alleria, they ought to be able to look completely normal until “triggered”. Same should go for Worgen as well, really. Normal out of combat, feral in combat.

I agree with you that Nightborne deserve a lot of love as well, but I dislike your copy-pasta answer about “the Horde is there waiting for you”. I think we should be allowed to make suggestions for improvements without being met by comments like that.

We could use some more voidy hair, but that’s it.

Actually it isn’t his problem. Blizzard did give Velves the natural skin, which in tern is like a promise to complete the request. So you can’t really blame some people for having this mentally that now the Void elves are 2 races. That’s basically what Blizzard did with Shadowlands hence the Sand trolls for Darkspear and Wildhammer for Bronzebeard dwarves.

As for me, I just wanna see Voidy stuff. Like Black hair. Plus it could work both ways for both skin tones.

More options for those who like the void-y look are welcomed by me as well. But you shouldn’t rule out other people’s wishes like that. More normal options should also make it to live.

As long as it doesn’t break the lore, shouldn’t be a problem.

As I’ve mentioned before, we already have Void elf NPC’s with Black hair. So it’s something we can ask for.

But asking for ALL the hair colors is too much. You need to look at the perspective of both sides, the Blood elf and the Void elf here.

I’d welcome black hair as well. But I don’t see the issue with all colours, really.

What are Void Elves today?

They are a group (pretty much a cult) of High Elves and Blood Elves who travelled to Telogrus Rift and joined Alleria. Some of them are original “gen 1” Void Elves who underwent a pretty drastic transformation, while others are scholars learning the ways of the void in a more controlled setting. It’s easy to imagine those with regular appearance, until they’re agitated somehow which causes the void to take over temporarily.

well we can use more hairstyles too say for female void and blood elf
for my void elf hunter only the void ponytail works with my mogs
same for Raquel for this char

Definitely. I think the Void Elf hairstyles should be de-tentacled and given to the Blood Elves. It stands to reason that they’d use the same hairstyles since they’re of the same culture.

That’s a bit harsh. Can we settle for just removing the non-voidy skin tones/eye colours?

Well maybe if we can deter Blizzard from heading into a the Cosmic War between Light and Void which nobody asked for OR cares about, and starts to focus upon the Azeroth and and the trouble within, which is arguably what World of Warcraft is about. Then maybe they’ll get around to adding High Elves as a Playable race for both Factions.

Except… Silvermoon city itself. Which is where I guess you’ll be carrying out your “fantasies”.

Fair enough. But if Blizzard wanted you to be doing it now. They would have given it, to you already.

If I were you’d I’d be pushing for Content that supports the addition of a High Elf Race.

Alliance. 15 years and they are still crying over Belves. People still wonder why no one plays this pathetic faction.
