I swear this specc has legit destroyed the m+ scene… I’m legit playing LFG finder and afking in valdrakken, cause this specc just despite nerfs just locks in a spot for every single grp…
For the people who come here “Do your own key” Sure I could but again another spot has to be locked for aug… And then it’s just another person sitting in the same spot as me…
Will we just see Augmentation for the rest of wow? Cause with how it is atm despite all the nerfs if you don’t have one in your grp your just trolling… Like if u like m+ You simply can’t play unless your one of the god comb classes.
This expansion has been so great until that specc got released, you could run different combs, you kept adressing tuning towards speccs and now after the release look u even had to fix the whole inflation… cause of one specc…
What imo would also help is make PI only for the priest itself and add an actual cd on mind soothe, sure give them back some dmg if u feel like but…
Cd isn’t necessary on mind soothe, it already has a pretty hefty restriction of only working on 2 creature types. Bliz were just oblivious to this and decided not to add any of the creature types it doesn’t work on in any places mind soothe could have been used when making dungeons. It really wasn’t hard to put an elemental mob in HOI with some of packs of humanoids, or hyena beasts in the packs near the cages in BH, or make the frogs in HoI beasts instead of dragonkin…
Mindsoothe no longer works on mobs with stealth detection, so it is now on the same level as cloak of shadows, when it comes to skips.
So it has kind of been fixed. As before it was just a far superior CoS effect.
While I get where you are coming from, you are overblowing it quite a bit. For 1-22 content, you can easily PuG the content. Groups are not as set in stone as you would think. Once you reach 23-25 it is transitioning to become more noticable as a problem. Around the 28 mark it becomes a viability question. Yet, for the 98% of the population, Aug or the other parts of the the God comp is not needed - in many cases it would serve you better to bring other classes instead (due to how you pull, packs length and no CD synergy without preplanning).
Don’t worry, I fully understand where your frustration is coming from. Especially if you play Rogue. As Rogue is very unpopular to bring - you simply don’t carry much favour within the community as a DPS pick. I still hope you see that the problem is not a “god comp” problem. It is more a community perception problem, than anything else. Even that is slowly fading away, as the godcomp got the stigma of being “nerfed a lot”.
As long WoWhead and other popular sources don’t talk day and night about how it breaks the top meta and nothing else works within it - the trickledown should even out and the pool of choice will not be so coloured by top-end opinion.
… it gets a lot of angry clicks though, and a lot of comments/interaction traction. So… ye…
Ofcourse it does, because it was designed too, the idea blizzards had is to introduce a new role to the game, its just they decided to test its popularity prior investing in this. Like all roles they’ve designed it to vbe locked in, just like a tank and healer is.
Which i dont really have a issue with. If they wanna add a new role go for it.
But I doubt that blizz would remove it, or nerf it in any way.
What blizz can reasonably do is fix the main reason Aug is so meta right now: It buffs healing and tankines of the healer/tank.
So changing % primary stat to % damage, OR, limiting the primary stat buffs to DPS only is something that they could reasonably do to make it less meta.
And nerf some of its utility CDs.
And then, when they launch a true support role (just as a reminder, Aug is a DPS role right now…), then they can revert the changes.
I feel like aug has created another problem as well as people thinking it’s a required spec in every key.
I know 2 main healers who decided to try evoker healing early in DF and have now switched to playing aug for keys. I don’t really know that many main healers, but if my small sample is an example of what’s happening across the community, aug is also making the healer shortage worse.
Personally, I think they need to do something radical:
Create more support specs.
Make dungeons 6 player instead of 5 so the support role is in addition to the existing tank, healer and 3 dps.
I don’t know how much work that would be. Probably a lot, but if they’re going to go down the support spec route, they’re going to need to do something because all they’ve done so far is made an existing problem much worse.
